Polymer electrolyte membrane(PEM)fuel cells are electrochemical devices that directly convert the chemical energy stored in fuel into electrical energy with a practical conversion efficiency as high as 65%.In the past years,significant progress has been made in PEM fuel cell *** 2019,there were over 19,000 fuel cell electric vehicles(FCEV)and 340 hydrogen refueling stations(HRF)in the U.S.(~8,000 and 44,respectively),Japan(~3,600 and 112,respectively),South Korea(~5,000 and 34,respectively),Europe(~2,500 and 140,respectively),and China(~110 and 12,respectively).Japan,South Korea,and China plan to build approximately 3,000 HRF stations by *** 2019,Hyundai Nexo and Toyota Mirai accounted for approximately 63%and 32%of the total sales,with a driving range of 380 and 312 miles and a mile per gallon(MPGe)of 65 and 67,*** of PEM fuel cells play a crucial role in the technological advancement to improve fuel cell performance/durability and reduce *** key aspects for fuel cell design,operational control,and material development,such as durability,electrocatalyst materials,water and thermal management,dynamic operation,and cold start,are briefly explained in this *** learning and artificial intelligence(AI)have received increasing attention in material/energy *** review also discusses their applications and potential in the development of fundamental knowledge and correlations,material selection and improvement,cell design and optimization,system control,power management,and monitoring of operation health for PEM fuel cells,along with main physics in PEM fuel cells for physics-informed machine *** objective of this review is three fold:(1)to present the most recent status of PEM fuel cell applications in the portable,stationary,and transportation sectors;(2)to describe the important fundamentals for the further advancement of fuel cell technology in terms of design and control optimization,cos

Available Agricultural Area by Utilization Categories and Ownership Structure of Holdings in the Republic of Serbia

The subject of research in this paper is the analysis and presentation of data on agricultural holdings, the structure of available and utilized area. The data and calculated indicators represent a comprehensive overview of the structural characteristics of national agriculture, but they are also an internationally comparable database, based on key features of agriculture. The main goal of this paper is to determine and explain more comprehensively and in detail by using appropriate methods, and based on available data, the condition of utilized agricultural area (hereinafter: UAA) and its quantitative and qualitative characteristics by utilization categories and manner of its use;types of agricultural holdings and statistical regions and lower statistical units of data grouping. Implementation of such a defined basic research goal indicates necessity of more detailed and continuous study of the causes that led to the reduction of available agricultural area and especially its better and more important production categories of utilization and measures and activities to be taken to eliminate or reduce the causes of inadequate management of agricultural area in the coming period. Suitability of VVC and HEVC for Video Telehealth Systems

Video compression in medical video streaming is one of the key technologies associated with mobile *** delivery of medical video streams over a resource constrained network emphasizes the need of a video codec that requires minimum bitrates and maintains high perceptual *** paper presents a comparative study between High Efciency Video Coding(HEVC)and its potential successor Versatile Video Coding(VVC)in the context of healthcare.A large-scale subjective experiment comprising of twenty-four non-expert participants is presented for eight different test conditions in Full High Denition(FHD)*** presented analysis highlights the impact of compression artefacts on the perceptual quality of HEVC and VVC processed *** results and ndings show that VVC clearly outperforms HEVC in terms of achieving higher compression,while maintaining high quality in FHD *** requires upto 40%less bitrate for encoding an FHD video at excellent perceptual *** have provided rate-quality curves for both encoders and a degree of overlap across both codecs in terms of perceptual ***,there is a 71%degree of overlap in terms of quality between VVC and HEVC compressed videos for eight different test conditions.

Biochemical markers for non-invasive assessment of disease stage in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis

AIM: To evaluate different biochemical markers and their ratios in the assessment of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) stages. METHODS: This study included 112 patients with PBC who underwent a complete clinical investigation. We analyzed the correlation (Spearman's test) between ten biochemical markers and their ratios with different stages of PBC. The discriminative values were compared using areas under receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. RESULTS: The mean age of patients included in the study was 53.88 ± 10.59 years, including 104 females and 8 males. We found a statistically significant correlation between PBC stage and Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) to platelet ratio (APRI), ALT/platelet count, AST/ALT, ALT/AST and ALT/Cholesterol ratios, with the values of Spearman's rho of 0.338, 0.476, 0.404, 0.356, 0.351 and 0.325, respectively. The best sensitivity and specificity was shown for AST/ALT, with an area under ROC of 0.660. CONCLUSION: Biochemical markers and their ratios do correlate with different sensitivity to and specificity of PBC disease stage. The use of biochemical markers and their ratios in clinical evaluation of PBC patients may reduce, but not eliminate, the need for liver biopsy.

With the advent in services such as telemedicine and telesurgery,provision of continuous quality monitoring for these services has become a challenge for the network *** standards for provision of such services are application specic as medical imagery is quite different than general purpose images and *** paper presents a novel full reference objective video quality metric that focuses on estimating the quality of wireless capsule endoscopy(WCE)videos containing bleeding *** regions in gastrointestinal tract have been focused in this research,as bleeding is one of the major reasons behind several diseases within the *** method jointly estimates the diagnostic as well as perceptual quality of WCE videos,and accurately predicts the quality,which is in high correlation with the subjective differential mean opinion scores(DMOS).The proposed combines motion quality estimates,bleeding regions’quality estimates based on support vector machine(SVM)and perceptual quality estimates using the pristine and impaired WCE *** method Quality Index for Bleeding Regions in Capsule Endoscopy(QI-BRiCE)videos is one of its kind and the results show high correlation in terms of Pearson’s linear correlation coefcient(PLCC)and Spearman’s rank order correlation coefcient(SROCC).An F-test is also provided in the results section to prove the statistical signicance of our proposed method.

Aging With Disney and the Gendering of Evil

Walt Disney animated films are considered synonymous with wholesome family entertainment despite the inherent negative messages of gender, age, and power hierarchies behind them. This paper proposes to explore the aspect of age as intersecting with gender through the villainesses in six of Disney＇s popular animated films： Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs （1937）, Cinderella （1950）, Sleeping Beauty （1959）, The Little Mermaid （1989）, Tangled （2010）, and Frozen （2013）. How Disney alters the actions of major and minor characters, and the construction of aging female characters and the key characteristics they exhibit during their fight for eternal youth, beauty, and social and political power will be analyzed, attempting to show how Disney is not a harmless substitute for a babysitter for children.

Venous thromboembolism prophylaxis-prescribing patterns among elderly medical patients in a Saudi tertiary care center:success or failure?

Background Hospitalized elderly patients are at high risk of venous thromboembolism(VTE),and the appropriate use of thromboprophylaxis can significantly reduce the incidence of VTE in high-risk *** investigated the pattern of VTE prophylaxis administration among elderly medical patients and assessed its appropriateness based on the American College of Chest Physicians(ACCP)*** A cross-sectional single-center study was conducted between October 2019 and March 2020,including hospitalized(>48 h),elderly(≥60 years),medical patients,and excluding patients receiving anticoagulant for other reason,having contraindication to thromboprophylaxis,or had VTE diagnosed within 48 *** Padua prediction score was used to determine the patients’risk for VTE,and thromboprophylaxis use was assessed against the ACCP *** The study included 396 patients with an average age of 75.0±9.01 years,and most patients(71.7%)were classified as high risk for VTE development(Padua score≥4 points).Thromboprophylaxis use was inappropriate in 27.3%of patients,of whom 85.2%were ineligible but still received *** who were classified as low risk of VTE were more likely to receive inappropriate thromboprophylaxis(AOR=76.5,95%CI:16.1-363.2),whereas patients with acute infection or rheumatologic disorder were less likely to receive inappropriate thromboprophylaxis(AOR=0.46,95%CI:0.22-0.96).Conclusions Although the use of thromboprophylaxis among high-risk elderly patients was reasonably adequate,a large proportion of low-risk patients were exposed to unnecessary risk through inappropriate overutilization of ***,healthcare providers should accurately assess patients’risk before prescribing thromboprophylaxis to ensure patient safety.

Two spectrophotometric methods for simultaneous determination of some antihyperlipidemic drugs

Two simple, accurate, precise and economic spectrophotometric methods have been developed for simultaneous determination of Atorvastatin calcium (ATR) and Ezetimibe (EZ) in their bulk powder and pharmaceutical dosage form. Method (I) is based on dual wavelength analysis while method (II) is the mean centering of ratio spectra spectrophotometric (MCR) method. In method (I), two wavelengths were selected for each drug in such a way that the difference in absorbance was zero for the second drug. At wavelengths 226.6 and 244 nm EZ had equal absorbance values; therefore, these two wavelengths have been used to determine ATR; on a similar basis 228.6 and 262.8 nm were selected to determine EZ in their binary mixtures. In method II, the absorption spectra of both ATR and EZ with different concentrations were recorded over the range 200-350, divided by the spectrum of suitable divisor of both ATR and EZ and then the obtained ratio spectra were mean centered. The concentrations of active components were then determined from the calibration graphs obtained by measuring the amplitudes at 215-260 nm (peak to peak) for both ATR and EZ. Accuracy and precision of the developed methods have been tested; in addition recovery studies have been carried out in order to confirm their accuracy. On the other hand, selectivities of the methods were tested by application for determination of different synthetic mixtures containing different ratios of the studied drugs. The developed methods have been successfully used for determination of ATR and EZ in their combined dosage form and statistical comparison of the developed methods with the reported spectrophotometric one using F and Student’s t-tests showed no significant difference regarding both accuracy and precision.

Strawberries are rich in polyphenols which impart health benefits when metabolized by the gut microbiome,including anti-inflammatory,neuroprotective,and antiproliferative *** addition,polyphenolic anthocyanins contribute to the attractive color of strawberry ***,the genetic basis of polyphenol biosynthesis has not been extensively studied in *** this investigation,ripe fruits from three cultivated strawberry populations were characterized for polyphenol content using HPLC-DAD-MSn and genotyped using the iStraw35k *** and QTL analyses identified genetic loci controlling polyphenol *** were identified on four chromosomes for pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside,pelargonidin-3-O-acetylglucoside,cinnamoyl glucose,and ellagic acid deoxyhexoside ***/absence of ellagic acid deoxyhexoside and pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside was found to be under the control of major gene loci on LG1X2 and LG6b,respectively,on the F.×ananassa linkage *** of gene predictions in the *** reference genome sequence identified a single candidate gene for ellagic acid deoxyhexoside biosynthesis,while seven malonyltransferase genes were identified as candidates for pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside *** malonyltransferase genes were identified in the F.×ananassa‘Camarosa’genome sequence but the candidate for ellagic acid deoxyhexoside biosynthesis was absent from the‘Camarosa’*** study demonstrated that polyphenol biosynthesis in strawberry is,in some cases,under simple genetic control,supporting previous observations of the presence or absence of these compounds in strawberry *** has also shed light on the mechanisms controlling polyphenol biosynthesis and enhanced the knowledge of these biosynthesis pathways in *** above findings will facilitate breeding for strawberries enriched in compounds with beneficial health effects.
