Oxygen(O_(2))-sensing matrices are promising tool. for the l.ve monitoring of extracel.ul.r O_(2) consumption l.vel. in l.ng-term cel. *** this study,ratiometric O_(2)-sensing membranes were prepared by el.ctrospinning,an easy,l.w-cost,scal.bl.,and robust method for fabricating ***(ε-caprol.ctone)and pol.(dimethyl.sil.xane pol.mers were bl.nded with tris(4,7-diphenyl.1,10-phenanthrol.ne)ruthenium(II)dichl.ride,which was used as the O_(2)-sensing probe,and rhodamine B isothiocyanate,which was used as the reference *** functional.zed scaffol.s were morphol.gical.y characterized by scanning el.ctron microscopy,and their physicochemical.profil.s were obtained by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,thermogravimetric anal.sis,and water contact angl. *** sensing capabil.ties were investigated by confocal.l.ser scanning microscopy,performing photobl.aching,reversibil.ty,and cal.bration curve studies toward different dissol.ed O_(2)(DO)*** sensing nanofibers showed a high response to changes in DO concentrations in the physiol.gical.pathol.gical.range from 0.5%to 20%and good stabil.ty under ratiometric *** addition,the sensing systems were highl. biocompatibl. for cel. growth promoting adhesiveness and growth of three cancer cel. l.nes,namel. metastatic mel.noma cel. l.ne SK-MEl.,breast cancer cel. l.ne MCF-7,and pancreatic ductal.adenocarcinoma cel. l.ne Panc-1,thus recreating a suitabl. biol.gical.environment in *** O_(2)-sensing biomaterial. can potential.y measure al.erations in cel. metabol.sm caused by changes in ambient O_(2)content during drug testing/val.dation and tissue regeneration processes.

Ul.raviol.t radiation by its wavel.ngth is divided into: UVA, UVB and UVC. Onl. UVA and UVB manage to penetrate the ozone l.yer, but due to anthropol.gical.activities, al. of them are capabl. of interacting with humans to a greater or l.sser extent, and can generate adverse effects such as cel.ul.r stress when interacting with intra-and extracel.ul.r biomol.cul.s. The skin is the first organ in contact with UV radiation, and the stress it generates can be anal.zed by the expression of a bioindicator of cel.ul.r damage such as Hsp70. Therefore, the objective of the project was: to determine the effect of UVA, UVB and UVC radiation on HaCaT epithel.al.cel.s, by anal.zing the expression of Hsp70. Material. and methods: HaCaT cel.s were cul.ured in vitro, which were irradiated with UVA, UVB and UVC l.ght at different doses, to subsequentl. determine the degree of Hsp70 expression by Immunodetection by PAGE-SDS and Western Bl.t. Resul.s: Basal.expression of Hsp70 was observed in no irradiated HaCaT cel.s. When HaCaT cel.s were irradiated with UVA, UVB, UVC, an increase in this Hsp70 protein was observed. With UVA, a higher degree of expression was observed at a time of 30 minutes of irradiation. With UVB the highest expression shifted to a time of 20 minutes. With UVC, overexpression was observed after 10 minutes. Concl.sion: UV radiation generates cel.ul.r stress on HaCaT cel.s, eval.ated by the stress bioindicator Hsp70. According to the wavel.ngth of UV radiation, those that have a shorter wavel.ngth have a greater potential.for cel.ul.r damage, such as UVC.

Ion-conducting Membranes Based on Bacterial.Cel.ul.se nanofibers Modified by Pol.(sodium acryl.te-co-2-acryl.mido-2-methyl.ropanesul.onic acid)

Green method for preparation of ion-conducting membranes(ICM) based on bacterial.cel.ul.se nanofibers(CnF) modified by a copol.mer of sodium acryl.te and 2-acryl.mido-2-methyl.ropanesul.onic acid was el.borated. FTIR and nMR data confirmed grafting of pol.acryl.te onto cel.ul.se surface. Formation of porous structure of the ICM was control.ed by SEM and AFM. The maximal.ionic conductivity of the membranes reaches 1.5 and 3.1 mS·cm^(-1)(60 ℃ and 98% rel.tive humidity) when they are saturated with water or H_2SO_4(1 mol.l.(-1)) el.ctrol.te,respectivel.. Prepared ICM was tested as a separator in a symmetrical.supercapacitor with el.ctrodes based on pol.anil.ne hydrogel. The assembl.d cel. demonstrate abil.ty to operate at high current density up to 100 A·g^(-1) maintaining specific capacitance 165 F·g^(-1). Maximal.specific capacitance of 289 F·g^(-1) was achieved at current density 1 A·g^(-1). Retaining of 90% of initial.capacitance after 10000 of charge-discharge cycl.s proves high el.ctrochemical.stabil.ty of prepared ICM.

Bl.od Pressure Profil. and Gl.cemic Control.of Type 2 Diabetics and Hypertensives at the Yal.ado Ouedraogo University Hospital. A Review of 116 Cases

Objective: The association hypertension and diabetes is important. The two pathol.gies may infl.ence each other. The aim was to study the correl.tion between gl.cemic control.and bl.od pressure control.and to determine the factors associated with bl.od pressure control. Methodol.gy: This was a descriptive cross-sectional.study with an anal.tical.focus over 7 months. Patients were recruited as outpatients and al. underwent ambul.tory bl.od pressure measure, gl.cated hemogl.bin and creatinine measurements, and assessment of compl.ance with treatment. Resul.s: During this period 116 patients were col.ected. The predominance was femal. 69%. The mean age of the patients was 62 ± 7 years with a peak between 60 and 70 years. The average age of hypertension was 12 years and that of diabetes 6 1/2 years. The most frequentl. associated cardiovascul.r risk factor was a sedentary l.festyl. (71.5%) after age. 57.8% of patients were not control.ed at the office, with a predominance of systol.c hypertension (58.2%). 61.6% of patients were control.ed by ambul.tory bl.od pressure measure, a rate of 47.8% of white coat hypertension. Gl.cemic control.was observed in 42.2% of cases and 87% of patients had good renal.function (gl.merul.r fil.er rate ≥ 60 ml.mn). Therapeutic compl.ance was good in 53.4% of cases and dual.therapy was the most used therapeutic modal.ty 44.8% (52 patients) fol.owed by tripl. therapy. The factors associated with poor bl.od pressure control.were gl.cemic imbal.nce, non-compl.ance and monotherapy. Dual.therapy had a protective effect. Concl.sion: The association of hypertension and type 2 diabetes is frequent. The risk of occurrence increases with age. Ambul.tory bl.od pressure measure is the best method to assess bl.od pressure control. Optimization of bl.od pressure control.shoul. al.o incl.de optimization of gl.cemic control.

Digital.Social.Connectedness as a l.fel.ne for Ol.er Peopl.: Use and non-use of Vincl.sBCn During the Pandemic

This articl. presents the resul.s of a study that eval.ated Vincl.sBCn during COVID-19. This digital.based publ.c social.service aims to prevent l.nel.ness and isol.tion in +65-year-ol. adul.s l.ving in Barcel.na. Through service user(n = 12) and professional.n = 6) interviews and a questionnaire with service users(n = 255), we demonstrate the pivotal.rol. of digital.connectedness in transforming Vincl.sBCn into a l.fel.ne during the pandemic. The anal.sis reveal.d the importance of sociabil.ty, social.support, and, especial.y, entertainment in coping with pandemic fatigue and facil.tating social.connectivity and support among users. Users engaged in activities such as sharing images, songs, memes, and dail. greetings to provide proximity, sociabil.ty, and care among users, whether they bel.nged to preexisting groups or were newl. introduced to the pl.tform. It al.o facil.tated the identification of individual. who needed companionship, comfort, or more special.zed support. The findings emphasize the significance of entertainment as a resil.ence-buil.ing strategy during times of uncertainty. Despite the positive impact, not al. users equal.y used the pl.tform. non-use was strongl. associated with being a woman, having a l.w educational.l.vel. having preexisting social.rel.tionships, l.ss time of enrol.ent in the pl.tform, as wel. as a high perception of l.nel.ness, poor sel.-reported heal.h, and l.w mood. The articl. underscores the need for further research into ol.er adul.s' digital.engagement during crises, its rol. in buil.ing resil.ence, and advocating for incl.sive digital.interventions that take into account diverse ol.er adul.s' needs and experiences in crisis contexts.
