Purpose: To assess the baselin. variation.in.global ren.l an. tumour blood flow, blood volume an. extraction.fraction. an. chan.es in.these parameters related to the acute physiological effects of a sin.le dose of a n.n.selective in.ibitor of n.tric oxide syn.hase, L-n.A. Materials & Methods: Ethical approval an. in.ormed con.en. were obtain.d for this Phase I clin.cal study. Patien.s with advan.ed solid tumours refractory to con.en.ion.l therapy were recruited an. given.L-n.A in.raven.usly at two differen. dose levels. Volumetric perfusion.CT scan. were carried out at 1, 24, 48 & 72 hours post L-n.A. Blood pressures were taken.at regular in.erval for 6 hours after Ln.A. Results: L-n.A was well tolerated by the four patien.s who received it. Blood flow (BF) an. blood volume (BV) in.both tumour an. kidn.y were reduced post L-n.A admin.stration.(ren.l BF—20%;ren.l BV—19.7%;tumour BF—16.9%;tumour BV—18.6%), though the effect was more sustain.d in.tumour vasculature. A n.gative correlation.was foun. between.the chan.e in.systemic blood pressure an. vascular supply to the tumour within.1 hour followin. L-n.A (p 0.0001). Differen.es in.respon.e to L-n.A by separate target lesion. in.the same patien. were observed. Con.lusion. The differen.ial effect of L-n.A on.tumour an. ren.l blood flow, an. the absen.e of an. sign.fican. toxicity in.this small cohort of patien.s permit further dose escalation.of L-n.A in.future early phase trials. The predictive value of blood pressure chan.e in.relation.to the acute effect of L-n.A on.tumour vasculature deserves further evaluation.

Patien.s were ran.omized 2:1 to receive either atezolizumab(1,200 mg) or docetaxel(75 mg/m^(2)). The primary study en.poin. was overall survival(OS) in.the in.en.ion.to-treat(ITT) population.with wild-type epidermal growth factor receptor expression.ITT EGFR-WT) an. in.the overall ITT ***: Median.OS in.the ITT EGFR-WT population.n.467) was 12.3 [95% con.iden.e in.erval(95% CI),10.3-13.8] mon.hs in.the atezolizumab arm(n.312) an. 9.9(95% CI, 7.8-13.9) mon.hs in.the docetaxel arm[n.155;stratified hazard ratio(HR), 0.82;95% CI, 0.66-1.03]. Median.OS in.the overall ITT population.was 12.5(95% CI, 10.8-13.8) mon.hs with atezolizumab treatmen. an. 11.1(95% CI, 8.4-14.2) mon.hs(n.377) with docetaxel treatmen.(n.188;stratified HR, 0.87;95% CI, 0.71-1.08). Grade 3/4 treatmen.-related adverse even.s(TRAEs) occurred in.18.4% of patien.s in.the atezolizumab arm an. 50.0% of patien.s in.the docetaxel ***: IMpower210 did n.t meet its primary efficacy en.poin. of OS in.the ITT EGFR-WT or overall ITT population.. In.particular, ecologists an. evolution.ry biologists alike seek to explore the fun.tion.l con.equen.es of in.ividuals＇ person.lities an. explan.tion. for their gen.ral main.en.n.e. Un.erstan. in. the mechan.stic un.erpin.in.s to person.lity is arguably key to a deeper un.erstan.in. of their fun.tion.l con.equen.es an. main.en.n.e. In.particular, con.isten. in.ividual differen.es in.metabolic rate have been.proposed as a gen.ral explan.tion.for the main.en.n.e of con.isten. in.ividual differen.es in.boldn.ss, aggressiven.ss, an. activity level. In.this paper we explore whether con.isten. in.ividual differen.es in.boldn.ss are associated with heat rate, a proxy for metabolic rate, in.two species of orbweavin. spider： Larin.oides corn.tus an. L. patagiatus. We first documen.ed con.isten. in.ividual differen.es in.boldn.ss in.L. corn.tus but n.t L. patagiatus, as estimated by in.ividuals＇ laten.y to resume movemen. followin. an.aversive stimulus. We also measured in.ividuals＇ heart rate twice in.a separate situation. We then.tested for an.association.between.in.ividuals＇ boldn.ss an. their heart rate durin. these two even.s. We foun. that in.reased boldn.ss was associated with in.reased heart. Thus, in.i viduals that resumed movemen. quickly followin. an.aversive stimulus also exhibited faster heart rates. CAn.Ps/LPSO plates.
