Current perspectives on mesenchymal stromal cell therapy for graft versus host disease

Graft versus host disease(GvHD)is the clinical condition in which bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells(MsCs)have been most frequently *** this review,we summarize the experience from clinical trials that have paved the way to *** MsC-based therapy has shown an exceptional safety profile,identifying potency assays and disease biomarkers that reliably predict the capacity of a specific MSC batch to alleviate GvHD has been *** GvHD diagnosis and staging are based solely on clinical criteria,individual patients recruited in the same clinical trial may have vastly different underlying biology,obscuring trial outcomes and making it difficult to determine the benefit of MsCs in subgroups of *** accumulating body of evidence indicates the importance of considering not only the cell product but also patient-specific biomarkers and/or immune characteristics in determining MSC responsiveness.A mode of action where intravascular MSC destruction is followed by monocyte-efferocytosis-mediated skewing of the immune repertoire in a permissive inflammatory environment would both explain why cell engraftment is irrelevant for MsC efficacy and stress the importance of biologic differences between responding and nonresponding *** recommend a combined analysis of clinical outcomes and both biomarkers of disease activity and MSC potency assays to identify patients with GvHD who are likely to benefit from MSC therapy.

In this paper,the(3+1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation is studied *** bilinear form of given model is achieved by using the Hirota bilinear *** a result,the lump waves and col-lisions between lumps and periodic waves,the collision among lump wave and single,double-kink soliton solutions as well as the collision between lump,periodic,and single,double-kink soliton solutions for the given model are ***,some new traveling wave solutions are developed by applying the exp(−φ(ξ))expansion *** 3D,2D and contours plots are drawn to demonstrate the nature of the nonlinear model for setting appropriate set of *** a result,a collection of bright,dark,periodic,rational function and elliptic function solutions are *** applied strategies appear to be more powerful and efficient approaches to construct some new traveling wave structures for various contemporary models of recent era.

In the last decade,micro-architected structures have gained significant attention in academia and industry for their lightweight,strong,and thermally efficient *** by biomimicry design,this paper presents a novel ribbed family of additively manufactured Micro-Architected Domes(MAD).The design incorporates tetrapod pyramid unit cells,golden ratio-based fractal patterns,Schoen’s Minimal Gyroid,and spherical *** study focuses on dome radius,height,and azimuth/elevation partitioning as input variables,with the main output being ribbed micro-cell *** relationships between unit-cells’diameter and input variables were established through problem-solving and numerical computations:linear dependency with the dome radius and hyperbolic dependency with the azimuth and elevation *** proposed design successfully adhered to the Surface-to-Volume ratio of Schoen’s Minimal Gyroid,achieving an average volume relative density of 2.5%,confirming its lightweight *** feasibility of the design was further supported by fabricating three specimens using Filament Fused *** research showcases the potential of biomimicry-inspired micro-architected structures,paving the way for innovative applications in various fields.

First-Principles Calculations on Novel Rb-Based Halide Double Perovskites Alloys for Spintronics and Optoelectronic Applications

The outcomes of computational study of electronic, magnetic and optical spectra for A2BX6 (A = Rb;B = Tc, Pb, Pt, Sn, W, Ir, Ta, Sb, Te, Se, Mo, Mn, Ti, Zr and X = Cl, Br) materials have been proceeded utilizing Vanderbilt Ultra Soft Pseudo Potential (US-PP) process. The Rb2PbBr6 and Rb2PbCl6 are found to be a (Г-Г) semiconductors with energy gaps of 0.275 and 1.142 eV, respectively making them promising photovoltaic materials. The metallic behavior of the materials for Rb2BX6 (B = Tc, W, Ir, Ta, Mn, Sb, Mo) has been confirmed showing the attendance of conducting lineaments. The dielectric function is found to be large close to the ultraviolet districts (3.10 - 4.13 eV). The extinction coefficient of the Rb2BX6 has the ability to be used for implements. The band structures and density of states ensure the magnetic semiconductors’ nature of the Rb2Mn (Cl, Br)6 perovskites. The total calculated magnetic moment of Rb2MnCl6 and Rb2MnB6 is 3.00μβ. Advanced spintronic technology requires room-temperature ferromagnetism. The present work confirms that, bromine and chlorine-founded double perovskites are extremely attractive for photovoltaic and optoelectronic devices.

In the medical and dental field, the importance and need for the study of materials and drugs for use as bone grafts or regeneration in injured areas due to the presence of fractures, infections or tumors that cause extensive loss of bone tissue is observed. Bone is a specialized, vascularized and dynamic connective tissue that changes throughout the life of the organism. When injured, it has a unique ability to regenerate and repair without the presence of scars, but in some situations, due to the size of the defect, the bone tissue does not regenerate completely. Thus, due to its importance, there is a great development in therapeutic approaches for the treatment of bone defects through studies that include autografts, allografts and artificial materials used alone or in association with bone grafts. Pharmaceuticals composed of biomaterials and osteogenic active substances have been extensively studied because they provide potential for tissue regeneration and new strategies for the treatment of bone defects. Statins work as specific inhibitors of 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMG-CoAreductase). They represent efficient drugs in lowering cholesterol, as they reduce platelet aggregation and thrombus deposition;in addition, they promote angiogenesis, reduce the β-amyloid peptide related to Alzheimer’s disease and suppress the activation of T lymphocytes. Furthermore, these substances have been used in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and coronary artery disease. By inhibiting HMG-CoAreductase, statins not only inhibit cholesterol synthesis, but also exhibit several other beneficial pleiotropic effects. Therefore, there has been increasing interest in researching the effects of statins, including Simvastatin, on bone and osteometabolic diseases. However, statins in high doses cause inflammation in bone defects and inhibit osteoblastic differentiation, negatively contributing to bone repair. Effect of early atopic sensitization in children aged 0–2 years on the development of asthma symptoms at 9–11 years of age

Background Personal genetic predisposition and early life environmental factors are important for the development of childhood *** aimed to search whether egg,milk and mite sensitizations at 0–2 years old are risk factors for asthma symptoms at 9–11 years *** A total of 210 wheezer children who had specific immunoglobulin(Ig)E in 2010–2012 were included in the study(followed by pediatric allergy).Patients were divided into non-atopic(group 1,n=157)and atopic patients[groups 2–7,n=53(5 patients were in both group 4 and group 5)]based on *** the International Study of Asthma and Allergy in Childhood questionnaire,current wheeze(CW,2nd question),exercise wheezing(EW,7th question),and dry cough(DC,8th question)were ***,parental allergies,eczema at 0–2 years,current eosinophil percentage and total IgE were *** Eczema was observed as an important risk factor[CW:odds ratio(OR)=2.83,95%confidence interval(CI)=1.54–5.23,P≤0.001;EW:OR=2.71,95%CI=1.33–5.54,P=0.006;DC:OR=3.03,95%CI=1.47–6.25,P=0.003],whereas having no atopic sensitization at 0–2-year-old(group 1)was found as a significant protective factor for asthma at 9–11 years old(CW:OR=0.32,95%CI=0.15–0.70,P=0.004;EW:OR=0.21,95%CI 0.10–0.44,P≤0.001;DC:OR=0.25,95%CI=0.10–0.59,P=0.002).Conclusion Early personal eczema is a significant risk factor for the development of asthma symptoms at 9–11 years old,whereas not having an allergic sensitization at 0–2 years old(group 1)is an important protective factor.

Solar air heaters are at the centre of interest owing to their widespread use for various *** the study,thermal performance analysis of a solar air heater that can be easily produced from daily waste materials is *** system has a low-cost structure with both waste material use and a simple *** proposed system is tested under different climatic conditions,and the energetic and the exergetic performance figures are obtained for the first time in *** is observed from the experimental tests that the results are stable and coherent as well as in good accordance with the similar attempts in literature with some cost reductions and performance *** performance analyses indicate that the maximum energy efficiency of the system is about 21%,whereas the exergy efficiency is 1.8%.The energetic and exergetic outputs of the system are also determined to be 27 W and 3 W,respectively,which is promising.

Numerical Study of Temperature and Electric Field Effects on the Total Optical Absorption Coefficient in the Presence of Optical Inter-Conduction-Subband Transitions in InGaN/GaN Single Parabolic Quantum Wells

In this paper,we theoretically investigate the total optical coefficient(TOAC)considering 1S-2P and 2S-2P conduction subband transitions in a single parabolic quantum well(SPQW)with an on-center hydrogen-like *** the framework of the effective-mass approximation,the Schrödinger equation is solved numerically to obtain the eigenvalues and their corresponding eigenvectors using the finite difference *** calculations are performed for finite confinement potential height,taking into account the dielectric and effective mass mismatches between GaN and InGaN materials under the considered electric field and temperature *** temperature dependence of the effective mass,dielectric constant and band gap energy are obtained *** the one hand,the results show that a significant shift is produced with the variation of both the temperature and the intensity of the electric *** the other hand,the absorption spectrum is shifted to lower energies with increasing both electric field strength and ***,its amplitude is enhanced with an increase in the intensity of the electric field,and show a slight drop with increasing temperature for the two optical transitions *** results show that such parameters can be used to adjust the optical properties of single parabolic Quantum Well for solar cell applications.

Diagnosis, seismic analysis and reinforcement of an old building in El-Maleh, Algeria

The Northern part of Algeria is considered to be the most active seismogenic area in the Western Mediterranean region. This area has a rich history of seismicity and had experienced many destructive earthquakes such as the Chlef （1954）, El-Asnam （1980）, Beni-Chograne （1994）, AYn-Temouchent （1999） and recently Boumerdes （2003） earthquakes. The earthquake of AYn-Temouchent on December 22, 1999, was of magnitude 5,7, killed at least 28 people and made thousands of families homeless. Consequent damage was seen in all the structures located in a radius of 30 kin. In the city of E1-Maleh, located 12 km northeast of Ain-Temouchent, the ＂The National Bank Branch＂ of E1-Maleh suffered moderate damage, but enough to justify questions about its safety. The project of rehabilitating this building required a broad analysis of its static and dynamic, past and present behaviors. The study reported in this paper was a necessary preliminary step toward the development of an optimal retrofit solution.
