Re-folded structure of syn-orogenic granitoids(Padrón dome, nW Iberia):Assessing rheological evolution of cooling continental crust in a collisional setting

This contribution discusses about the rheological, kinematic and dynamic frameworks necessary to produce recumbent and upright folds from syn-orogenic granitic massifs that were formed during an early stage of magma genesis related to the onset of a migmatitic dome. Syn-kinematic granitoids occurring within the high-grade infrastructure of the Padron migmatitic dome(nW Iberia) are deformed into largescale recumbent folds(D_2) that are later affected by upright folds(D_3). Petrostructural analysis of a selected area of this dome reveals that after a period of crustal thickening(D_1), nnW-directed extensional flow gave way to recumbent folds and penetrative axial plane foliation(S_2). Superimposed subhorizontal compression resulted in upright folds(D_3). A closer view into the dynamics of the dome allows exploring the factors that may condition the nucleation of folds with contrasting geometries during progressive deformation of molten continental crust. The formation of folds affecting syn-kinematic granitoids suggests a cooling metamorphic path in migmatitic domes. Active and passive folding mechanisms require a crystallizing(cooling) magma to nucleate folds. A more competent metamorphic host inhibits fold nucleation from much less competent magmas. As it crystallizes, magma becomes more rigid(competent),and approaches viscosity values of its host. Passive folding is favored when no significant competence contrast exists between magma and host, so this folding mechanism is more likely shortly after magma genesis and emplacement. In such conditions, and under dominant subhorizontal flow accompanied by flattening(D_2),passive folding would produce isoclinal recumbent geometries. Further magma cooling introduces a shift into the rheological behavior of partially molten crust. Synthesis and Characteristics of Hole-transporting Materials Based on Biphenyl Diamine Derivatives with Carbazole Groups

Two hole-transporting materials containing carbazole moieties with TPD- and nPB-like structures, 4,4′-bis [ n- （4-carbazolylphenyl） -n-phenylamino ] biphenyl （ CPB ） and 4,4′-bis [ n- （ 4-carbazolylphenyl ） -n- （ 1-naphthyl ） amino] biphenyl（ CnB）, were synthesized via a modified Ullmann reaction. The resulting compounds were thermally stable with high glass transition temperatures ranging from 145 to 147 ℃ and possessed a good electrochemical reversibility and hole-transporting properties. Typical double-layer device evaluation with the structure ITO/CPB（40 nm）/ Alq3 （60 nm）/LiF/Al demonstrated that they were promising hole-transporting materials with a current efficiency of 5.25 cd/A and a power efficiency of 2.00 lm/W.

Oligodendroglia and neurotrophic factors in neurodegeneration

Myelination by oligodendroglial cells （OLs） enables the propagation of action potentials along neuronal axons, which is essential for rapid information flow in the central nervous system. Besides saltatory conduction, the myelin sheath also protects axons against inflammatory and oxidative insults. Loss of myelin results in axonal damage and ultimately neuronal loss in demyelinating disorders. However, accumulating evidence indicates that OLs also provide support to neurons via mechanisms beyond the insulating function of myelin. More im- portantly, an increasing volume of reports indicates defects of OLs in numerous neurodegenerative diseases, sometimes even preceding neuronal loss in pre-symptomatic episodes, suggesting that OL pathology may be an important mechanism contributing to the initiation and/or progression of neurodegeneration. This review fo- cuses on the emerging picture of neuronal support by OLs in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders through diverse molecular and cellular mechanisms, including direct neuron-myelin interaction, metabolic sup- port by OLs, and neurotrophic factors produced by and/or acting on OLs.

Effect of Trifolium pratense extract on methionine-choline- deficient diet-induced steatohepatitis in C57BL/6 mice

AIM： The potential of Trifolium pratense （red clover） extract in the prevention of lipid disorder has attracted increasing attention in recent years. In this study, the aim was to determine whether and how red clover extract affected the development of murine diet-induced non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. METHOD： non-alcoholic steatohepatitis was induced in C57BL/6 mice by feeding mice with a methionine-choline-deficient （MCD） diet. Hematoxylin and eosin staining was used for histological analyses. Real-time PCR was used to analyze the mRnA expression levels. RESULTS： Hepatic steatosis and neeroinflammation was observed in MCD diet-fed mice, and this diet-induced steatosis was sig- nificantly attenuated, whereas liver inflammation was not significantly attenuated, by red clover extract treatment. Consistent with the results of H＆E staining, the MCD diet-induced increase of liver triglycerides and cholesterol levels were significantly reduced by red clover extract treatment. However, with the improvement in hepatic steatosis, mRnA levels of acetyl CoA oxidase, carnitine palrnitoyl transferase-l, and liver fatty acid-binding protein, three genes regulated by peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor （PPAR） ct, were unaffected. COnCLUSIOn： Red clover extract alleviated MCD diet-induced hepatic steatosis, but did not ameliorate liver inflammation in C57BL/6 mice, and the improvement in hepatic steatosis was not through activating PPAR^t.

Oxidization of the mantle caused by sediment recycling may contribute to the formation of iron-rich mantle melts

Mantle-derived primary magmas generally have FeOtot contents of about 11 wt%.However,some primary melts show extremely high FeO^tot(>13 wt%)with high MgO(>12 wt%)(ferropicrite)[1].Considering the influence of chemical and mineral compositions of the mantle source on melt compositions,it has been argued that ferropicrites may be near-primary partial melts of pyroxenite formed in the convecting mantle[2–4],whereas others favor an origin by partial melting of an iron-rich peridotitic mantle source[5,6].Melting experiments have shown that melting conditions such as pressure and temperature can strongly influence the melt compositions,such that ferropicrites may be generated by partial melting of an olivine-dominated mantle source at^5 GPa[5].Some ferropicrites seem to be more oxidized than other magmas,as suggested from the Panzhihua intrusions in the Emeishan large igneous province[7],which may imply melting of a more oxidized mantle ***,Johnston and Stout[8]showed that oxygen fugacity exerts great control on the compositions and stabilities of Cr-Fe-rich minerals,and may therefore significantly affect mantle-derived melt *** oxygen fugacity(fo2)and solidus temperature of the mantle can be dramatically affected by recycled sedimentary *** raises the question as to whether sedimentary carbonate recycling could have indirectly contributed to the formation of iron-rich melts in the mantle.

Rare-earth ternary catalysts Y（CCl3COO）3-ZnR2-glycerin were prepared for the copolymerization of carbon dioxide and propylene oxide （PO）, where dialkylzincs （ZnR2） were diethylzinc, di（n-propyl）zinc, di（n-butyl）zinc, di（i-propyl）zinc, di（i-butyl）zinc, di（s-butyl）zinc,respectively. The Y（CCl3COO）3-ZnR2-glycerin catalysts displayed the highest catalytic activity at the molar ratio of Y（CCl3COO）3：ZnR2：glycerin = 1：20：10. In the same copolymerization condition, catalysts containing dialkylzincs with branched alkyl group showed lower catalytic activity than that with primary alkyl group. for those catalysts including dialkylzincs with primary alkyl group, their catalytic activity decreases with increasing number of carbon atom in the alkyl group with the following sequence： Y（CCl3COO）3-ZnEt2-glycerin 〉 Y（CCl3COO）3-Zn（n- Pr）2-glycerin〉Y（CCl3COO）3-Zn（n-Bu）2-glycerin. However, the alkyl group in the dialkylzinc does not influence the insertion of PO into the propagation chain end.

Effect of n-acetylcysteine treatment on the patients of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and its influence of the levels of CRP, PCT and Pulmonary function index

Objective: Discuss the The effect of n-acetylcysteine treatment on the patients of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and its influence of the levels of C-reactiveprotein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT) and Pulmonary function index. Methods: A total of 82 cases of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients were randomly selected in our hospital during April 2017 to April 2018 were randomly divided into two groups according to the different treatment methods, 35 cases of patients in control group were given conventional treatment, 35 cases of patients in the experimental group were treatment with conventional treatment combined with n-acetylcysteine,the serum levels of CRP, PCT and pulmonary function were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, in the experimental group, the level of CRP was (8.12±1.12) mg/L, the level of PCT was (1.78±0.22) μg/L, which were lower than those of the control group (13.22±1.78) mg/L and PCT (3.85±0.27) μg/L, respectively, with statistically significant. After treatment, in the experimental group,the forced vital capacity, forced expiratory valume insecond and forced vital capacity/forced expiratory valume insecond were superior to the control group, with statistically significant. After treatment, the scores of St. George's respiratory questionnaire in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant. Conclusion: n-acetylcysteine treatment on the patients of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can effectively reduce the expression levels of CRP and PCT, as well as improve pulmonary function, and improve their quality of life.

Effect of Sea buckthorn on liver fibrosis:A clinical study

AIM: To appraise the effect of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) on cirrhotic ***: Fifty cirrhotic patients of Child-Pugh grade A and B were randomly divided into two groups: Group A as the treated group (n=30), taking orally the sea buckthom extract, 15 g 3 times a day for 6 months. Group B as the control group (n=18), taking vitamin B complex one tablet,3 times a day for 6 months. The following tests were performed before and after the treatment in both groups to determine Ln, HA, collagens types Ⅲ and IV, cytokines IL6 and TnFα, liver serum albumin, total bile acid, ALT, AST and prothrombin ***: The serum levels of TnFα, IL-6, laminin and type IV collagen in group A were significantly higher than those in the control group. After a course of sea buckthorn treatment, the serum levels of Ln, HA, collagen types Ⅲand IV, total bile acid (TBA) decreased significantly as compared with those before and after treatment in the control group. The sea buckthorn notably shortened the duration for normalization of ***: Sea buckthom may be a hopeful drug for prevention and treatment of liver fibrosis.

Petrology and Sr-nd isotope systematics of the Ahobil kimberlite(Pipe-16)from the Wajrakarur field, Eastern Dharwar craton, southern India

Detailed mineralogical, bulk-rock geochemical and Sr-nd isotopic data for the recently discovered Ahobil kimberlite(Pipe-16) from the Wajrakarur kimberlite field(WKF), Eastern Dharwar craton(EDC),southern India, are presented. Two generations of compositionally distinct olivine, Ti-poor phlogopite showing orangeitic evolutionary trends, spinel displaying magmatic trend-1, abundant perovskite, Tirich hydrogarnet, calcite and serpentine are the various mineral constituents. On the basis of(i) liquidus mineral composition,(ii) bulk-rock chemistry, and(iii) Sr-nd isotopic composition, we show that Ahobil kimberlite shares several characteristic features of archetypal kimberlites than orangeites and lamproites. Geochemical modelling indicate Ahobil kimberlite magma derivation from small-degree melting of a carbonated peridotite source having higher Gd/Yb and lower La/Sm in contrast to those of orangeites from the Eastern Dharwar and Bastar cratons of Indian shield. The T_(Dm) nd model age(～2.0 Ga) of the Ahobil kimberlite is(i) significantly older than those(1.5～1.3 Ga) reported for Wajrakarur and narayanpet kimberlites of EDC,(ii) indistinguishable from those of the Mesoproterozoic EDC lamproites,and(iii) strikingly coincides with the timing of the amalgamation of the Columbia supercontinent. High bulk-rock Fe-Ti contents and wide variation in oxygen fugacity fo_2, as inferred from perovskite oxybarometry, suggest non-prospective nature of the Ahobil kimberlite for diamond.
