Backgroun. Con.en.tal lon. QT syn.rom. （LQTS） is an.in.erited ion.chan.el disorder resultin. in.abn.rm.l cardiac repolarization.that can.cause syn.ope an. sudden.death associated w.th a prolon.ed rate-corrected QT in.erval an. polym.rphic ven.ricular tachycardia. Several studies in.adults show.d that LQTS patien.s have altered QT adaptation.to heart rate chan.es com.ared w.th n.rm.l subjects w.ich form.n. a ＂hysteresis loop＂ in.the QT-circle len.th plot. This study w.s to observe the QT in.erval chan.in. durin. exercise testin. in.children.lon. QT syn.rom. （LQTS） patien.s, explore the n.w.diagn.sis m.thods of LQTS. m.thods The subjects w.re divided in.o 3 groups accordin. to 1993 LQTS diagn.stic criteria. Group 1： LQTS group （n.17） w.o scored 〉 or = 4 poin.s in.icatin. defin.te LQTS. Group 2： m.ddle group （n.16）, patien.s w.o have prolon.ed QT in.erval but scored 1.5 to 3.5. Group 3： n.rm.l con.rol group （n.18）. The average age of all study population.is （12.3±5.8） years. n. case had beta-adren.rgic an.agon.sts adm.n.stration.before exercise testin.. All subjects w.re un.erw.n. tread m.ll exercise testin. an. electrocardiograph in.w.ole exercise testin. an. recovery w.re recorded. QT an. heart rate chan.in. durin. w.ole exercise testin. period w.re recorded. /kQT, the QT in.erval at 1, 2, 4, 6 m.n.tes in.o recovery subtract from.the QT in.erval at a sim.lar heart rate durin. exercise, w.re calculated. Results In.all three groups, QT in.ervals w.re shorten.n. w.th the in.reasin. of heart rate, but QTc had n. sign.fican. chan.e. ΔQT at 1 m.n.te （（45±11） m.）, 2 m.n.tes （（37±15） m.）, 4 m.n.tes （（23±12） m.） in.o recovery in.LQTS group w.re sign.fican.ly greater than.that of the other tw. groups （P〈0.05, P〈0.01, P〈0.01, respectively）. (IBS) sym.tom. an. quality of life (QoL). m.THODSParticipan.s w.th IBS (Rom. III) w.re ran.om.zed to tw. groups. Group I com.en.ed a low.FODm.P diet at baselin.. At three m.n.hs, group II, so far a com.arator group, crossed over to a low.FODm.P diet w.ile group I started re-challen.in. foods. All patien.s com.leted the IBS SSS (IBS sym.tom.severity scorin. system. 0-500 poin.s in.reasin. w.th severity), IBS QoL question.aire (0-100 in.reasin. w.th QoL), a FODm.P specific food frequen.y question.aire an. provided a stool sam.le at baselin., three an. six m.n.hs for m.crobiom. an.lysis. RESULTSFifty participan.s w.re en.olled in.o group I (n.= 23) or group II (n.= 27). Participan.s in.both groups w.re sim.lar in.baselin. values but w.th m.re m.n.in.group I. There w.s a sign.fican.ly low.r IBS SSS (275.6 ± 63.6 to 128.8 ± 82.5 vs 246.8 ± 71.1 to 203.6 ± 70.1) (P n. in.reased QoL (68.5 ± 18.0 to 83 ± 13.4 vs 72.9 ± 12.8 to 73.3 ± 14.4) (P n.group I vs group II at 3 m.. The reduced IBS SSS w.s sustain.d at 6 m. in.group I (160 ± 102) an. replicated in.group II (124 ± 76). Fiber in.ake decreased on.the low.FODm.P diet (33 ± 17 g/d to 21 ± 8 g/d) (P n. after re-in.roducin. FODm.P con.ain.n. foods in.reased again.to 27 ± 9 g/d.
