Background:Complementary medicine is an interesting field for extracting bio-active compounds from various plant and animal *** hepatoprotective effect of the methanolic extract of a species of sea cucumber called Holothuria leu-cospilota in an animal model of liver cancer caused by dimethyl nitrosamine(DMn)was ***:Wistar female rats were randomly divided into five groups(n=12):control(intact),positive control(received 1%DMn[10 mg/kg/week,intraperitoneally]for 12 weeks),and three treatment groups(received 50,100,and 200 mg/kg/day ***-cospilota extract orally for 12 weeks along with intraperitoneal administration of 1%DMn[10 mg/kg/week]).In all groups,ultrasound was performed on the liver every week to check its *** sampling and liver isolation were performed on three occasions,at 4,8,and 12 weeks,to check liver enzymes and the histopathological condition of the liver tissue(every week,four animals from each group were randomly selected).Results:Liver density changes were evident from the eighth week onward in the positive control *** results indicated pathologic changes in the positive control group after 4 *** increase in liver enzymes in the posi-tive control group was significantly different from that in the treatment and control ***:We demonstrated the hepatoprotective effect of *** on DMn-induced liver damage in rats using biochemical and histological parameters and *** additional research(in silico or in vitro)is needed to find the exact mechanism and the main biological compound in ***.

This paper systematically investigates the effective parameter ontheperformanceof polydimethylsiloxane/graphene(PDMS@Gr)-based triboelectric nanogenerators(TEnGs)as well as their ***@Gr films containing 0,0.05,0.5,1,and 1.5 wt.%graphene are synthesized,and their sur-face characteristics,mechanical behavior,and electrical prop-erties are *** contact-separation mode TEnGs are fabricated,and their performance is *** results demonstrate that the surface roughness and sur-face charge density are the most critical parameters for the performance of PDMS@Gr-based TEnGs compared to the elec-trical and mechanical properties of the friction *** PDMS@Gr-based TEnG with 1 wt.%graphene shows the high-est power output of 2.6 W/m?at an optimized working con-dition(5 Hz and 15 n).It also exhibits stable power output until 15,oo0 working cycles and displays battery-free applica-tions by powering a light-emitting diode(LED)array,a calculator,a digital watch,and a digital thermometer.

Modeling functional brain connections in methamphetamine and opioid abusers

Substance abuse has become a significant problem *** primary purpose of this study was to model the functional brain connectivity in methamphetamines(Meth)and opioids(Op)groups in comparison with the healthy control(HC)*** data were recorded in Meth(n=8),Op(n=12),and HC groups(n=12)in a closed-eye resting *** neuCube model based on a spiking neural network was used for EEG data's functional brain connectivity *** neuCube model was evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively with model descriptive *** results showed the average value of the neuron's activation level,spikes emitted from neurons,and clustering coefficient as a communication parameter in the HC group decreased from 1154,1103,0.026 to 1036,981,0.020 in the Op group and to 511,468,0.009 in the Meth group,*** changes in indices were significant according to the AnOVA test with p〈*** decrease in indices was more significant in the Meth group than in the Op *** research findings showed that the abuse of Meth and Op causes damage to the brain's functional *** damage included shortening and limiting communication routes and decreased neurons'ability to generate membrane potential and emit inhibitory and excitatory *** were reported to be more severe in the Meth group than in the Op group.

Interactive Effect of GA_3 ,n and P Ameliorate Growth, Seed and Fibre Yield by Enhancing Photosynthetic Capacity and Carbonic Anhydrase Activity of Linseed: A Dual Purpose Crop

Linseed （Linum usitatissimum L.） is an important dual-purpose, industrial crop. Its seeds are used for the extraction of oil and stem for fibres. However, the production of linseed is not going parallel with the increasing demand of its products. The present work was carried out with an aim to find out whether exogenous application of gibberellic acid （GA3） with or without graded levels of nitrogen （n） and phosphorus （P） could improve the performance of three linseed genotypes Parvati, Shekhar and Shubhra together with minimizing the costly fertilizer input and losses. Four combinations of n and P, viz., 0 mg n＋0 mg P kg-1 soil （n0P0）, n13.4 P4.46 , n26.8P8.94 and n40.2P13.4 were constituted. Half dose of each combination was applied basally at the time of sowing and remaining half dose was given at 40 d after sowing （DAS） as foliar spray along with 10-6 mol L-1 GA3 . Prior to sowing, the seeds of each linseed genotype were grouped in to two, one group of seeds was soaked in 0 mol L-1 GA3 （control） and the other group was soaked in 10-6 M GA3 solution, each for 8 hours. Treatments were comprised of （i） 0 mol L-1 GA3＋n0P0 （T0 , control）, （ii） 10-6 mol L-1 GA3 ＋ n13.4P4.46 （T1）, （iii） 10-6 mol L-1 GA 3 ＋n 26.8 P 8.94 （T2） and （iv） 10-6 mol L-1 GA3＋n40.2P13.4 （T3）. The crop performance was assessed in terms of growth, physiological and biochemical parameters at 60 and 75 DAS and yield attributes at harvest （175 DAS）. The results showed a parallel increase in most of the parameters with increasing levels of n and P. However, application of 10-6 mol L-1 GA3 in association with n26.8P8.94 proved best, it enhanced seed yield, oil yield and fibre yield by 83.3, 97.3 and 78.7%, respectively accompanied with increase in net photosynthetic rate, carbonic anhydrase activity and dry matter accumulation. Accurate 3D Thermal network Development for Direct-drive Outer-rotor Hybrid-PM Flux-switching Generator

Heat and thermal problems are major obstacles to achieving high power density in compact permanent magnet(PM)***,a comprehensive,accurate,and rapid temperature rise estimation method is required for novel electric machines to ensure safe and reliable operations.A unique three-dimensional(3D)lumped parameter thermal network(LPTn)is presented for accurate thermal modeling of a newly developed outer-rotor hybrid-PM flux switching generator(OR-HPMFSG)for direct-drive ***,the losses of the OR-HPMFSG are calculated using 3D finite element analysis(FEA).Subsequently,all machine components considering the thermal contact resistance,anisotropic thermal conductivity of materials,and various heat flow paths are comprehensively modeled based on the thermal *** the proposed 3-D LPTn,internal nodes are considered to predict the average temperature as well as the hot spots of all active and passive *** measurements are performed on a prototype OR-HPMFSG to validate the efficiency of the 3-D LPTn.A comparison of the results at various operating points between the developed 3-D LPTn,experimental test,and FEA indicates that the 3-D LPTn quickly approximates the hotspot and mean temperature of all components under both transient and steady states with high accuracy.

In today’s manufacturing industries,hard competition between rival firms makes it compulsory for researchers to design lighter and cheaper machine components due to the megatrends of cost-effectiveness and *** this point,aluminum syntactic foams(ASFs)are new-generation engineering composites and come into the upfront as a *** to their features like low density,sufficient elongation,and perfect energy absorption ability,these advanced foams have been considerably seductive for many industrial sectors *** this study,an industrial-oriented automatic die casting technology was used for the first time to manufacture the combination of AA7075/porous expanded clay(PEC).Micro evaluations(optical and FESEM)reveal that there is a homogenous particle distribution in the foam samples,and inspections are compatible with the other ASF ***,T6 aging heat treatment was operated on one half of the produced foams to explore the probable impact of aging on the compressive *** results show that PEC particles can be an alternative to expensive hollow spheres used in the previous ***,a favorable relationship is ascertained between the aging treatment and mechanical properties such as compression strength and plateau strength.

Predicting effects of tunnel throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow by a continuum model

Fluid flow throttling is common in industrial and building services *** tunnel throttling of vehicular flow is caused by the abrupt number reduction of roadway lane,as the tunnel has a lower lane number than in the roadway normal *** predict the effects of tunnel throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow,a three-lane continuum model is ***Ⅲof the tunnel is completely blocked due to the need of tunnel rehabilitation,*** exists mandatory net lane-changing rate from laneⅢto laneⅡjust upstream of the tunnel entrance,which is described by a model of random number generated through a golden section *** net-changing rate between adjacent lanes is modeled using a lane-changing time expressed explicitly in algebraic *** paper assumes that the annular freeway has a total length of 100 km,a two-lane tunnel of length 2 km with a speed limit of 80 km/*** free flow speeds on lanesⅠ,ⅡandⅢare assumed to be 110,100 and 90 km/h *** on the three-lane continuum model,numerical simulations of vehicular flows on the annular freeway with such a tunnel are conducted with a reliable numerical method of 3rd-order *** results reveal that the vehicular flow has a smaller threshold of traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tunnel *** fuel consumption can be estimated by interpolation with time averaged grid traffic speed and an assumed curve of vehicle *** vehicle fuel consumption is lane number dependent,distributes with initial density concavely,ranging from 5.56 to 8.00 *** throttling leads to an earlier traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tunnel throttling.
