A qualitative an. quan.itative workplace assessmen. was carried out to determin. n.phtha exposure in.a tyre man.facturin. in.ustry. A qualitative chemical health risk assessmen. was con.ucted to iden.ify n.phtha hazard at the workplace. Quan.itative assessmen. usin. Portable VOC Mon.tor, Automatic Samplin. Pump an. person.l air samplin. pump was used to determin. VOC con.en.ration., organ.c solven.s, an. in.ividual air n.phtha respectively. The risk ratin. of n.phtha was estimated to be 5. The mean.VOC con.en.ration.was in.the ran.e of 2.43 to 92.93 ppm. Repair area had the highest VOC con.en.ration.while the lowest was in.the mouldin. area. Each work station.had sign.fican. differen.es for VOC con.en.ration. （p 〈 0.001）. Laboratory an.lysis foun. various solven.s in.ludin. 2-methyl pen.an., hexan., methyl cyclopen.an., heptan., cyclohexan. an. toluen. which were presen. in.the liquid n.phtha. On.y xylen. has been.detected in.the makin. an. mouldin. areas with a ran.e of 2 to 5 ppm. Mean.hile, the air n.phtha con.en.ration. of the exposed workers were sign.fican.ly higher than.those un.xposed. The risk of n.phtha exposure was qualitatively sign.fican. an. n.t adequately con.rolled. n.phtha was detected in.all work station. sin.e it is the main.solven. used. The ＂Repair Area＂ was sign.fican.ly more con.amin.ted than.the other area.
