Effect of valence and spin state on ethane dehydrogenation in Fe-S-1 catalyst

Light alkanes non-oxidative dehydrogenation is an attractive non-oil route for olefins *** alkane dehydrogenation reaction is limited by thermodynamic equilibrium,and the C-H bond cleavage is commonly considered as the rate-determined *** valence state of metal sites in catalysts will influence the stabilization of the vital intermediate(i.e.,CxHy...Mδ+...H) during the C-H bond cleavage process,which in turn affects the catalytic ***,we explicitly investigated the effect of different valence states of framework-Fe in silicate-1 zeolite on ethane dehydrogenation reaction through the combination of experimental and theoretical ***（Ⅱ）-S-1 and Fe（Ⅲ）-S-1 catalysts are successfully synthesized by ligand-assisted in situ crystallization method,In-situ C2H6-FTIR shows the higher coverage of hydrocarbon intermediates on Fe（Ⅱ）-S-1,Under the same evaluation co nditio n,Fe（Ⅱ）-S-1 exhibits a higher space time yield of *** functional theory（DFT） results reveal that the more coordinate-unsaturated and electron-enriched Fe（Ⅱ） sites boost the first C-H bond activation by slight deformation and efficient electron donation with C2H5****,the second C-H bond cleavage on Fe（Ⅱ）-S-1 undergoes a spin-crossing process from quintet state to triplet state,which involves a two-electro n-two-orbital interaction,further promoting the formation of *** analysis is consistent with the experimental and DFT *** work could provide methodology for elucidating the effect of metal valence states on catalytic performance as well as offer guidance for designing more efficient Fe-zeolite catalysts.

Utilizing bioinformatics for integrated analysis of multiple genes in the diagnosis and pathogenesis of metastatic pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma

Impacts of wetting-drying cycles on short-term carbon and nitrogen dynamics in Amynthas earthworm casts

Effects of earthworm casts on soil nutrient dynamics and their responses to changing moisture availability in subtropical ecosystems remain poorly *** study aimed to examine short-term carbon(C)and nitrogen(n)dynamics and their interactions with wetting-drying cycles in three different structural forms(i.e.,granular,globular,and heap-like)of Amynthas earthworm *** rates of C and n mineralization in the earthworm casts were examined under two different wetting-drying cycles(i.e.,2-d and 4-d wetting intervals)using a rainfall simulation *** three simulated rainfall events,subsamples of the earthworm casts were further incubated for 4 d for the determination of CO2 and n2O *** results of this study indicated that the impacts of wetting-drying cycles on the short-term C and n dynamics were highly variable among the three cast forms,but wetting-drying cycles significantly reduced the cumulative CO2 and n2O fluxes by 62%-83%and 57%-85%,respectively,when compared to the control without being subjected to any rainfall *** C mineralization rates in different cast forms were affected by the amount of organic substrates and n content in casts,which were associated with the food preference and selection of ***,the cumulative n2O fluxes did not differ among the three cast *** wetting and drying of casts not only enhanced aggregate stability by promoting bonds between the cast particles,but also inhibited microbial survival and growth during the prolonged drying period,which together hindered decomposition and *** findings demonstrated that the interactions between the structural forms,aggregate dynamics,and C and n cycling in the earthworm casts were highly complex.

Exploring the mechanism of Ta_(3)n_(5)/KTaO_(3) photocatalyst for overall water splitting by first-principles calculations

The rational fabrication of heterostructures is one of efficient strategies for improving photocatalytic performance of semiconductor *** recently,Domen and co-workers found that Ta_(3)n_(5) single crystals grown on the surface of KTaO_(3) can accomplish photocatalytic overall water splitting for the first *** order to comprehend the underlying mechanism of this photocatalytic system,we have performed a systematic study based on density functional theory first-principles ***_(3)n_(5)(010)/KTaO_(3)(110)slab models have been built according to experimental observations by considering two common terminations of KTaO_(3)(110)surface,named as Ta_(3)n_(5)/O_(2) and Ta_(3)n_(5)/*** formations of interfacial bonds are thermodynamically stable,showing a covalent interaction between two components of a ***_(3)n_(5)/O_(2) has a higher mobility of photogenerated charge carriers and lower recombination rate of charge carriers than Ta_(3)n_(5)/*** light absorption of heterostructures displays the feature of KTaO_(3) in the short wavelength region and the characteristic of Ta_(3)n_(5) in the long wavelength *** calculated band offsets show that Ta_(3)n_(5)/O_(2) and Ta_(3)n_(5)/KTaO have distinct Type-II band alignments,with Ta_(3)n_(5) as the accumulator of photoinduced electrons in the former and the collector of photogenerated holes in the latter,*** difference in charge density and electrostatic potential between two components acts as a driving force to promote the transfer of electrons and holes to different domains of the interface,which is beneficial to extend the lifetime of photoinduced *** results demonstrate that the function of Ta_(3)n_(5) in Ta_(3)n_(5)/KTaO_(3) photocatalytic system is determined by the termination property of KTaO_(3)(110)surface,which provides a likely reason of the observed photocatalytic activity of overall water splitting achieved by Ta_(3)n_(5) synthesized by

Programmable Quantum Processor with Quantum Dot Qubits

The realization of controllable couplings between any two qubits and among any multiple qubits is the critical problem in building a programmable quantum processor(PQP). We present a design to implement these types of couplings in a double-dot molecule system, where all the qubits are connected directly with capacitors and the couplings between them are controlled via the voltage on the double-dot molecules. A general interaction Hamiltonian of n qubits is presented, from which we can derive the Hamiltonians for performing operations needed in building a PQP, such as gate operations between arbitrary two qubits and parallel coupling operations for multigroup qubits. The scheme is realizable with current technology.

Airborne laser scanning(ALS)has been widely applied to estimate tree and forest attributes,but it can also drive the segmentation of forest *** algorithms are the dominant technique in segmentation but spatial optimization using exact methods remains *** study presents a novel approach to segmentation based on mixed integer programming to create forest management units(FMUs).This investigation focuses on using raster information derived from ALS *** mainstream clustering algorithms were compared to the new MIP formula that simultaneously accounts for area and adjacency restrictions,FMUs size and homogeneity in terms of vegetation *** optimal problem solution was found when using less than 150 cells,showing the problem formulation is *** results for MIP were better than for the clustering algorithms;FMUs were more compact based on the intravariation of canopy height and the variability in size was *** MIP model allows the user to strictly control the size of FMUs,which is not possible in heuristic optimization and in the clustering algorithms *** definition of forest management units based on remote sensing data is an important operation and our study pioneers the use of MIP ALS-based optimal segmentation.

As known, the method to obtain a sequence space by using convergence field of an infinite matrix is an old method in the theory of sequence spaces. However, the study of convergence field of an infinite matrix in the space of almost convergent sequences is so new （see [15]）. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the new spaces ^ ～f and fo consisting of all sequences whose Ceshro transforms of order one are in the spaces f and ^ ～ f0, respectively. Also, in this paper, we show that ^ ～f and ^ ～f0 are linearly isomorphic to the spaces f and f0, respectively. The β- and γ-duals of the spaces ^ ～f and 2% are computed. Furthermore, the classes （^ ～f： μ） and （μ ： f） of infinite matrices are characterized for any given sequence space μ, and determined the necessary and sufficient conditions on a matrix A to satisfy Bc-core（Ax） K-core（x）, K-core（Ax） Bg-core（x）, Bc-core（Ax） Be-core（x）, Bc-core（Ax） t-core（x） for all x ∈ t∞.

fo screen or not to screen： the prostate cancer dilemma

The European Randomized Study of Screening for Prostate （ERSPC） has updated their previous seminal report on prostate cancer mortality comparing screened men to controls. now with 13 years follow-up, the rate ratio of prostate cancer mortality was 0.79 favoring the screened population. The authors concluded that there was a ＂substantial reduction in prostate cancer mortality attributable to testing with prostate-specific antigen （PSA）＂ but they also stated that a＂quantification of harms＂ needed to be addressed. The issue of harms was not addressed by the ERSPC （at least not in this report） and hence this additional statement most likely reflects the controversy currently surrounding the risks associated with over-diagnosis and treatment of indolent diseases inadvertently detected by a screening protocol, In addition, the positive results from this trial conflict with those of the prostate, lung, colorectal and ovarian （PLCO）2 study and reouire further elaboration.
