Introduction: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus2 (SARS-CoV-2) represents a major health problem worldwide. Thus, early detection and appropriate management of the virus will influence the outcome of the disease. This study aimed to investigate the epidemiological characteristics and survival outcomes of patients with COVID-19 infection in Kassala, Eastern Sudan. Methods: A cross-sectional hospital-study was conducted among patients visiting Kassala teaching hospital with suspicion of COVID-19 infection. A structured questionnaire was used to gather clinical and socio-demo- graphic information from COVID-19 patients. Nasopharyngeal specimens and blood samples were collected and tested to confirm the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection using RT-PCR. Results: A total of 371 patients were enrolled in the study from September 2020 to January 2021, with mean age ± SD was 42.9 ± 19.9. The prevalence of COVID-19 infection was estimated at 61.7%. The majority were males 159 (69.4%), of university-level education, 96 (49.7%), and urban residents, 175 (9.7%). The most common symptoms were fever 215 (93.9%), cough 188 (82.1%), headache 179 (78.2%), and shortness of breath 154 (67.2%). Overall all mortality was reported as 16%. Older age group with the age ≥ 70, P P = 0.020, diabetes mellitus P = 0.029 were significantly associated with high case fatality. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that older age, male gender, laboratory tests (leukocytosis, lymphopenia, low Hemoglobin and high CRP) and various comorbid conditions significantly increase the disease severity and mortality. Therefore, attention should be paid to preventive measures to reduce the considerable impacts of the disease.

Enzymes which are biological catalyst composed of amino acids with minerals and vitamins. The use of enzymes has many benefits in poultry diets include not only enhanced feed conversion and bird performance but also reduced output of excreta problems of environment. The present research work was conducted to evaluate the effect of phytase enzyme on growth performance and blood profile of broiler. Birds were arbitrarily separated into four groups, i.e. Group A (control) was offered 0 g/kg, 0.05 g/kg (group B), 0.075 g/kg (group C) and 0.025 g/kg (group D) phytase enzyme provided in broiler feed. Parameters which were selected in present research work as, feed intake, live body weight, feed conversion ratio, growth performance and blood profile. Results showed that the maximum chicken body weight was noted in group C and feed intake was minimum in group C, as compared to other groups. Feed conversion ratio was significantly (p < 0.05) higher in group C, followed by other groups the non-significantly variance founded respectively, the highest weight of liver, gizzard, heart, intestine were noted in treated group C comparatively, highest spleen weight was in group B and in group A (control) the minimum weight of spleen was noted and the average blood profile of broiler chicks in different groups, the white blood cells was significantly higher in group D followed by group A, group B and C. Red blood cells was significantly (P < 0.05) better in group C. Haemoglobin was significant differences in different groups of trial. A significant (P < 0.05) difference in Packed cells volume in group A followed by group B, C and D. Total protein in group A was minimum followed by group B, C and D, respectively. From the present study, it was concluded that supplementation of 0.075 g/kg phytase enzyme has a better effect on growth performance and blood profile of broiler.

本文针对信息系统评价中涉及的成本和收益难以理解和预测的问题,开展信息系统评价方法研究.已有的信息系统评价的文献中,用于信息系统评价指标可以归纳为:财务、非财务、显性和隐性方面.本文在对信息系统评价的文献进行梳理的基础上,建立了包括内部环境和外部环境的信息系统评价指标体系,运用图论处理评价信息系统中的隐性因素,采用网页排序算法计算隐性因素的权重.研究结果不仅给出信息系统的评价方法,而且有助于理解信息系统环境.文章最后给出了本文提出方法应用的一个示意性例子.

Management of Pregnant Women with Invasive Cervical Cancer about Ten Cases

The purpose of this study was to update the management of invasive cervical cancers diagnosed during pregnancy. Patients and methods: This study was performed retrospectively at radiotherapy department of National Institute of Oncology Rabat Morocco. From 01/04/2005 to 31/05/2010, ten patients with invasive cervical cancer during pregnancy were included. Results: Ten patients were included in the study. The staging was as follow: stage IIIB (n = 4);stage IIB (n = 2) and stage IB2 (n = 4). The radical abdominal hysterectomy with pelvic lymphadenectomy was performed in five patients;a therapeutic interruption of pregnancy was performed in four patients. One pregnancy has resulted in the birth of a living child (by cesarean section). Adjuvant treatment was concomitant chemoradiotherapy followed by low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy in three patients;adjuvant concomitant chemoradiotherapy followed by high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy was performed in four patients;a HDR brachytherapy was done in one patient. Two patients have received an exclusive external radiotherapy. After a median follow-up of 4 years (2 - 7 years), there were bone and lung metastases in one patient. Nine patients are alive after completed treatment. Conclusion: Our series focused on ten patients with invasive cervical cancer during pregnancy. Management is complex and requires discussion in a multidisciplinary meeting. Routine screening of cervical cancer and awareness are the key point to improve the treatment and survival rate of patients. The management of all cases is according to international recommendations.

The management of locally advanced unresectable head and neck squamous cell cancer(HNSCC) continues to improve. One of the major advances in the treatment of HNSCC was the addition of chemotherapy to radiation in the treatment of non-surgical patients. The majority of the data regarding chemotherapy in HNSCC involve cisplatin chemotherapy with concurrent radiation. However, several new approaches have included targeted therapy against epidermal growth factor receptor and several recent studies have explored the role of induction chemotherapy in the treatment of HNSCC. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the role of chemotherapy in the treatment of locally advanced HNSCC.

杂种劣势是存在于自然种群之间的一种合子后生殖障碍,水稻杂种劣势的研究有利于探讨种间、亚种间和亚种内杂交不亲和原因,对建立新的杂种优势利用模式具有重要的理论及实践意义。本研究旨在通过对三个韩国粳稻劣势亲本"Aranghyangchalbyeo"(CH7)、"Sanghaehyangheolua"(CH8)和"Shinseonchalbyeo"(CH9)及其杂交后代(F1, F2)的生物学特征、特性进行比较,解析水稻粳稻亚种内杂种劣势的遗传模式;同时利用单倍型分析和图位克隆比对,探明CH8和CH9两个劣势亲本中所携带的劣势相关基因序列差异。结果表明,携带劣势基因的亲本自身生长正常,但正反交后F1表现稳定且明显的杂种劣势,F2群体中劣势植株与正常植株呈现9:7的分离,推断该杂种劣势的表型由两个互补的显性基因控制;劣势亲本CH8第1号染色体携带了稀有的劣势基因Hwc1;劣势亲本CH9不携带Hwc1和Hwc2基因,可能携带了其他劣势基因。该结果为揭示杂种劣势的基因多样性及分子遗传机制提供了科学依据。

黄素单加氧酶(flavin-containing monooxygenase, FMO)是一种微粒体酶,目前研究多集中在人类中,植物中研究较少;植物FMOs则与生长素合成、信号传导、极性运输以及病原防御等有关,其中报导过的YU-CCA基因与花发育密切相关。本研究从水稻野生型黎榆B (O. sativa L. ssp. japonica)基因组中克隆了一个未知功能的新基因OsFMO1,生物信息学分析表明,水稻OsFMO1基因位于水稻第9号染色体上,cDNA全长2 100 bp,包含4个外显子,3个内含子,共有519个氨基酸,具有FMO-like家族的保守结构域。本研构建了植物融合表达载体pOsFMO1::GUS和pCaMV35S::OsFMO1:RNAi,用于基因表达和功能分析,使用农杆菌介导法获得了转基因植株。化学组织染色结果表明,OsFMO1在不同时期不同组织中均有表达。在减数分裂期在幼穗和叶茎上表达最为强烈。通过RT-PCR结果显示该目的基因在不同时期在叶片和叶鞘中均有表达,但表达量有明显的不同。结果表明OsFMO1基因可影响植物的生长素合成、信号传导、极性运输以及水稻的生长发育。该研究结果为进一步研究水稻OsFMO1基因在水稻生长发育以及生产量上的研究提供了科学依据。

小G蛋白家族中的亚家族ADP-核糖基化因子(ADP-ribosylation factor, ARF),在生物体内起众多的生理作用,参与基因表达、细胞骨架重组装、微管的形成以及囊泡和核孔运输等。本研究已成功克隆得到ARF基因家族中的一个新基因OsARFL5,系统进化分析表明该基因与SiARFC1亲缘关系较近;以该基因和其启动子序列构建了两种遗传转化表达载体(pOsARFL5::GUS, pCaMV35S::OsARFL5:EGFP),并获得了相应遗传载体的转基因植株;GUS染色结果表明,该基因在不同时期、不同组织部位表达;洋葱表皮亚细胞定位结果显示,Os ARFL5基因编码的蛋白定位在细胞核。RT-PCR结果显示,OsARFL5在水稻不同生育期的根、茎、叶、叶鞘和穗子中均有不同程度的表达。本研究初步探明了ARF基因家族新成员OsARFL5在水稻生长发育过程中的表达模式。

Electron magnetic resonance (EMR) spectroscopy, X-ray-fluorescent microscopy (XFM) and thermal analysis (TGA/DTA) are used to characterize the carbon nano-phase obtained in the reaction between fine-dispersed aluminum and dichloroethane in the liquid paraffin medium and its modified with Mn(II), Fe(III), Ni(II), Cu(II) chlorides forms were studied.. It was shown that the solid nano-structured functionalized carbon systems containing metals possess specific magnetic and thermal properties. Key parameters of the process, influencing on the size and structure of the formed carbon nano-phase were determined. Results and regularities established in this work create presumably the certain basis for optimization of physical and chemical properties of similar systems
