Lip-reading technologies are rapidly progressing following the breakthrough of deep *** plays a vital role in its many applications,such as:human-machine communication practices or security *** this paper,we propose to develop an effective lip-reading recognition model for Arabic visual speech recognition by implementing deep learning *** Arabic visual datasets that have been collected contains 2400 records of Arabic digits and 960 records of Arabic phrases from 24 native *** primary purpose is to provide a high-performance model in terms of enhancing the preprocessing ***,we extract keyframes from our ***,we produce a Concatenated Frame Images(CFIs)that represent the utterance sequence in one single ***,the VGG-19 is employed for visual features extraction in our proposed *** have examined different keyframes:10,15,and 20 for comparing two types of approaches in the proposed model:(1)the VGG-19 base model and(2)VGG-19 base model with batch *** results show that the second approach achieves greater accuracy:94%for digit recognition,97%for phrase recognition,and 93%for digits and phrases recognition in the test ***,our proposed model is superior to models based on CFIs input.

Background The uncanny valley hypothesis states that users may experience discomfort when inter-acting with almost human-like artificial *** in artificial intelligence,robotics,and computer graphics have led to the development of life-like virtual humans and humanoid *** this hypothesis is necessary to check whether they positively or negatively affect the current population,who are highly accustomed to the latest *** In this study,we present a unique evaluation of the uncanny valley hypothesis by allowing participants to interact live with four humanoid robots that have varying levels of *** participant completed a survey questionnaire to evaluate the affinity of each ***,we used deep learning methods to quantify the participants’emotional states using multimodal cues,including visual,audio,and text cues,by recording the participant-robot *** Multi-modal analysis and surveys provided interesting results and insights into the uncanny valley hypothesis.

Liquid biopsies are a powerful tool to non-invasively analyze tumor phenotype and progression as well as drug *** the bone oncology field,liquid biopsies would be particularly important to develop,since standard biopsies can be very painful,dangerous(e.g.,when found in proximity to the spinal cord),and hard to *** this review,we explore the recent advances in liquid biopsies in both primary(osteosarcoma and Ewing sarcoma)and secondary bone cancers(breast,prostate,and lung cancer-induced bone metastases),presenting their current role and highlighting their unexpressed potential,as well as the barriers limiting their possible adoption,including costs,scalability,reproducibility,and isolation *** discuss the use of circulating tumor cells,cell-free circulating tumor DNA,and extracellular vesicles for the purpose of improving diagnosis,prognosis,evaluation of therapy resistance,and driving therapy decisions in both primary and secondary bone malignancies.
