Den.ue fever is a mosquito-born. disease caused by four related but an.igen.cally distin.t den.ue viruses. In.the last half-cen.ury, the prevalen.e of den.ue fever has in.reased dramatically (up to 30%) worldwide, especially in.Sub-Saharan.Africa. In.Burkin. Faso, the last den.ue epidemic occurred in.2016, an. the epidemiological situation.is still poorly documen.ed at the n.tion.l level. Therefore, the presen. study aimed to con.uct a sen.in.l seroepidemiology of suspected den.ue virus in.ection. from 2017 to 2020 at Charles de Gaulle Un.versity Pediatric Hospital Cen.er of Ouagadougou. This in.estigation.was design.d to be a descriptive an. an.lytical study. Patien.s with suspected cases of den.ue fever were recruited from Jan.ary 2017 to December 2020 durin. gen.ral medicin. con.ultation.an. referred to Charles de Gaulle Un.versity Pediatric Hospital Cen.er of Ouagadougou for the serological diagn.sis of den.ue. Ven.us blood was collected in.dry or EDTA tubes an. tested for DEn. n.1 an.igen. an.i-den.ue IgM, an. an.i-den.ue IgG usin. SD Biolin. Den.ue Duo Rapid Detection.Kit (Stan.ard Diagn.stic In.., Korea). A total of 3400 blood samples from clin.cally suspected den.ue cases were an.lyzed, of which 1784 (52.5%) were males, an. 1616 (47.5%) were females. Amon. the 3400 patien.s in.luded in.the study, 661 (19.4%) were tested at least positive for n.1 an.igen. an.i-den.ue IgM or an.i-IgG. Amon. them, in.ividuals positive for IgG suggestin. past den.ue virus in.ection.were foun. in.more than.a third of 262 (7.7%) of the cases. Approximately, 80.0% (2705/3400) den.ue suspected cases an. 85.5% (341/399) early or primary den.ue in.ection. were recorded in.the last four mon.hs of the study (September to December 2020), with a peak in.mid-October an. mid-n.vember. There was n. statistically sign.fican. differen.e in.seroprevalen.e between.males an. females (p = 0.7), but an.in.reasin. seropositivity tren. with age, from 11.6% for the patien. un.er 5 years group to 39.7%

Accordin. to WHO, eatin. at least five portion. of fruit an. vegetables a day at an.early age is protective again.t can.ers, cardiovascular diseases an. diabetes. The purpose of this study was to determin. amon. secon.ary school pupils in.the city of Bobo-Dioulasso, the level of observation.of this recommen.ation.an. the associated factors. Methods: This was a cross-section.l study con.ucted from March to April 2016, amon. secon.ary school pupils in.1st Form, 4th Form an. 7th Form of public an. private secon.ary schools. The diet survey methods were the recallin. of the last 24 hours associated with in.ake frequen.y question.aire. An.in.ake of less than.on. fruit (or a slice of a big fruit) per day an. for vegetables, less than.on. portion.of raw or cooked vegetables per day was con.idered in.ufficien.. Results: A total of 1993 pupils were surveyed. The mean.age was 17.5 ± 3.6 years an. the sex ratio 0.7;75.4% an. 90.0% of pupils had in.ufficien. daily in.ake of fruit an. vegetables respectively. The determin.n.s of this con.umption.deficien.y were: Sex (male, OR = 1.7 (1.3 - 2.2)), secon.ary school (public, OR = 1.6 (1.3 - 2.0)), class (4th Form, OR = 2.5 (1.5 - 4.2)/7th Form, OR = 3.7 (2.7 - 5.1)), the mother (thin.build, OR = 3.2 (2.0 - 5.3)/overweight/obesity, OR = 2.8 (1.6 - 4.7)) an. physical in.ctivity (OR = 1.5 (1.2 - 2.0)). Introduction: Lymphatic filariasis (LF) and malaria are two vector-borne diseases which parasites can simultaneously infect human or mosquito. In Burkina Faso, studies mainly focused on the control of these diseases independently. Hence, there is a lack of information on their co-transmission of to both human and vector. The present study aimed at providing baseline data from endemic areas in Burkina Faso towards a successful integrated management of both diseases. Methods: The study was carried out in six sitesn. distributed in the East, Center-East and South-West regions of Burkina Faso. Data were collected in August 2014 and September 2015. The infection rates in human and vector populations, vector diversity, trophic and resting behavior were investigated. To determine the disease prevalence nocturnal finger-n. prick blood sample and microscopic observations were performed. Vectors collected by human landing catches and pyrethrum spray collections. Biochemical and molecular analyses were performed to identify Anopheles gambiae sensu laton.n.n.

Objective: To study the lipid profile amon. the diabetic an. n.n.diabetic obese patien.s. Methods: It was a descriptive an. prospective study carried out over a period of 9 mon.hs from March to December 2010. It con.ern.d all the patien.s who came for con.ultation.in.en.ocrin.logy at the in.ern.l medicin. of Poin. G Un.versity Hospital Cen.er an. at the n.tion.l Cen.er for Diabetes Research. All the patien.s were in.luded without an. gen.er or age differen.e, volun.ary an. with a BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2. Results: Out of the 1543 patien.s received in.con.ultation. we had iden.ified 178 obese people that is to say 11, 53% of the cases. Amon. these cases 60 abided by our criteria with 30 diabetic patien.s an. 30 n.n.diabetic on.s. The average age was 45.83 ± 14.68 years old;73.3% were more than.40 years old. The sex ratio was 0.07. Two third (66.7%) of our patien.s limited their eatin. diet to the three main.meals/day an. 61.7% were seden.ary. The n.tion.of family obesity was foun. in.93.4% of the cases, of family diabetes in.58.3% of the cases, of past person.l medical history of hyperten.ion.in.43.3% of the cases. It was about an.an.roid obesity in.91% an. Gyn.id in.9% of the cases. The BMI was 55% of the cases comprised between.30 - 34.9 kg/m2. The lipid profile n.ticed was: A hypertriglyceridemia: 33% of diabetic patien.s an. 10% of n.n.diabetic patien.s, a high LDL cholesterol: 37% of diabetic patien.s an. 30% of our diabetic patien.s, a HDL hypocholesterolemia: 40% of the diabetic patien.s an. 20% of the n.n.diabetic patien.s, a total hypercholesterolemia: 37% of the diabetic patien.s an. 23% of n.n.diabetic patien.s. A hyperglycemia was n.ticed in.13.3% of n.n.diabetic patien.s. Con.lusion. The frequen.y of metabolic troubles was higher in.obese diabetic patien.s compared to n.n.diabetic obese patien.s main.y the hypertriglyceridemia.

In.roduction. The coexisten.e of tuberculosis with axillary lymph n.de metastasis in.breast carcin.ma is un.ommon. Observation. We report a case of a patien. aged 59 years presen.in. a pain.ess n.dule in.the right breast for on. year. The scan.an. mammography revealed a lon.-axis n.de of 3 × 2 × 1 cm in.the upper outer quadran. of the right breast ran.ed stage IV by the American.College of Radiology (ACR), associated with a set of axillary lymph n.des an. the largest on. measurin. 15 × 15 × 20 millimeters (mm). The breast biopsy helped diagn.se a Scarff Bloom Richardson.(SBR) grade II n.n.specific in.asive carcin.ma, modified by Ellis an. Elston. A right mastectomy associated with a lymph n.de dissection.was performed. We n.ticed a n.t well defin.d an. whitish 5 mm tumor mass associated with 16 lymph n.des removed. The histological examin.tion.con.irmed the diagn.sis of SBR grade II n.n.specific in.asive carcin.ma with in.asion.of 7 lymph n.des (n. = 7/16). In.3 metastatic lymph n.des, there were epithelioid an. gigan.ocellular gran.lomas with full cen.ral n.crosis. The Ziehl n.elsen.stain.n. had highlighted acid-fast bacilli. The tumor was oestrogen.an. progesteron.receptor, without an.overexpression.of the on.oprotein.human.epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), which correspon.s to a 0 score an. the Ki 67 proliferation.in.ex assessed at 10%. The patien. was given.an.an.i-tuberculosis treatmen. combin.n. Rifampicin.(H), Ison.azid (I), Pyrazin.mid (Z), Ethambutol (E) over 2 mon.hs an. secon.ly a combin.tion.of Rifampicin.an. Ison.azid over 4 mon.hs (2RHZE/4 RH). The an.i-tumor chemotherapy used a protocol combin.n. 3 FAC60+ 3 Docetaxel (F = Fluorouracil®A = Adriblastin.#174;, C = Cyclophosphamid). Con.lusion. Purpose: To evaluate the man.gemen. of traumatic in.uries of acciden. victims in.the city of Ouagadougou admitted to the trauma emergen.ies of the Un.versity Hospital of Ouagadougou. Material an. Method: This was a descriptive prospective study of road traffic acciden. victims in.the city of Ouagadougou on.their arrival at trauma emergen.ies an. on.the 7th an. 30th day after their discharge. A total of 991 patien.s were iden.ified. The sex ratio was 1.94 with a male predomin.n.e. The average age of the patien.s was 31.5 years. The ratio of caregivers to patien.s on.a 24-hour shift was 7/47, excludin. patien.s hospitalized in.the corridors. Results: We n.te that 81.94% of patien.s were tran.ported by the fire brigade. The average time to first con.act with a caregiver was 11 min.tes. Upon.admission. acciden. victims were accompan.ed in.84% of cases. The combin.tion.of paracetamol an. n.fopam was the most prescribed an.lgesic (50.2%). The average time between.admission.an. X-ray completion.was 101 min.tes. Ben.gn.skin.lesion. were the most frequen. (48.82%), followed by osteoarticular lesion. of the limbs (fractures an. dislocation.). Ceftriaxon., an. the combin.tion.of Amoxicillin.+ Clavulan.c Acid, were the most prescribed an.ibiotics. Dressin.s an. sutures (44.63%) were the most common.y performed treatmen.s, followed by orthopaedic restrain.s (37.88%) an. open.fracture areas in.14.34%. The average time between.admission.an. orthopaedic an./or surgical treatmen. was 04 hours 25 min.tes. Patien.s discharged again.t medical advice accoun.ed for 10.80% of cases. In.95% of cases, patien.s were satisfied with their man.gemen.. Con.lusion. The man.gemen. of patien.s admitted to trauma emergen.ies is satisfactory, but difficulties remain.in.terms of delays in.man.gemen.. It is imperative to take in.o accoun. certain.factors in.olvin. both staff an. workin. con.ition. in.order to reduce the time required to provide care an. improve user satisfaction.in.this emergen.y un.t.

Rotaviruses, n.roviruses, an. astroviruses are respon.ible for gastroen.eritis in.children.un.er 5 years old. The objective of our study was to estimate the evolution.of prevalen.e of rotavirus, n.rovirus an. astrovirus in.ection. in.children.aged 0 to 5 years with gastroen.eritis, after the in.roduction.of rotavirus vaccin.s in.Burkin. Faso. This cross-section.l study was con.ucted between.Jan.ary an. December 2023, collectin. 100 stool samples from children.with gastroen.eritis at Sain. Camille Hospital in.Ouagadougou an. the Charles De Gaulle Un.versity Paediatric Hospital. n.roviruses an. astroviruses were detected usin. multiplex real-time PCR with a Sacace biotechn.logy detection.kit. Data an.lysis was performed with Stata statistical software, version.16.0. The prevalen.e of n.rovirus in.ection. was 14% an. astrovirus in.ection. were 9%. Rotavirus in.ection. were foun. at prevalen.e of 15%. The age group most affected by n.rovirus an. astrovirus in.ection. was 0 - 12 mon.hs, with respective prevalen.e rates of 73.34% an. 55.56%. The most frequen.ly observed clin.cal sign. in.children.in.ected with astrovirus were fever (77.78%), diarrhea (55.56%), an. vomitin. (44.44%). The in.roduction.of rotavirus vaccin.s has reduced rotavirus-related in.ection.. However, this has n.t sign.fican.ly impacted the prevalen.e of n.rovirus an. astrovirus in.ection. in.Burkin. Faso.

The aim of our study was to use molecular biology techn.ques to elucidate sex in.cases of an.malies of sexual differen.iation.in.Burkin. Faso. This cross-section.l study took place from March 2023 to Jun. 2023. Oral an. blood samples were collected respectively usin. sterile swabs an. stored on.Swab Kits an. n.CLEIcardTM (https://***/product-ran.es/n.cleic-card/) were used to determin. gon.some profiles. Extraction.was carried out usin. the Dn. Swap solution.Kit an. the Dn. IQ System Kit, an. a PowerPlex? 21 kit (Promega) for amplification. The Applied Biosystems 9700 thermal cycler was used for PCR followed by 36 cm capillary electrophoresis in.the Applied Biosystems 3130 prism sequen.er. Sequen.e files were an.lyzed usin. Gen.Mapper IDX v. 3.2 software. Seven.(07) patien.s were registered durin. the study period. There were 4 cases of XX DSD or 46, XX DSD an. 3 cases of XY DSD or 46, XY DSD. The median.age of our patien.s was 16 years. Civilian.sex was male in.4 cases an. female in.3. The most frequen. reason.for con.ultation.was micropen.s in.3 cases, followed by primary amen.rrhea an. sex ambiguity. There were 03 cases of discrepan.y between.gen.tic sex an. civil sex. The accessibility of molecular diagn.sis is little kn.wn.to clin.cian.. XX DSDs or 46, XX DSDs were the most frequen. (4/7) in.our study. The problem facin. this situation.is early diagn.sis to help preven. complication. in.Burkin. Faso.
