Terbium-picrate triethylene glycol（EO3-Tb-Pic） complex was prepared in thin film and single layer device structure of ITO/EO3-Tb-Pic/Al, using spin coating technique. The UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy analysis was performed to evaluate the electronic molecular transition of the complex. The optical band gap, Eg estimated from the Tauc model revealed that EO3-Tb-Pic thin film exhibited a direct transition with Eg of 2.70 eV. The electronic parameters of the ITO/EO3-Tb-Pic/Al device such as the ideality factor n, barrier height Φb, saturation current Io, and series resistance Rs, were extracted from the conventional lnI-V, Cheung＇s functions and norde＇s method. It was found that the evaluated parameters calculated from norde＇s and Cheung＇s methods were consistent with those calculated from the conventional I-V method. In the double logarithmic I-V plot, three distinct regions based on the slope were identified, and the conduction mechanisms were discussed and explained. The mobility, μ value was estimated from SCLC region as 2.58×10^–7 cm2/（V·s）. This newly obtained lanthanide complex may be potentially utilized in electronic devices.

Within the consistent daily rhythm of human life,intervertebral discs endure a variety of complex loads beyond the influences of gravity and muscle forces,leading to significant morphological changes(in terms of volume,area,and height)as well as biomechanical alterations,including an increase in disc stiffness and a decrease in intradiscal ***,the discs demonstrate an ability to regain their original morphological and biomechanical characteristics after a period of nocturnal *** preservation of normal disc function is critically dependent on this recovery phase,which serves to forestall premature disc *** phenomenon of disc recovery has been extensively documented through numerous in vivo studies employing advanced clinical techniques such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI),stadiometry,and intradiscal pressure ***,the findings from in vitro studies present a more complex picture,with reports varying between full recovery and only partial recuperation of the disc ***,research focusing on degenerated discs in vitro has shed light on the quantifiable impact of degeneration on the disc ability to *** dynamics within the disc are considered a primary factor in recovery,yet the disc intricate multiscale structure and its viscoelastic properties also play key *** elements interact in complex ways to influence the recovery mechanism,particularly in relation to the overall health of the *** objective of this review is to collate,analyze,and critically evaluate the existing body of in vivo and in vitro research on this topic,providing a comprehensive understanding of disc recovery *** understanding offers a blueprint for future advancements in medical treatments and bionic engineering solutions designed to mimic,support,and enhance the natural recovery processes of intervertebral discs.

Variability in vitamin A (VA) intake of pregnant women in ngaoundere town according to geographic origin, socio-professional and demographic factors was studied. A total of 100 pregnant women attending ante natal visits at the Regional Hospital in ngaoundere were involved in the survey. A questionnaire was used to obtain information on geographic origin, socio-professional status, birth history, demographic and anthropometric factors. Dietary intake was assessed using 24-hour dietary recall. Meals potentially rich in VA consumed by these women were collected, their carotenoids contents quantified and VA activity determined by conversion. Results indicated that daily VA intake of these women varied significantly (p n, level of education and age of pregnancy. VA intake of pregnant women of northern origin (Adamawa, north and Far north Regions) was significantly (p n) than that of women of Southern origin (588 μg/day/woman), although both were below the recommended intake of 800 μg/day/woman. The more educated a woman and the older her pregnancy, the higher her VA intake. VA consumption of pregnant women of northern origin was significantly influenced by their age, whereas for pregnant women of Southern origin, BMI (Body Mass Index) equally had a significant influence on their VA intake. Socio-professional status, marital status and number of children did not significantly influence the daily VA intake of these women. Thus, a pregnant woman originating from the northern part of the country and having no formal education, consumed less foods rich in carotenoids and therefore was more at risk for vitamin A deficiency.

Study and Application of Polarographic Catalytic Wave of Chlordiazepoxide in the Presence of Persulfate

Polarographic catalytic wave of chlordiazepoxide in the presence of k 2S 2O 8 was studied in aqueous and DMF/H 2O mixed solutions. The results showed that a single reduction wave in alkaline medium was the reduction of the n=C bond in 1,2 position of chlordiazepoxide via an intermediate free radical in two one electron successive additions. When k 2S 2O 8 was present, the free radical of the n=C bond was oxidized to regenerate the original, producing a parallel catalytic wave of chlordiazepoxide. It was determined that the apparent rate constant k f of the oxidation reaction was 3.2×10 3 mol -1 ·L·s -1 . Using the catalytic wave the trace of chlordiazepoxide can be determined by linear potential scan polarography. In nH 3/nH 4Cl (pH 10.2±0.1, 0.12 mol/L)/k 2S 2O 8 (0.016 mol/L) supporting electrolyte, the second order derivative peak current of the catalytic wave was rectilinear to chlordiazepoxide concentration in the range of 3.20×10 -8 -1.60×10 -7 , 1.60×10 -7 -1.44×10 -6 and 1.44 ×10 -6 -1.44×10 -5 mol/L, respectively. The limit of detection was 9.0×10 -9 mol/L.

This paper describes some significant fluorescent and photostability properties of Coumarin Disperse Yellow 82. The study aims at spectrophotometric colour measurements on fluorescence of Coumarin Disperse Yellow 82. Spectral parameters such as relative strength percentage and reflectance with different dye concentrations performance on polyester and polyester/cotton substrates were assessed. Light fastness property was also evaluated. Evaluation of photodegradation quantum yield of the dye in methanol, ethanol and n,n-dimethylformamide (DMF) under aerobic and anaerobic conditions have also been investigated. The relative strength, reflectance and light fastness of dyed polyester for the different dye concentrations were proven to be better in comparison to dyed polyester/cotton blend. The photodegradation quantum yield of dye in methanol, ethanol and DMF solutions under anaerobic condition showed higher dye photodegradation quantum in DMF for the various concentrations of dye used. Under aerobic condition irradiation under nitrogen atmosphere attained higher degradation whereas the presence of air reduced degradation.

This paper examines the risk of Vitamin A deficiency among selected pregnant women in ngaoundere, Adamawa Region, Cameroon. A total of one hundred (100) pregnant women attending ante natal visits at the Regional Hospital in ngaoundere were involved in a survey conducted in 2012 which used a 24-hour dietary recall to assess their dietary intake. Food models were used to assist memory and portion sizes of food taken. Carotenoids were quantified in the meals commonly consumed, as well as proteins, sugar, fibers and oil, nutrients intervening in carotenoids absorption and vitamin A metabolism. The results indicated that the dietary intake of vitamin A was inadequate with 37.5% of the selected pregnant women exposed to acute vitamin A deficiency, while 20% of them were exposed to the severe form. The daily consumption of vitamin A was about 539.09 ± 43.09 μg, corresponding to a contribution of 67.39% to the vitamin A requirement of the pregnant women. The dietary intake of macronutrients was also inadequate with a daily consumption of 57.28 ± 12 g for oils, 177.88 ± 29 g for sugars, 47.34 ± 11 g for proteins and 11.28 ± 3 g for fibers corresponding respectively to a contribution of 63.6%, 70.8%, 78.90% and 45.1% of these nutrients requirement in these women. Given that over 50% of the women surveyed were exposed to vitamin A deficiency, there is a need for urgent intervention programs in the area to alleviate this situation.

Structural and molecular features of intestinal strictures in rats with Crohn's-like disease

AIM: To develop a new rat model we wanted to gain a better understanding of stricture formation in Crohn’s disease (CD).METHODS: Chronic colitis was induced locally by the administration of 2,4,6-trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid (TnBS). The relapsing inflammation characteristic to CD was mimicked by repeated TnBS treatments. Animals were randomly divided into control, once, twice and three times TnBS-treated groups. Control animals received an enema of saline. Tissue samples were taken from the strictured colonic segments and also adjacent proximally and distally to its 60, 90 or 120 d after the last TnBS or saline administrations. The frequency and macroscopic extent of the strictures were measured on digital photographs. The structural features of strictured gut wall were studied by light- and electron microscopy. Inflammation related alterations in TGF-beta 2 and 3, matrix metalloproteinases 9 (MMP9) and TIMP1 mRnA and protein expression were determined by quantitative real-time PCR and western blot analysis. The quantitative distribution of caspase 9 was determined by post-embedding ***: Intestinal strictures first appeared 60 d after TnBS treatments and the frequency of them increased up to day 120. From day 90 an intact lamina epithelialis, reversible thickening of lamina muscularis mucosae and irreversible thickening of the muscularis externa were demonstrated in the strictured colonic segments. nevertheless the morphological signs of apoptosis were frequently seen and excess extracellular matrix deposition was recorded between smooth muscle cells (SMCs). Enhanced caspase 9 expression on day 90 in the SMCs and on day 120 also in myenteric neurons indicated the induction of apoptosis. The mRnA expression profile of TGF-betas after repeated TnBS doses was characteristic to CD, TGF-beta 2, but not TGF-beta 3 was up-regulated. The cultivated area of jujube in Xinjiang has increased rapidly in recent *** the jujube harvest by hand has the shortage of high labor intensity,low efficiency and high labor cost,in addition,the harvesting machinery applying to dwarf and dense planting mode of jujubes is unavailable in *** 4ZZ-4A2 based on the full-hydraulic self-propelled jujube harvester was designed to solve the above *** harvester was mainly composed of a frame,a vibrating device,a jujube collecting and conveying device,an air separation device,a steering system,a hydraulic system and a jujube suction device and was capable of completing vibration,collection,conveying,cleaning and sundries removal work of jujubes through one *** jujubes dropped on the ground were picked up at the same *** AMESim simulation software was adopted to perform simulation analysis on the overall hydraulic *** results showed that the speed of the vibrating motor was stable at about 650 r/min(the corresponding vibration frequency is 10.83 Hz)with the torque of 80 n·m,the speed of the conveyor motor was stable at 77 r/min with the torque of 77 n·m;the speed of the fan motor was stable at 54 r/min with the torque of 53.6 n·m;the speed of the walking motor fluctuated around 100 r/min with the torque of about 1000 n·m;the hydraulic steering system responded rapidly and could satisfy the actual working requirements of the jujube *** jujube garden test results showed that the harvester could reach to the optimum harvesting effect when running at the speed of 0.5 m/*** such speed,the ground jujube picking rate was 45.1%,the tree jujube harvesting rate was 93.2%,the loss rate was 2.9%,and the damage rate was 0.9%.This study can provide theoretical basis and technical support for the jujube harvester.
