Sustainability assessment of solar drying systems:a comparative life-cycle analysis of phase-change material-based *** solar dryers

Solar drying systems are becoming a popular alternative to traditional energy-based drying systems for agricultural products due to their effectiveness and reduced fuel *** the efficiency of solar drying systems has been thoroughly investigated,their sustainability has not been studied *** study aims to fill that gap by conducting a life-cycle assessment of two new solar drying systems built in Udaipur,Rajasthan,*** environmental implications of an innovative cylindrical solar-assisted drying system and a phase-change material-based solar drying system were evaluated using cradle-to-gate life-cycle *** study uses the ReCiPe 2016 endpoints(H)technique to calculate various aspects such as midpoint,endpoint,single score,normalization result,and network diagram for phase-change material-based solar drying and cylindrical solar-assisted *** show that phase-change material-based solar drying has an average of 40%more impact on the environment than cylindrical solar-assisted drying,with a high impact found in human non-carcinogenic toxicity,mainly due to the production of phase-change ma***,cylindrical solar-assisted drying system crossover phase-change material based solar drying in terms of its impact on human carcinogenic toxicity and fossil resource *** contribution to global warming of phase-change material-based solar drying is 13.7%more than that of cylindrical solar-assisted *** endpoint characterization indicates that phase-change material-based solar drying exceeds in terms of human health(40%)and ecosystem(37.04%),whereas cylindrical solar-assisted drying surpasses phase-change material-based solar drying in terms of impacts on resources,at 14%.The early drying in phase-change material-based solar drying makes up for its higher impact than that in cylindrical solar-assisted drying,which takes 3 hours longer to *** study offers guidance and methods for making the best choice of

Sequential decay analysis of^(235)U(n^(th),f)reaction using fragmentation approach

Effect of organic component(tartrate) addition on cerium nitrate's ability to inhibit corrosion of mild steel in naCl solution

Cerium tartrate（CeTar）,produced in this study by precipitating cerium nitrate with potassium sodium tartrate（KnaTar）,was examined as a corrosion *** loss tests show inhibition efficiency of 71.7% with Ce（nO3）3and 88.7% with CeTar inhibitor for one-month exposure to mild steel in 7 g/L naCl *** inhibition efficiency drops to 28.6% with the fo rmer and remains around 8 7% with the latter inhibitor after six months of *** results from electrochemical testing indicate that the inhibition efficiency decreases by adding cerium ***,the cerium tartrate inhibitor demonstrates a nearly constant inhibition efficiency for up to 30 d,i.e.,≈90%.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy（EIS） performed in these cases shows the following results:（ⅰ） with cerium nitrate,a film of iron and cerium oxide,which on prolonged exposure diminishes,and（ⅱ） with cerium tartrate,the formation of a bimetallic film（Fe-tartrate-Ce） and a mixture of cerium hydroxide and iro n oxide that protects steel for a longer *** inferences are based on the analyses of scanning electron microscopy/energydispersive X-ray analysis（SEM/EDAX）,X-ray diffraction（XRD）,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIR）,X-ray photoelectron（XPS）,and Raman spectroscopy results.

numerical Analysis of Phase Change and Container Materials for Thermal Energy Storage in the Storage Tank of Solar Water Heating System

This study evaluates the effectiveness of phase change materials(PCMs) inside a storage tank of warm water for solar water heating(SWH) system through the theoretical simulation based on the experimental model of *** et *** model is explained by five fundamental equations for the calculation of various parameters like the effectiveness of PCMs,the mass of hot water,total heat content,and duration of *** study simulated eleven PCMs to analyze their effectiveness like Sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate(SHPD),OM 37,n-Eicosane(nE),Lauric acid(LA),Paraffin wax(PW),OM 48,Paraffin wax C_(20-33)(PW-C20-33),Sodium acetate trihydrate(SAT),Palmitic acid(PA),Myristic acid(MA),and Stearic acid(SA).Among all PCMs,the SHPD has found the highest value of effectiveness factor of ***,it is the most recommended PCM for the storage tank of the SWH *** study also includes the melt fraction analysis of all enumerated PCMs corresponding to container materials of stainless steel,glass,aluminum mixed,tin,aluminum,and *** melt fraction analysis is performed by making a coding program in the FORTRAn programming *** the analysis,copper container material is found to have high melting rate for all PCMs so it is superior to other container materials.

Effect of process parameter on the flowability of nanocrystalline ConiCrAlY powder synthesized by mechanical milling

The present study concerns understanding the effect of process parameters on the characteristics and flowability of nanocrystalline ConiCrAlY powder synthesized by mechanical *** milling has been conducted in a planetary ball mill with tungsten carbide(WC)ball,with ball to powder ratio of 10:1 at 300 rpm speed,using 1%stearic acid and toluene as process control agent(PCA)with time varying from 10 h to 36 *** synthesized nanocrystalline powder were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy,X-ray Diffraction technique,X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy,and Differential Scanning ***,flowability in terms of Hausner ratio was assessed by Tap Density *** particle size of the powder was found to decrease from 33μm to 22μm after 10 h of milling and further increases to 43μm and 38μm after 25 and 36 h of milling,respectively,in stearic acid ***,in toluene medium particle size continuously decreases from 33μm to 9.7μm with increasing milling *** particle morphology changes from spherical to platelet shape at low milling hours in both of the *** 25 h of milling,the shape of the particles is nearly spherical for stearic acid and irregular for toluene used as a *** size was found to decrease with increasing milling time from 147 nm to 7.7 nm and to 6.4 nm in stearic acid and toluene media,*** was presence ofγ,γʹ,β,hcp-Co,Al_(2)O_(3)and AlOOH phases on the powder particles milled in both the *** measured Hausner ratio of the powders was found to vary from 1.18 to 1.32 in stearic acid medium,and was found to increase with increasing milling *** the other hand,in toluene media flowability decreases(Hausner ratio increases from 1.33 to 1.44)with increasing milling time.

Exploring one material for dual applications:A red-emitting Mg2GeO4:Eu3+ nanophosphor for future generation energy efficient WLEDs and dosimetric applications

The envisaged design and developme nt of individual mate rials to excavate a broader spectrum of desired properties and offer multiple applications are highly *** this in mind,a series of forsterite-structured Mg2GeO4:Eu3+（1 mol%-9 mol%） nanophosphors was synthesized via a solution combustion method using oxalyl dihydrazide as a *** X-ray diffraction patterns confirm the orthorhombic crystal system with a Puma space *** results clearly show irregularly shaped cluster-like structures with aggregation of the *** diffuse reflectance spectra,the optical energy band gap of the Mg2GeO4:Eu3+（1 mol%-9 mol%） nanophosphors was estimated and obtained to be～4.12-4.32 *** photoluminescence emission spectra exhibit intense peaks at ～579,589,610,661,and 707 nm,which are due to characteristic5D0→7F0,5D0→7F1,5Do→7F2,5D0→7F3and5D0→7F4transitions of Eu3+ions,*** Commission International de L'Eclairage color coordinates are gradually tuned from pale red（0.5980,0.4012） to a pure red（0.6385,0.3611） *** glow peaks showcase excellent super-linear response at low doses of γ-irradiations,indicating that the prepared phosphor can be used in thermoluminescent personal dosimetry which is a biological tissue *** aforementioned results demonstrate that the prepared Mg2GeO4:Eu3+（1 mol%-9 mol%） nanophosphors are considered an excellent candidate for dual applications,i.e.,red component in future generation white-light-emitting diodes（WLEDs） and personal dosimetric applications.

nonlinear Coupling of Kinetic Alfvén Waves and Ion Acoustic Waves in the Inner Heliosphere

We study the nonlinear coupling of kinetic Alfvén waves with ion acoustic waves applicable to the Earth’s radiation belt and near-Sun streamer belt solar wind using dynamical equations in the form of modified Zakharov *** simulations show the formation of magnetic field filamentary structures associated with density humps and dips which become turbulent at later times,redistributing the energy to higher *** magnetic power spectra exhibit an inertial range Kolmogorov-like spectral index value of-5/3 for k_(⊥)ρ_(i)n range spectra with indices~-3 for the radiation belt case and~-4 for the nearSun streamer belt solar wind case,here k_(⊥)andρ_(i)represent the wavevector component perpendicular to the background magnetic field and the ion thermal gyroradius,*** quasilinear theory in terms of the Fokker-Planck equation in the region of wavenumber turbulent spectra,we find the particle distribution function flattening in the superthermal tail population which is the signature of particle energization and plasma heating.

The report highlights the signiﬁcant progress over various regions with respect to understanding of coastal hazards,numerical modeling techniques and the generation&dissemination of coastal hazard warnings and *** developments over various regions in the globe during 2014–18 have been discussed in this report as presented during 10th Session of International Workshop on Tropical Cyclones(IWTC-X)at Bali,*** speciﬁcally,various regions have started to confront the uncertainty that cannot be removed from TC analyses and forecasts and further communicate those hazards within the context of risk[probabilistic]based *** also includes impact-based forecasts such as communicating coastal inundation information relative to total water level instead of storm surge,speciﬁcally(i.e.,anomaly from as-tronomical tide and waves).Lastly,updates to model grid conﬁguration,model resolution,and coupled dynamical systems continue to resolve the costal hazards more *** approaches have likely helped reduce loss of life relative to historical ***,regions agree that the generation and dissemination of coastal hazard information still need to be improved in view of growing population along the coast and thus increased exposure of life to coastal hazard.
