Background and aim:Advanced liver fibrosis is a major risk for developing hepat.cellular carcinoma(HCC)in chronic hepat.t.s C virus(HCV)***-act.ng ant.virals(DAAs)which are used for t.eat.ng HCV infect.on,produce more t.an 90%cure rat. but.do not.seem t. diminish t.e rat. of occurrence or recurrence of *** st.dy aimed t. invest.gat. t.e effect.of DAAs sofosbuvir(SOF)and daclat.svir(DAC)on carbon t.t.achloride(CCl4)-induced fibrot.c changes in ***:Eight. adult.male Swiss albino mice were randomly allocat.d int. 8 groups(10 mice/group):normal cont.ol group,SOF group(receiving SOF 80 mg/kg body weight.BW),oral gavage,daily),DAC group(receiving DAC 30 mg/kg BW,oral gavage,daily),SOF t.DAC group(receiving a combinat.on of bot.,daily),CCl4 model group(receiving CCl42 mL/kg BW,int.aperit.neal t.ice weekly)and t.ree CCl4-int.xicat.d groups receiving eit.er SOF or DAC or t.eir *** CCl4 groups received CCl4 for 12 weeks followed by DAAs for anot.er 12 ***:CCl4-induced a significant.elevat.on of alanine aminot.ansferase(ALt.and aspart.t. aminot.ansferase(ASt.,and produced hist.pat.ological evidence of fibrosis and liver degenerat.on along wit. a significant.increase(P0.001)of t.e proliferat.on markers(proliferat.ng cell nuclear ant.gen(PCNA)and Ki-67),hepat.c st.llat. cells(HSCs)act.vat.on markers(alpha-smoot. muscle act.n(a-SMA)and glial fibrillary acidic prot.in(GFAP)),fibrosis marker(mat.ix met.lloprot.inase-9(MMP-9))and proinflammat.ry cyt.kine(t.mor necrosis fact.r-alpha(t.F-a)).CCl4-int.xicat.d mice t.eat.d wit. Object.ve: t. assess t.e role of cardiac t.oponin I(ct.I) in predict.ng out.ome aft.r percut.neous coronary int.rvent.on(PCI). Met.ods and result.: ct.I was measured immediat.ly before and at.6, 14, and 24 hours aft.r PCI in 316 consecut.ve pat.ent. wit. st.ble sympt.ms and nat.ve coronary art.ry disease. t.e st.dy end point.was t.e occurrence of major adverse cardiac event.(MACE) at.30 days and at.18 mont.s aft.r PCI: deat., Q wave myocardial infarct.on(MI), or repeat.revascularisat.on in hospit.l. Post.rocedural ct.I increased in 31%of pat.ent.. t.e cumulat.ve MACE rat. at.18 mont.s was 25%(17.7%due t. repeat.PCI procedures). t.ere was a significant.associat.on bet.een post.rocedural ct.I increase and deat., Q wave MI, or bot.(odds rat.o(OR) 3.28, 95%confidence int.rval(CI) 1.7 t. 6.4, p=0.01). Post.PCI ct.I increase had a posit.ve predict.ve value(PPV) for adverse event. at.18 mont.s of 0.47 and a negat.ve predict.ve value(NPV) of 0.96(OR 18.9, 95%CI 9.7 t. 37, pt.e presence of bot. a post.rocedural ct.I rise and a procedural angiographic complicat.on gave a PPV for adverse event. of 0.69 and an NPV of 0.92(OR 22.6, 95%CI 2.6 t. 68.6, p=0.0005). Conclusions: ct.I increased post.procedurally in one t.ird of t.is st.ble pat.ent.populat.on undergoing elect.ve PCI and was independent.y and significant.y predict.ve of an increased risk of adverse event. at.18 mont.s, predominant.y in t.e form of repeat.PCI.

t.ere is growing int.rest.in re-evaluat.on of older ant.biot.cs wit. t.e wide spread of pat.ogen resist.nce, especially gram negat.ve bact.ria, which impair t.eat.ent.of some infect.ons. In cont.ast.various st.dies have report.d t.at.some ant.biot.cs have efficacy in clearing resist.nt.bact.rial infect.ons. On account.of t.at.it.was int.rest.ng t. evaluat. t.e efficacy of eryt.romycin, chloramphenicol and/or t.noxicam in curing and/or relieving wound infect.on of highly resist.nt.Escherichia coli and invest.gat. t.e possible mechanisms beyond t.eir ant.bact.rial act.vit.. t.is was achieved t.rough evaluat.ng highly resist.nt.E. coli st.ains in vit.o using agar dilut.on and in vivo rat.models of E. coli infect.d wound and acut. inflammat.on by carrageenin, where possible mechanisms were evaluat.d t.rough measuring immunological mediat.rs and hist.pat.ological examinat.on. t.is st.dy revealed t.at.in vivo, eryt.romycin alone or in combinat.on wit. t.noxicam significant.y improved t.e healing of infect.d skin wounds wit. E. coli irresspect.ve of resist.ncy in vit.o. In addit.on t. t.e improvement.of immunological mediat.rs involved in inflammat.ry react.on, oxidat.ve st.ess and in cyt.kines expression as response t. t.e bact.rial infect.on in vivo. On t.e ot.er hand chloramphenicol neit.er alone nor in combinat.on wit. t.noxicam, achieved any significant.effect. t.noxicam didn’t.show ant.microbial act.vit. alone nor in combinat.on wit. t.st.d ant.biot.cs in vit.o, but.it.has shown synergest.c act.vit. in combinat.on wit. t.st.d ant.biot.cs in vivo. t.us we concluded t.at.immunomodulat.ry act.vit. of eryt.romycin t.rough ant.-inflammat.ry and ant.oxidant.effect. was t.e possible mechanisms by which t.is ant.biot.c had healed infect.on wit. resist.nt.E. coli in vivo, despit. it. resist.ncy t. t.is ant.biot.c in vit.o.
