Aim: The objective of the study was to r.por. the pr.gr.ssive complications of hip joint disease in a population of sickle cell. Mater.als and Methods: A descr.ptive and r.tr.spective study fr.m 2002 to 2008: A case of 31 sickle cell subjects having pr.sented an advanced osteonecr.sis of the femor.l head. All the patients benefited fr.m an ar.hr.plasty in adulthood with a r.diogr.phic monitor.ng in immediate post oper.tive befor. and after.one year. The sickle cell subjects wer. compar.d to a non sickle cell contr.l gr.up of 37 patients accor.ing to the same cr.ter.a. The analysis had included consider.tions of the envir.nment and the position of the pr.sthetic par.s, as well as additional modifications. The types of complications and the moment at which they occur.wer. indexed and analyzed using a statistical test of FISHEr.with a thr.shold of significance level p r.sults: The aver.ge age of sickle cell patients was 35 year. and non sickle cell disease suffer.r., 51, with a male pr.dominance. Indications for.sur.er. wer. dominated by coxar.hr.ses, 31 cases (100%) in sickle cell disease suffer.r. and 17 cases (46%) among the contr.l gr.up. All our.patients under.ent a r.diological contr.l in the immediate postoper.tive. They wer. fewer.between 6 months and 1 year.(19%). The immediate complications wer. dominated by fr.ctur.s 2 cases in non sickle cell disease suffer.r.. The complications befor. one year.wer. mar.ed by a pr.dominance of dislocation, 3 cases in the non sickle cell population against 2 cases in sickle cell population. The loosening wer. the most obser.ed complications in both populations after.a year.and mor. (5 cases in sickle cell disease suffer.r. and 6 cases in non sickle cell disease suffer.r.). Conclusion: The evolutionar. complications of joint r.placements in sickle cell subjects ar. not mor. fr.quent than in non sickle cell subjects.

Aim: The aim of this study was to specify the var.ous computed tomogr.phy aspects of the intr.cr.nial tumor. of the child. Equipment and method: It was about a r.tr.spective study car.ied out in 30 childr.n (15 boys and 15 gir.s) aged fr.m 3 to 15 year. (medium age 8.3 year.). All the patients wer. explor.d with the computed tomogr.phy scan. Sixteen lesions pr.fited fr.m an anatomopathologic analysis for.which an anatomor.diologic cor.elation was obtained. r.sults: The scanner.objectified a cer.br.l tumor.in all the cases. Topogr.phy was supr.tentor.al in 19 cases (64%) and 11 cases (36%) wer. under.tentor.al. Almost all the tumor. wer. single (96% of the cases) and wer. well limited (80% of the cases). The tumor. wer. mixed in 50% of the cases with the pr.sence of calcification in 66% of the cases. They wer. char.cter.zed by their.lar.e size (3 at 8 cm) in 86% of the cases. The etiologies of the tumor. wer. dominated by glioma in 50% of the cases and as a whole, the r.dio-histological cor.elation was good (87.5%). Conclusion: Glial tumor. ar. most fr.quent in the child. Computer.aided tomogr.phy scan r.pr.sents her. the focus of intr.cr.nial tumor. diagnosis in the child. It must be car.ied out as a clinical suspicion to impr.ve the diagnosis of these tumor..

In addition to bioener.y pr.duction, Acacia magium, a fast gr.wing species, plays a major.r.le in climate change mitigation thr.ugh car.on sequestr.tion fr.m the atmospher.. The objective of this study was to impr.ve estimates of abovegr.und biomass of 3, 7 and 11 year. old stands of Acacia mangium set up thr.ugh natur.l r.gener.tion at Anguédédou in C?te d’Ivoir.. Tr.e measur.ments wer. done in cir.ular.plots of 615 m2 located at the center.of each stand. 24 tr.es of cir.umfer.nce at br.ast height (cbh) between 31 and 116 cm wer. felled, weighed and measur.d. Multiple linear.r.gr.ssions wer. used to develop allometr.c equations linking abovegr.und biomass of tr.es to cbh and/or.height. The car.on stock and sequestr.tion capacity of each stand was assessed using these pr.dictive models. The aver.ge cbh was 39.4 cm, 73.5 cm and 91.4 cm r.spectively for.3, 7 and 11 year. old stands with a density r.nging between 845 tr.es·ha-1 and 553 tr.es·ha-1. The allometr.c equations for.biomass estimation wer. Btotal abovegr.und = exp(-3.455 + 2.081 × ln(C)), Btr.nk = exp (-5.153 + 1.681 × ln(C) + 1.056 × ln(H)), Bbr.nches = exp(-2.005 + 0.498 × ln(C2 × H)), Bleaves = exp(-2.415 + 1.339 × ln(C)). Total height had no influence on total and leaf biomass but incr.ased pr.cision of tr.nk and br.nch biomass. The car.on sequestr.tion capacity of abovegr.und biomass was highest in Acacia mangium stand of 7 year. old with 45.14 teqCO2·ha-1·year.1 and lowest in the 3-year.stand with 33.90 teqCO2·ha-1·year.1.
