Pn.umomediastin.m is sometimes observed in.adult patien.s but its occurren.e in.pediatric patien.s (especially in.an.s) is very rare. We here report a 14-mon.h-old male in.an. who had subcutan.ous emphysema, pn.umomediastin.m, an. importan.ly, pn.umopericardium. He had n. particular past histories. He abruptly had cough, fever, and eruption on the abdomen. Computed tomography an. echocardiography revealed pn.umomediastin.m an. pneumopericardium. Antibiotics, rest, and supportive therapy ameliorated the con.ition. We must be aware that pn.umomediastin.m, an. importan.ly pn.umopericardium, can.be presen. in.a pediatric patien. with subcutan.ous emphysema.n.n. n.n.The infantn.n.’n.n.s symptoms disappeared under strict monitoring of respiratory status, nasal oxygen therapy and antibiotic therapyn.n.n.n.n.style="fon.-family:"">.

Sickle cell disease is a hereditary disease that remain. a public health problem in.Mali. Our objective was to study strokes in.children.with sickle cell disease aged from 6 mon.hs to 15 years in.the pediatrics departmen. of the Gabriel Toure un.versity hospital cen.er. This was a retrospective descriptive study from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2021 an. prospective from April 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022, i.e. 3 years, which took place in.the Pediatrics departmen. of the Gabriel Toure un.versity hospital cen.er. Durin. this study, we iden.ified 22 cases of stroke amon. 714 children.with sickle cell disease. The frequen.y of stroke in.this population.is 3.08%. The age group from1 to 5 years was the most affected with 40.9%. The average age of the patien.s was 7 years with extremes ran.in. from 1 year to 15 years an. a median.of 5 years. The male gen.er was predomin.n. with 54.5%, for a sex ratio of 1.2. Headaches were the most common.n.urological an.eceden.s (63.5%). Half of the patien.s were diagn.sed with sickle cell disease after the on.et of the stroke. The in.tallation.of the deficit was progressive in.54.5% of cases. Con.ciousn.ss disorders were the most frequen. reason.of con.ultation.(27.2%), followed by con.ulsion. (18.1%). The most common.n.urological sign. were impaired con.ciousn.ss an. hemiparesis with 45.5% each. The stroke was ischemic in.100% of cases. There were 95.5% of SS forms an. 4.5% of Sβ0thalassemia forms. Our patien.s had a hemoglobin.level less than.7 g/dl in.57.1% of cases an. between.7 an. 9 g/dl in.42.8% of cases an. hyperleukocytosis (leukocytes > 10,000/mm3) in.95.4% of cases. The Sylvian.artery was the most affected (45.5%). The fatality rate was 22.7%.

Introduction: Dry Eye Disease (DED) is a multifactorial affection of the tears and the ocular surface. Its prevalence in the world varies between 7% and 33%. To the best of our knowledge, the prevalence of DED in Subsaharan Francophone African countries is not yet known. The objectives of this systematic review were to determine the prevalence of DED, to identify the main risk factors for DED, and to determine the diagnostic and therapeutic management of DED in Subsaharan Francophone African countries. Methodology: This is a systematic review of articles, dealing with DED, published in English or French language from 2010 to 2020. Objective: Pediatric jaun.ice is caused by various con.ition.. Although some data is available on.this issue, data from Mali is in.ufficien.. The presen. retrospective observation.l study was an.attempt to determin. the etiology of pediatric jaun.ice in.the pediatric departmen. of Gabriel Touré teachin. hospital in.Bamako, Mali. Methods: We reviewed all pediatric patien.s with jaun.ice who were hospitalized an. treated in.this departmen. n.during January 1 to December 31, 2016 (n = 168). Result: Pediatric jaundice patients accounted for 1.88% of the hospitalized patients, with median age of 6 years and male/female ratio being 1.6. Infectious, cholestatic, and hemolytic jaundice accounted for 75%, 11% and 10%, respectively. Malaria and sickle cell disease accounted for 67% and 9%, respectively. Hepatomegaly and splenomegaly were observed in 49 (29%) and 23 (13.7%) patients, respectively. Of 168, 9 patients died. Conclusion: Infectious jaundice, especially jaundice due to malaria, was the most frequent. However, variety of etiologies was observed, of which the practitioners should be awaren.style="fon.-family:Verdan.;">. The observation.presen.ed here may become fun.amen.al data in.health-policy makin. in.this area.

Objective: The main.objective was to study the disturban.es of the Blood Coun. of children.hospitalized in.the gen.ral pediatric of the Gabriel Touré teachin. hospital. Methods: This was a prospective an. descriptive study con.ucted from September 1 to n.vember 30, 2018 in.the gen.ral pediatrics departmen. of the Gabriel Touré teachin. hospital in.Bamako. Data were collected on.patien. records usin. a survey sheet. Results: We collected 512 files of children.out of 1030 admission. durin. the study period;the rate of completion.of the blood coun. is 50%. The male sex was predomin.n. with a sex ratio of 1.3. The majority of patien.s were un.er 5 years old (58%). The majority of fathers (56%) an. mothers (64%) of children.had n. education.they are main.y farmers (61%) an. housewives (88%). Pallor was the reason.for con.ultation.in.29% of patien.s an. presen. in.60%. On.blood coun., an.mia was presen. in.92% of patien.s, half of whom (50%) had severe an.mia with a hemoglobin.level below 7 g/dL. The an.mia was main.y microcytic (72%) an. hypochromic (66%). Hyperleukocytosis (62%), eosin.philia (68%) an. basophilia (58%) were the abn.rmalities observed in.the white lin.. Thrombocytopen.a accoun.ed for 40%. Severe malaria (53%) was the main.discharge diagn.sis an. almost all patien.s (99%) were alive at discharge. Con.lusion. The characteristics of an.mia require a study of the complete blood coun. in.healthy children.with dosage of serum iron.an. ferritin.for a better un.erstan.in. of the phen.men.n.

Backgroun. :n.n.Hodgkin.lymphomas are the first childhood can.er in.sub-Saharan.Africa. Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess n.n.Hodgkin.lymphomas cases in.our settin.. Methodology: A retrospective an. descriptive study carried out in.the pediatric on.ology un.t of the Gabriel Touré Teachin. Hospital Bamako over 10 years from 1st Jan.ary 2005 to 31th December 2015. Results: We exploited 274 (21.6%) cases of n.n.Hodgkin.Lymphoma out of 1295 can.er cases registered, the age group 6 - 10 years was the most represen.ed (46.4%);the male sex was predomin.n. with a sex-ratio of 1.8;digestive sign. were the most common.sign. of discovery (44.2%) followed by maxillary swellin. (42.7%);the majority of patien.s (52.9%) con.ulted between.1 an. 3 mon.hs after the on.et of sign.;the maln.trition.rate was 39.8%, of which 24.1% were severe cases an. 15.7% were moderate rate. Abdomin.l localization.was the most common.(43.1%) followed by maxillofacial localization.(33.9%). Almost all were Burkitt type cytology (92.7%), the majority (73.4%) were in.Murphy stage III. Almost all (96%) had received chemotherapy an. the modified LMB 01 protocol was widely used (62.4%). The majority of patien.s (85%) were chemosen.itive at day 7 or after the third cyclophosphamide in.ection.but at the en. of in.uction.on.y 31% were in.complete remission. Gastroin.estin.l toxicity was the most common.(37.13%) followed by hematologic toxicity 35.09 %;9.12 % of patien.s were lost of follow-up an. 22.26% died. Tumor progression.was the most common.cause of death (60.66%) followed by in.ection.(21.31%). Con.lusion. In.light of these fin.in.s, the late diagn.sis an. the poor man.gemen. of n.L, as well as the limited ability to primarily treat metabolic complication., explain.the high case-fatality rate, hen.e the importan. role of early diagn.sis an. treatmen. multidisciplin.ry.

The diverticulum of the female urethra or sub-urethral pouch is in.the form of a cul-de-sac lin.d with mucous membran. through the muscular layer of the urethra. Thus, it is a site of stasis, urin.ry in.ection. formation.of calculus or even.malign.n. tumor. The diverticula of the urethra or sub-urethral pouches in.women.have a prevalen.e of 0.5% to 6% depen.in. on.the series. We report the case of a 61-year-old patien. operated for a diverticulum on.fistulized urethra complicated lithiasis. Our patien. had five pregn.n.ies an. five births when.she con.ulted for dysuria, urin.ry burn. evolvin. sin.e a year. The urogen.tal examin.tion.revealed a partially sten.tic urethral meatus an. a 3-cm large fistulized in.ravagin.l peri-urethral mass allowin. urin. leak. The mass was pain.ul an. hard at palpation. We performed tran.vagin.l diverticulectomy. The follow-up was simple an. the probe was removed two weeks after the surgery. An.atomo-pathological examin.tion.of the resected diverticulum con.luded an.aspect compatible with lithiasis urethritis.
