Emerging adulthood(EA)is a critical stage of life to develop and sustain a healthy lifestyle,which is also a time of vulnerability to poor physical and mental health *** this study,we conducted a path analysis(n=1326)to examine associations among four dimensions of EA,levels of regular physical activity(PA),self-control,MPA tendency and irrational *** found:1)higher levels of PA predicted both MPA tendency(β=−0.08,95%CI:−0.11 to−0.06,pnd irrational procrastination(β=−0.01,95%CI:−0.17 to−0.008,pndirectly via self-control;2)Instability(β=0.13,95%CI:0.08 to 0.18,pnd Responsibility(β=−0.06,95%CI:−0.10 to−0.08,p=0.03)exerted direct effects on irrational procrastination and Instability also indirectly predicted irrational procrastination via MPA tendency(β=0.03,95%CI:0.02 to 0.05,pndings proved that perceived features of EA are linked to behavioral problems and supported that regular PA plays a crucial role to protect mental health.

The aim of this study was to assess the risk of child abuse in children younger than 18 months admitted to a pediatric trauma service with lower extremity injuries. An Institutional Review Board-approved retrospective case series of children admitted to a regional pediatric trauma center with lower extremity injuries from 1998 to 2002 (n = 5497) was performed. Factors analyzed included age, injuries, and injury mechanism. Among 5497 trauma patients, the incidence of abuse was 104 (2%) of 4942 children 18 months or older and 175(32%) of 555 children younger than 18 months (odds ratio [OR], 21.4±2.9, P nts with lower extremity injuries in the entire sample, and 66 of these were younger than 18 months. In the extremity trauma group, for patients 18 months or older, 16 (1%) of 1186 were abused compared with 44 (67%) of 66 patients younger than 18 months (OR, 146 ±53, P ng all trauma patients younger than 18 months, 41 of 55 lower extremity fractures were linked to abuse, whereas 134 of 500 other injuries were caused by abuse (OR, 8.0 ±2.6, P ng the 41 abuse-related fractures, femur fracture was the most common (22), followed by tibia fracture (14). Among children 18 months or older, abuse is an uncommon cause of lower extremity trauma. In children younger than 18 months, lower extremity injuries, particularly fractures, are highly associated with child abuse. Clinicians must thoroughly investigate lower extremity injuries in this age group.

The cross section values of the^(71)Ga(n,γ)^(72)Ga reaction are measured,which are 9.14±0.81 mb and 5.74±0.50 mb at 2.15 and 3.19 MeV,*** detailed uncertainty propagation and covariance analysis are also ***^(7)Li(p,n)^(7)Be reaction was used to generate the neutrons,and the neutron flux was normalized using the^(115)In(n,n′)^(115)In^(m)monitor *** measured cross section data are compared with the data available in the EXFOR database,the data obtained using nuclear reaction model codes EMPIRE-3.2 and TALYS-1.95,and also the evaluated nuclear data from EnDF/B-VIII.0 and JEFF-3.1/*** comparison shows that our result at 3.19 MeV is in good agreement with those of EMPIRE-3.2 and JEFF-3.1/*** there are no other measurements available at3.19 MeV,our data could not be compared with literature data at 3.19 MeV,but they are consistent with the cross section values available at 2.98±0.26 and 3.0±0.1 *** result at 2.15 MeV is slightly higher than the literature value available in EXFOR,evaluated value,and theoretically predicted result.

Conversion of Australian Food Composition Data from AUSnUT1999 to 2007 in the Clinical Trial Context

An Australian food composition database, AUSnUT1999, does not include long chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid （LC omega-3 PUFA） data. Measurement of the fatty acid content of diets initially analysed using AUSnUT1999 requires conversion to AUSnUT2007, an updated database inclusive of LC omega-3 PUFA. The aim of this study was to convert clinical trial dietary data from AUSnUT1999 to AUSnUT2007 and measure LC omega-3 PUFA intake. Clinical trial diet history （DH） data was converted from AUSnUTI999 to 2007 using a staged approach. Macronutrient intake from AUSnUTI999 and 2007 were calculated and compared via paired t-tests and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks tests. Mean dietary LC omega-3 PUFA intake and the percentage contribution of food groups to total LC omega-3 PUFA were then calculated. DHs were collected at baseline （n = 118）, three months （n = 86）, and 12 months （n = 64）. The accuracy of the conversion process improved with time, with no significant difference between most macronutrients at 12 months. Mean LC n-3 PUFA intake was 441.87 mg at baseline, 521.07 mg at 3 months, and 442.40 mg at 12 months, and was predominantly provided by fish and seafood, followed by meat products. This study allowed for the measurement of LC omega-3 intake, which was previously impossible using the AUSnUT 1999 database.

Epidemiological studies have been investigating the relationship between chlorination byproducts exposure and cancer. Studies showed the incidence of colon, rectum and bladder cancer in laboratory animals when halogenated byproducts were administered to them, such as trihalomethanes. Based on this fact, in this work, two data sets of water quality parameters were analyzed with focus on total trihalomethanes (THMt). These two data sets are from two different time periods (one in 2014 and other in 2017). All the samples were collected in the same months, in both data sets. The samples were taken from its same corresponding sampling points in both periods of time. Trihalomethanes (THMs) are undesired byproducts of chlorination and its formation occurs when the chlorine used in water treatment reacts with natural organic matter, which is present in natural waters, during the disinfection process. The aim of this research was to investigate the THMs levels in storage water from the chlorination performed by the Water Treatment Station (WTS) of the Maringá-Parana-Brazil;also, to compare the results obtained with the maximum allowable values (MAVs) established by the Consolidation Resolution n.05/2017, current law of water quality in Brazil. Water samples were collected in eight high and fundamental schools of Maringá-Paraná-Brazil and analyzed through the gas chromatography method by the use of mass spectrometry detector with purge-and-trap concentrator (GC-MS) for THM. Furthermore, parameters such as pH and residual chlorine were analyzed following the methodology proposed by the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater. The study results to THMt show that the maximum value of 21.5 μg/L obtained is within the MAV of 100 μg/L. Chloroform was the compound with higher concentrations in all samples in THMt analysis.
