Optical Wireless Communication(OWC)is a new trend in communication systems to achieve large bandwidth,high bit rate,high security,fast deployment,and low *** basic idea of the OWC is to transmit data on unguided media with *** system requires multi-carrier modulation such as Orthogonal Frequency Division multiplexing(OFDm).This paper studies optical OFDm performance based on Intensity modulation with Direct Detection(Im/DD)*** system requires a non-negativity *** paper presents a framework for wireless optical OFDm system that comprises(Im/DD)with different forms,Direct Current biased Optical OFDm(DCO-OFDm),Asymmetrically Clipped Optical OFDm(ACO-OFDm),Asymmetrically DC-biased Optical OFDm(ADO-OFDm),and *** also considers channel coding as a tool for error control,channel equalization for reducing deterioration due to channel effects,and investigation of the turbulence *** evaluation results of the proposed framework reveal enhancement of *** performance of the Im/DD-OFDm system is investigated over different channel models such as AWGN,log-normal turbulence channel model,and ceiling bounce channel *** simulation results show that the BER performance of the Im/DD-OFDm communication system is enhanced while the fading strength is *** results reveal also that Hamming codes,BCH codes,and convolutional codes achieve better BER ***,two algorithms of channel estimation and equalization are considered and *** algorithms include the Least Squares(LS)and the minimum mean Square Error(mmSE).The simulation results show that the mmSE algorithm gives better BER performance than the LS algorithm.

BACKGROUND Childhood cancer survivors are potentially at a higher risk of infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV).The effects of all-oral direct-acting antiviral therapy (DAA) on both the HCV infection as well as the state of cancer remission have not been well investigated in this *** To test the effects of dual sofosbuvir/daclatasvir (SOF/DCV) therapy in the treatment of chronic HCV in survivors of hematologic malignancy in pediatric age *** We conducted a prospective,uncontrolled,open-label multicenter study.A total of 20 eligible,chronic HCV,genotype-4,infected children who had been in continuous complete remission from hematologic cancer (leukemia/lymphoma) for at least one year were included in the *** patients were treated with combined SOF/DCV for 12 *** were monitored throughout the study till 12 wk after end of treatment for safety and efficacy outcomes including the sustained virologic response 12 (SVR12) rate,hematological indices,liver and kidney *** The intent-to-treat SVR12 rate was 20 of 20 (100%;95%CI: 84%-100%).All patients showed normalized liver enzymes from *** hematological indices,liver and kidney functions were kept normal throughout the *** fatalities or treatment-emergent serious or severe adverse events were reported throughout the *** SOF/DCV combined therapy could be used safely and effectively in the treatment of chronic HCV genotype-4 infection in leukemia/lymphoma treated *** relapses were detected during treatment and throughout the follow up period for either the original malignant disease or the HCV infection.

Hyperspectral imaging is gaining a significant role in agricultural remote sensing *** data unit is the hyperspectral cube which holds spatial information in two dimensions while spectral band information of each pixel in the third *** classification accuracy of hyperspectral images(HSI)increases significantly by employing both spatial and spectral *** this work,the data was acquired using an airborne hyperspectral imager system which collected HSI in the visible and near-infrared(VNIR)range of 400 to 1000 nm wavelength within 180 spectral *** dataset is collected for nine different crops on agricultural land with a spectral resolution of 3.3 nm wavelength for each *** data was cleaned from geometric distortions and stored with the class labels and annotations of global localization using the inertial navigation *** this study,a unique pixel-based approach was designed to improve the crops'classification accuracy by using the edge-preserving features(EPF)and principal component analysis(PCA)in *** preliminary processing generated the high-dimensional EPF stack by applying the edge-preserving filters on acquired *** the second step,this high dimensional stack was treated with the PCA for dimensionality reduction without losing significant spectral *** resultant feature space(PCA-EPF)demonstrated enhanced class separability for improved crop classification with reduced dimensionality and computational *** support vector machines classifier was employed for multiclass classification of target crops using *** classification performance evaluation was measured in terms of individual class accuracy,overall accuracy,average accuracy,and Cohen kappa *** proposed scheme achieved greater than 90%results for all the performance evaluation *** PCA-EPF proved to be an effective attribute for crop classification using hyperspectral imaging in the VNIR *** proposed scheme

Lymphocytic colitis: A clue to bacterial etiology

AIm： To find out the role of bacteria as a possible etiological factor in lymphocytic colitis. mETHODS： Twenty patients with histopathological diagnosis of lymphocytic colitis and 10 normal controls were included in this study. Colonoscopic biopsies were obtained from three sites （hepatic and splenic flexures and rectosigmoid region）. Each biopsy was divided into two parts. A fresh part was incubated on special cultures for bacterial growth. The other part was used for the preparation of histologic tissue sections that were examined for the presence of bacteria with the help of Giemsa stain. RESULTS： Culture of tissue biopsies revealed bacterial growth in 18 out of 20 patients with lymphocytic colitis mostly Escherichia coil （14/18）, which was found in all rectosigmoid specimens （14/14）, but only in 8/14 and 6/14 of splenic and hepatic flexure specimens respectively. In two of these cases, E coli was associated with proteus. Proteus was found only in one case, Klebsiella in two cases, and Staphylococcus aureus in one case. In the control group, only 2 out of 10 controls showed the growth of E coli in their biopsy cultures. Histopathology showed rod-shaped bacilli in the tissue sections of 12 out of 14 cases with positive E coli in their specimen＇s culture. None of the controls showed these bacteria in histopathological sections. CONCLUSION： This preliminary study reports an association between E coli and lymphocytic colitis, based on histological and culture observations. Serotyping and molecular studies are in process to assess the role of E coli in the pathogenesis of lymphocytic colitis.

Patient privacy and data protection have been crucial concerns in Ehealthcare systems for many *** modern-day applications,patient data usually holds clinical imagery,records,and other medical ***,the Internet of medical Things(IomT),equipped with cloud computing,has come out to be a beneficial paradigm in the healthcare ***,the openness of networks and systems leads to security threats and illegal ***,reliable,fast,and robust security methods need to be developed to ensure the safe exchange of healthcare data generated from various image sensing and other IomT-driven devices in the IomT *** paper presents an image protection scheme for healthcare applications to protect patients’medical image data exchanged in IomT *** proposed security scheme depends on an enhanced 2D discrete chaotic map and allows dynamic substitution based on an optimized highly-nonlinear S-box and diffusion to gain an excellent security *** optimized S-box has an excellent nonlinearity score of *** new image protection scheme is efficient enough to exhibit correlation values less than 0.0022,entropy values higher than 7.999,and NPCR values around 99.6%.To reveal the efficacy of the scheme,several comparison studies are *** comparison studies reveal that the novel protection scheme is robust,efficient,and capable of securing healthcare imagery in IomT systems.
