Our aim is to clarify mud volcanoes from the new mud diapirs resulting from the seismic attributes analysis applied to the low resolution Burmah oil “1973-1974” seismic data. The latter was carried out on the Larache and Tanger-Larache offshores from the NE-SW Atlantic margin. The high resolution seismic data was essential for this evaluation. In this case, we applied seismic signature analysis to four seismic profiles from the map of the seismic data set, which includes all new mud diapirs. This helped us to classify different types of mud diapirs within the seismic profiles. And as a result, six deep mud diapirs from the Prerifaine Nappe of Morocco, a shallow mud diapir, and four seafloor-piercing mud diapirs have been observed. Furthermore, the seafloor-piercing mud diapirs show a mushroom-shaped and conical-shaped cone. As they break through the seafloor, these kinds of cones characterize mud volcanoes. In this case, we may conclude that the resultant seafloor-piercing mud diapirs are likely to be mud volcanoes. However, more geological sampling and seafloor observation are still required.

The effects of dietary zinc and L-arginine supplements on the weight gain,feed efficiency,antioxidant capacity and oxidative status of weanling piglets raised under commercial conditions were examined.A total of 288 piglets aged 21 d were fed for 15 d a diet supplemented or not with 2,500 mg/kg of zinc(provided as zinc oxide)and 1% L-arginine *** 4 treatments were distributed in a randomized complete block design with 6 initial body weight categories(12 animals per pen).Access to feed and water was ad *** were analyzed as a 2 x 2 factorial experiment using the SAS MIXED procedure,with zinc and arginine as the main independent *** collection day(d 8 and 15,samples were collected from the same 2 piglets in each pen before the morning feeding)was included as a third *** zinc supplement increased the average daily gain(ADG)from d 0 to 7.d 8 to 15 and d 0 to 15(0.289 vs.0.217 kg/d).average daily feed intake(ADFR)from d 8 to 15 and d 0 to 15(0.338 vs.0.279 kg/d)and the gain to feed(G:F)ratio from d 0 to 7 and d 0 to 15(0.86 vs.0.77)(P<0.001).Both supplements significantly decreased the malondialdehyde concentration(zinc:4.37 vs.3.91 μmol/L,P= 0.005;arginine:4.38 vs.3.89 μmol/L,P = 0.002).Total antioxidant capacity and reduced glutathione(GSH)increased from d 8 to 15(0.953 vs.1.391 μmol/L,2.22 vs.3.37 μmol/L,P<0.05)regardless of dietary *** and oxidized GSH concentrations on d 8 were higher in response to the combined supplements(zinc x arginine interaction.P<0.05).Piglets fed either Zn-supplemented diet had a lower haptoglobin serum concentration(509 vs.1.417 mg/L;P<0.001).In conclusion,the zinc supplement improved piglet growth performance(ADG and ADFI)and oxidative status(based on malondialdehyde concentration).The arginine supplement had a limited effect on growth performance and oxidative status under these conditions.

Land use/land cover (LULC) mapping and change detection are fundamental aspects of remote sensing data application. Therefore, selecting an appropriate classifier approach is crucial for accurate classification and change assessment. In the first part of this study, the performance of machine learning classification algorithms was compared using Landsat 9 image (2023) of the Manouba government (Tunisia). Three different classification methods were applied: Maximum Likelihood Classification (MLC), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Random Trees (RT). The classification aimed to identify five land use classes: urban area, vegetation, bare area, water and forest. A qualitative assessment was conducted using Overall Accuracy (OA) and the Kappa coefficient (K), derived from a confusion matrix. The results of the land cover classification demonstrated a high level of accuracy. The SVM method exhibited the best performance, with an overall accuracy of 93% and a kappa accuracy of 0.9. The ML method is the second-best classifier with an overall accuracy of 92% and a kappa accuracy of 0.88. The Random Trees method yielded the lowest accuracy among the three approaches, with an overall accuracy of 91% and a kappa accuracy of 0.87. The second part of the study focused on analyzing LULC changes in the study area. Based on the classification results, the SVM method was chosen to classify the Landsat 7 image acquired in 2000. LULC changes from 2000 to 2023 were investigated using change detection comparison. The findings indicate that over the last 23 years, vegetation land and urban areas in the study area have experienced significant increases of 31.94% and 5.47%, respectively. This study contributed to a better understanding of the classification process and dynamic LULC changes in the Manouba region. It provided valuable insights for decision-makers in planning land conservation and management.

The removal of cadmium（Cd） from synthetic solutions by batch adsorption process was performed using eggshell powder, which is mainly composed of calcite（CaCO3）. In order to optimize the adsorption process, a re- sponse surface methodology（RSM） based on Central Composite Design（CCD） was applied. Developed model for Cd removal yields（R, %） response was statistically validated by variance analysis（ANOVA） which showed a high de- termination coefficient value（R2=0.9889）. According to Minitab software, the optimal conditions were found at tem- perature of 44℃, eggshell adsorbent dose of 2.98 g, initial Cd concentration of 36.74 mg/L and initial pH of 7. Under these conditions, the Cd removal yield was 98.76%. The deviation value of 1.24% confirms the validity of the model for the adsorption process optimization. The adsorption isotherm has been described by a Freundlich model. In addition, the predominant sorption mechanisms are the chemisorptions or precipitation（non-reversible） and ion ex- change（reversible）.

The aim of this study was to investigate antibacterial activity of Origanum compactum essential oils collected at three phenological stages on Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis. The antibacterial activity was evaluated using the agar-well diffusion assay. The MIC and MBC values were determined using the micro-dilution assay. The investigation of the antibacterial action was carried out by the evaluation of the effect of O. compactum essential oils on the antibacterial kinetic growth, the integrity of cell membrane and permeability of the cell membrane. The anti-quorum sensing activity was tested by the inhibition of the biofilm formation. The findings of this study showed that O. compactum essential oil has potent antibacterial activities against E. coli and B. subtilis. The lowest inhibition value against B. subtilis was obtained with O. compactum essential oil at the post-flowering stage (MIC=MBC=0.0312%(v/v)). The antibacterial mechanisms of O. compactum essential oils are related to the disturbing of the cell membrane integrity and the increasing of the membrane permeability, which leads to the leakage of genetic materials (DNA and RNA). Moreover, O. compactum essential oils inhibited the formation of the biofilms, a phenotype that has been known to be quorum sensing regulated.

It is well known that the safety and efficacy profile of an inhaled cortocosteroid(ICS) is influenced by the pharmacokinetic properties and associated pharmacodynamic effects of the drug. Freely circulating,protein unbound, and active ICS can cause systemic adverse effects. Therefore, a detailed investigation of drug-protein interaction could be of great interest to understand the pharmacokinetic behaviour of corticosteroids and for the design of new analogues with effective pharmacological properties. In the present work, the interaction between some corticosteroids and human serum albumin(HSA) has been studied by spectroscopic approaches. UV–Vis spectroscopy confirmed that all the investigated corticosteroids can bind to HSA forming a protein-drug complex. The intrinsic fluorescence of HSA was quenched by all the investigated drugs, which was rationalized in terms of a static quenching mechanism. The thermodynamic parameters determined by the Van't Hoff analysis of the binding constants(negative ΔH and ΔS values) clearly indicate thathydrogen bonds and van der Waals forces play a major role in the binding process between albumin and betamethasone, flunisolide and prednisolone, while hydrophobic forces may play a major role in stabilizing albumin-triamcinolone complexes.

To better understand the salinity effect on the compaction behaviour of soil,standard Proctor compaction test was conducted on soil samples with different *** suction and small-strain shear modulus,G_(max),were determined and pore size distribution was also investigated on samples statically compacted at different water *** showed that with the decrease of soil salinity from initial value of 2.1‰(g of salt/kg of dry soil)to zero,the maximum dry density increased and the optimum water content decreased,whereas there was no significant change with the increase of soil salinity from 2.1‰ to 6.76‰.Interestingly,it was observed that G_(max) also decreased when the soil salinity decreased from initial value of 2.1‰ to zero and kept almost constant when the soil salinity increased from 2.1‰ to 6.76‰,for dry samples with similar matric suction and also for samples compacted at optimum state and on wet side whose matric suctions were slightly different due to the difference in remoulded water ***,the effect of salinity on compaction behaviour and G_(max) decreased for samples compacted from dry side to wet *** pore size distribution exhibited bi-modal characteristics with two populations of micro-and macro-pores not only for samples compacted on dry side and at optimum state,but also for those compacted on wet *** examination showed that the modal size of micro-pores shifted to lower values and that of macro-pores shifted to higher values for saline soil compared to the soil without salt.

Recently, new low-energy modes of excitation called pygmy resonances have been *** distinct feature is the close connection to nuclear skin oscillations. A successful description of the pygmy resonances could be achieved in a microscopic theoretical approach which incorporates the density functional theory and QRPA formalism extended with multi-phonon degrees of freedom. The latter is found of crucial importance for the understanding of the fine structure of nuclear electric and magnetic excitations at low energies. Corresponding microscopic multi-phonon response functions are implemented in the studies of s-process of nucleosynthesis.
