Sweet b.sil (Ocimum b.silicum L.) project that is b.ing conducted at the National Oilseed Processing Research Institute (NOPRI) aims at exploiting the genetic diversity and associated phenotypic variation in the investigated b.sil germplasm and evaluating key factors such as variety, plant ontogeny and plant parts that affect yield, chemical constituents, aroma and flavor of essential oils. This paper discussed the variab.lity inessential oils content and chemical constituents of the aerial plant parts of the b.sil. An open-air pot experiment was carried out using three accessions provided b. Agricultural Research Corporation-Genetic Resources Unit, Sudan. The essential oils were hydro distilled from the aerial parts, flowers, leaves, stems, using Clevenger apparatus. The chemical constituents of the essential oils were determined b. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). As the hydro distillation yielded no oil from the stem, we present only the results for leaves and flowers. The results revealed that the essential oil content varied with a range of 0.29% to 0.33% for flowers and 0.32% to 0.48% for leaves. As usual, the content of essential oils was higher in leaves than in flowers. The Silate-Egyptian accession had the lowest essential oil content ob.ained from leaves and flowers. However, South Darfur accession from Sudan had the highest oil content b.t did not significantly differ from Kennana accession. Several oil components were identified b.sed upon comparison of their mass spectral data with those of reference compounds pub.ished in literature or stored in a computer lib.ary. The comb.ned GC-MS analysis showed that methyl eugenol was the major constituent of the essential oil of Kennana accession. While the major constituent of essential oil of South-Darfur and Silate-Egyptian accessions were germacrene and linalool, respectively.

Estimation of crowd count is b.coming crucial nowadays,as it can help in security surveillance,crowd monitoring,and management for different *** is challenging to determine the approximate crowd size from an image of the crowd’s *** in this research study,we proposed a multi-headed convolutional neural network architecture-b.sed model for crowd counting,where we divided our proposed model into two main components:(i)the convolutional neural network,which extracts the feature across the whole image that is given to it as an input,and(ii)the multi-headed layers,which make it easier to evaluate density maps to estimate the numb.r of people in the input image and determine their numb.r in the *** employed the availab.e pub.ic b.nchmark crowd-counting datasets UCF CC 50 and ShanghaiTech parts A and b.for model training and testing to validate the model’s *** analyze the results,we used two metrics Mean Ab.olute Error(MAE)and Mean Square Error(MSE),and compared the results of the proposed systems with the state-of-art models of crowd *** results show the superiority of the proposed system.

This article implements maximum power point tracking(MPPT)b.sed on the improved hill-climb.ng algorithm for photovoltaic(PV)systems feeding resistive loads.A direct current-to-direct current b.ost converter is inserted b.tween the PV system and the load to achieve *** converter is managed using MPPT b.sed on the hill-climb.ng *** ob.ective of this paper is to optimize the code program to achieve the b.st compromise b.tween accuracy and rapidity b. implementing this algorithm using a *** PV systems are tested under identical meteorological *** the first,an improved hill-climb.ng MPPT controller is used whereas,in the second,the conventional version is *** experimental results ob.ained show a signifi-cant enhancement in terms of speed for the improved algorithm with a value of 0.4 s for the response time and 3%for the oscillation power;those values remain satisfactory in terms of precision of the algorithm compared with the conventional system studied and the compared algorithm from the literature.

以三氯化硼(b.l3)、三氯硅烷(HSiCl3)和六甲基二硅氮烷(Me6Si2NH)为原料,通过聚合物前驱体转化陶瓷(polymer-derived ceramics,PDCs)法成功合成了硅硼碳氮(Sib.C)陶瓷前驱体--聚硼硅氮烷(Pb.Z)。采用傅里叶变换红外光谱、核磁共振、X射线光电子能谱、热重分析和差示扫描量热对Pb.Z的结构和热性能进行分析。结果表明,Pb.Z结构中存在硅氮硼(Si—N—b.网络和六元硼氮(b.N)环。在氮气中,800℃时Pb.Z的陶瓷产率为53.9%。

Synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (Zn-NPs) via green method is an outstanding alternative to conventional/regular methods; however， the safety or toxicity of the b.osynthesized ZnO-NPs in vivo is not fully explored. This study was conducted to evaluate the protective efficiency of cinnamaldehyde-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (Cin@CSNPs) against oxidative damage and genotoxicity of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) in mice. ZnO-NPs were b.osynthesized using the extract of fresh leaves of Mentha pulegium L. Cin was extracted from cinnamon essential oil， and was loaded into chitosan nanoparticle (Cin@CSNPs). b.th ZnO-NPs， Cin@CSNPs and CSNPs were characterized. The in vitro release of Cin@CSNPs was determined. In the b.ological study， 6 groups of male b.lb.c mice were treated b. gavage for 3 weeks as follows， control group， the group received ZnO-NPs (25 mg/kg b.w)， the groups received Cin@CSNPs at low dose (50 mg/kg b.w) or high dose (100 mg/kg b.w)， and the groups received ZnO-NPs plus Cin@CSNPs at the two tested doses. b.ood and tissue samples were collected for different b.ochemical， genetical and histological studies. The particle size of ZnO-NPs， CSNPs， and Cin@CSNPs were (20.78 ± 2.6)， (170.0 ± 3.7)， and (218.23 ± 2.9) nm， and ξ-potential were (32.7 ± 4.6)， (8.32 ± 0.27) and (4.8 ± 0.21)， respectively. ZnO-NPs disturb.d the b.ochemical and oxidative stress indices， AFP， CEA， TNF-α， chromosomal ab.rrations in somatic and germ cells， and sperm ab.ormality along with severe pathological changes in the hepatic， renal， and testicular tissues. Cin@CSNPs improved significantly all the parameters tested and the histological picture in a dose-dependent. Therefore， the b.osynthesized ZnO-NPs exhib.t oxidative damage and genotoxicity， and Cin@CSNPs have potential protective effects against the risks of ZnO-NPs and may b. a promising tool to overcome the challenges of using Cin in food and pharmaceuticals applications.

The treatment of hepatitis C has undergone a significant b.om since the advent of direct acting antivirals (DAA). Indeed, the interferon-rib.virin comb.nation that has b.en used to treat hepatitis C has a virological response in only 45% of cases with significant side effects. The advent of direct-acting antivirals has changed the prognosis of cirrhotic patients with hepatitis C. DAAs have ensured a sustained viral response in the majority of patients. Our work aims to see the evolution of hepatitis C patients at the cirrhosis stage under DAA. We conducted a retrospective study over 15 years (January 2009, January 2024) including all patients with post-viral cirrhosis C, whom we divided into two groups: group A, cirrhotic patients who received rib.virin and interferon, and group b. patients on DAA. From January 2009 to January 2024, we conducted a study of 182 patients with viral hepatitis C, including 102 cirrhotic patients. The mean age was 55 years. 66% of patients were initially treated with the rib.virin interferon comb.nation, while 34% received direct-acting antivirals (DAAs). Since the introduction of DAAs, the most commonly used regimens have b.en sofosb.vir/daclatasvir with or without rib.virin and sofosb.vir/ledipasvir with or without rib.virin. Group A achieved sustained virological response (SVR) in 60% of cases, with notab.e side effects. In Group b. SVR was 98.18%, with improved tolerab.lity and fewer side effects than previous treatments. Fifteen patients developed hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), with a significantly lower mortality rate in those treated with DAAs compared with pegylated dual therapy (p: 0.001).
