Mucinous cystadenoma of the appendix is a rare condition and represents one of the three entities with the common name mucocele of the appendix. It is characterized by a cystic dilatation of the lumen with stasis of mucus inside it. Histopathologically mucocele is divided into three groups： focal or diffuse mucosal hyperplasia, mucinous cystadenoma and mucinous cystadenocarcinoma. This condition is often associated with other neoplasia, especially adenocarcinoma of the colon and ovaries. We here describe a 57 year old male patient who presented with abdominal discomfort, constipation, fresh blood in stool and frequent urination. He had a big cystadenoma of the appendix associated with adenocarcinoma of the colon and hepatocellular carcinoma of the liver. The patient underwent right haemicolectomy, sigmoid colon resection and segmental resection of the liven Now 3 years later he has no evidence of disease relapse. According to this, we stress the need of accurate preoperative diagnosis and intraoperative exploration of the whole abdomen in these patients.

Double common bile duct （DCBD） is a rare congenital anomaly in which two common bile ducts exist. One usually has normal drainage into the papilla duodeni major and the other usually named accessory common bile duct （ACBD） opens in different parts of upper gastrointestinal tract （stomach, duodenum, ductus pancreaticus or septum）. This anomaly is of great importance since it is often associated with biliary lithiasis, choledochal cyst, anomalous pancreaticobiliary junction （APBJ） and upper gastrointestinal tract malignancies. We recently recognized a rare case of DCBD associated with APB3 with lithiasis in better developed common bile duct. The opening site of ACBD was in the pancreatic duct. The anomaly was suspected by transabdominal ultrasonography and finally confirmed by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography （ERCP） followed by endoscopic sphincterotomy and stone extraction. According to the literature, the existence of DCBD with the opening of ACBD in the pancreatic duct is most frequently associated with APB3 and gallbladder carcinoma. In case of DCBD, the opening site of ACBD is of greatest clinical importance because of its close implications with concomitant pathology. The adequate diagnosis of this rare anomaly is significant since the operative complications may occur in cases with DCBD which is not recognized prior to surgical treatment.

AIM:To translate into Serbian and to investigate the validity of the cross-culturally adapted the chronic liver disease questionnaire(CLDQ).METHODS:The questionnaire was validated in 103 consecutive CLD patients treated between October 2009 and October 2010 at the Clinic for Gastroenterology,Clinical Centre of Serbia,Belgrade(Serbia).Exclusion criteria were:age ver failure,variceal bleeding,and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis),hepatic encephalopathy(grade > 2)and liver *** of the CLDQ was done based on the following parameters:(1)acceptance is shown by the proportion of missing items;(2)internal reliabilities were assessed for multiple item scales by using Cronbach alpha coefficient;and(3)in order to assess whether the allocation of items in the domain corresponds to their distribution in the original questionnaire(construction validity),an exploratory factor analysis was *** validity was determined by comparing the corresponding CLDQ score/sub-score in patients with different severity of the ***:The Serbian version of CLDQ questionnaire completed 98% *** of missing items was 0.06%.The total time needed to fill the questionnaire was ranged from 8 to 15 *** in completing the questionnaire required 4.8% patients,while 2.9% needed help in reading,and 1.9% involved writing *** mean age of the selected patients was 53.8 ± 12.9 years and 54.4% were *** CLDQ score was 4.62 ± ***'s alpha for the whole scale was *** for all domains was above 0.70,except for the domain "Activity"(0.49).The exploratory factor analysis model revealed 6 factors with eigenvalue of greater than 1,explaining 69.7% of cumulative *** majority of the items(66%)in the Serbian version of the CLDQ presented the highest loading weight in the domain assigned by the CLDQ developers:"Fatigue"(5/5),"Emotiona

Introduction: Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is a common, multisystemic, and progressive hereditary disease. It accounts for 6 to 8% of incident cases of end-stage chronic renal disease (ESRD) in developed countries. The aim of this study is to describe the predictive factors for the development of end-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the course of this disease. Material and Methods: This is a retrospective, descriptive, and analytical study including 300 cases of ADPKD collected at the Nephrology Department of Ibn-Sina Hospital in Rabat over a period of 30 years (1993 to 2023). Included in the study are all patients with ADPKD meeting the ultrasound diagnostic criteria. The analysis focused on demographic, clinical, paraclinical, evolutionary data, as well as prognostic factors associated with renal function deterioration. Results: The mean age of patients at diagnosis is 51.53 +/− 17 years [16 - 93] with a male predominance. The median serum creatinine at diagnosis is 15.5 mg/l [10 - 34]. 21% of patients had ESRD (eGFR 300 mg/24h (21%). The most common cystic complication is hemorrhage (12.3%). 21.3% of patients had hepatorenal polycystic disease. In adjusted analysis, the predictive risk factors for the occurrence of ESRD were smoking (p = 0.019), anemia (p Conclusion: ADPKD can progress insidiously to ESRD. Identification and early treatment of predictive factors for poor renal prognosis could contribute to a better outcome for this disease.

Introduction: Primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (HP1) is a rare lithiasis with systemic involvement, due to the accumulation of calcium oxalate crystals. In the absence of therapeutic management, it progresses to end-stage chronic renal failure. The aim of this study is to describe and analyse the observations of our patients with HP1. Patients and methods: This is a retrospective study carried out between 2014 and 2023 in the Nephrology-Dialysis Transplant Department of the Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat. The clinical, paraclinical and evolutionary elements were taken from the patients’ medical records. Results: We collected 11 cases, with a mean age of 27 ± 8.5 years and a M/F sex ratio of 1.7. The diagnosis of HP1 was made on the basis of genetic analysis in 8 patients, morphological and spectro-photometric analysis of the calculus in one patient, biopsy of the graft in one patient and crystalluria and a family history of PH1 in one patient. Two patients died, and 8 patients were on chronic haemdialysis with systemic damage. Only one patient maintained a stable GFR at 60 ml/min. Conclusion: Early diagnosis combined with conservative treatment is the only way to limit the rapid progression of this disease. This requires awareness and collaboration between nephrologists, urologists and biologists within a specialised team.

Dates are an important part of human *** are high in essential nutrients and provide a number of health *** fruits are also known to protect against a number of diseases,including cancer and heart *** fruits have several sizes,colors,tastes,and *** are a lot of challenges facing the date *** of the most significant challenges is the classification and sorting of *** there is no public dataset for date fruits,which is a major limitation in order to improve the performance of convolutional neural networks(CNN)models and avoid the overfitting *** this paper,an augmented date fruits dataset was developed using Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Networks(DCGAN)and CycleGAN approach to augment our collected date fruit *** augmentation is required to address the issue of a restricted number of images in our datasets,as well as to establish a balanced *** are three types of dates in our proposed dataset:Sukkari,Ajwa,and *** dataset augmentation,we train our created dataset using ResNet152v2 and CNN models to assess the classification process for our three categories in the *** train these two models,we start with the original ***,the models were trained using the DCGAN-generated dataset,followed by the CycleGAN-generated *** resulting results demonstrated that when using the ResNet152v2model,the CycleGAN-generated dataset had the highest classification performance with 96.8%accuracy,followed by the CNN model with 94.3%accuracy.

The ingestion of a foreign body that penetrates the gastric wall and migrates to the liver,where it causes an abscess is uncommon. A case of an ingested rosemary twig perforating the gastric antrum,then migrating to the liver,complicated by hepatic abscess and Staphylococcus aureus sepsis is reported. A 59-year-old man without a history of foreign body ingestion was admitted to our hospital because of sepsis and epigastralgia,which had progressively worsened. No foreign body was identified at preoperative imaging,but a rosemary twig was discovered during laparotomy. The liver abscess and sepsis were controlled successfully with surgery and antibiotics. This unusual condition should be kept in mind when dealing with cases of hepatic abscess,or even sepsis of unknown origin. Despite the improvement of non-surgical techniques such as percutaneous drainage and interventional endoscopy,surgery still remains important in the treatment of hepatic abscess caused by an ingested foreign body.

A new lanthanide formate oxalate framework [Eu（C2O4）（HCOO）]n （1） has been synthesized via hydrothermal method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction （SC-XRD）. The framework crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group, with a = 7.0984（4）, b = 6.6442（3）, c = 10.6793（6）？, v = 503.68（4）？3, Z = 3, C3HO6Eu, Mr = 285.00 g/mol, Dc = 3.7581 g/cm3, F（000） = 520.3796, μ = 12.413 mm-1, the final R = 0.0264 and wR = 0.0628 for 797 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. The photoluminescence （PL） measurements reveal the significant red emission of the framework is dominated by the （5D0 → 7F2） electronic transition at 614 nm. Further variable-temperature powder X-ray diffraction （vT-PXRD） indicates that framework 1 shows slight negative thermal expansion （NTE） along the a-axis, and positive thermal expansion （PTE） along the b and c axes.

AIM To investigate the effect of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells(ADMSCs)and their conditioned media(CM) on hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) cell *** The proliferation rate of HepG2 and PLC-PRF-5 HCC cancer cells was measured using the trypan blue exclusion method and confirmed using the cell-counting kit8(commonly known as CCK-8) assay. Apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry using annexin v-FITC. Protein and mRNA expression was quantified by ELISA and real time PCR, respectively. Migration and invasion rates were performed by Transwell migration and invasion assays. Wound healing was examined to confirm the data obtained from the migration *** Our data demonstrated that when co-culturing HCC cell lines with ADMSCs or treating them with ADMSC CM, the HCC cell proliferation rate was significantly inhibited and the apoptosis rate increased. The decreased proliferation rate was accompanied by an upregulation of P53 and Retinoblastoma mRNA and a downregulation of c-Myc and hTERT mRNA levels. More notably, ADMSCs and their CM suppressed the expression of the two important markers of HCC carcinogenicity, alpha-fetoprotein and Des-gamma-carboxyprothrombin. In addition, the migration and invasion levels of HepG2 and PLC-PRF-5 cells significantly decreased, potentially through increased expression of the tissue inhibitor metalloproteinases TIMP-1, TIMP-2 and *** These findings shed new light on a protective and therapeutic role for ADMSCs and their CM in controlling HCC invasiveness and carcinogenesis.

Studying Different Etching Methods Using CR-39 Nuclear Track Detector

In this research we try to investigate the optimum etching time for the tracks originate in (CR-39) solid state nuclear track detector after irradiated with alpha source (241Am) using three different etching techniques: the traditional method (water bath), microwaves and ultrasound devices. The track etching parameters: bulk etch rate (vB), track etch rate (vT), track etch rate ratio evaluates (v), critical angle (θC), and etching efficiency (η) were calculated in this research. It’s seen that the optimum etching time was ranging with (60 - 150 min), (20 - 30 min) and (60 - 120 min) when etching with water bath, microwave and ultrasound respectively. Also we observed that the critical angle was (24.29) when etching CR-39 detector with microwave. This value is lower than the critical angles values for the detector etched with water bath or ultrasound;thus it can be the optimum magnitude because its decrease leads to increasing the number of the tracks appeared in the detector and the etching efficiency.
