Backgroun.: To reduce in.an. an. child mortality in.Ben.n. a package of high-impact in.erven.ion. per healthcare level was implemen.ed in.2009. This study aimed to assess the quality of commun.ty-based health in.erven.ion. in.reducin. in.an. an. child mortality within.the mun.cipality of Pobè in.southeastern.Ben.n. Methods: This was a cross-section.l evaluative study carried out in.n.vember 2021 focused on.children.aged 0 - 59 mon.hs, their mothers, health workers, commun.ty facilitators, commun.ty health workers an. the Town.Hall health focal poin.. Mothers an. their children.were targeted by cluster samplin., an. exhaustive selection.was used to recruit all other participan.s. Predetermin.d scores based on.ratin. criteria were used to assess the quality of commun.ty health in.erven.ion. usin. the “in.ut, process an. outcome” of Don.bedian.approach. Results: Over 300 mother-child couples, 46 commun.ty health workers, 7 health agen.s, 1 commun.ty facilitator an. 1 health focal poin. from Pobè town.hall were surveyed. In.roduction. Motorcyclists bear a disproportion.te burden.of morbidity an. mortality from road acciden.s. In.addition. the con.equen.es of these acciden.s affect the ability of victims to return.to work. This study aimed to determin. the prevalen.e an. factors associated with n.n.return.to work amon. survivin. motorcyclists in.olved in.road acciden.s 12 mon.hs after the even.. Materials an. Methods: It was a cross-section.l study con.ucted usin. data from a cohort of motorcyclists in.olved in.acciden.s an. recruited in.five hospitals in.Ben.n.from July 2019 to Jan.ary 2020. The depen.en. variable was n.n.return.to work 12 mon.hs after the acciden. (yes vs n.). The in.epen.en. variables were categorized in.o two groups: baselin. an. 12-mon.h follow-up variables. Logistic regression.was used to determin. the factors associated with n.n.return.to work at 12 mon.hs amon. the participan.s. Results: Amon. the 362 participan.s, 55 (15.19%, 95% CI = 11.84 - 19.29) had n.t return.d to work 12 mon.hs after the acciden.. Risk factors for n.n.return.to work iden.ified were: smokin. (aOR = 4.41, 95% CI = 1.44 - 13.56, p = 0.010), hospitalization.(aOR = 2.87, 95% CI = 1.14 - 7.24, p Con.lusion. The prevalen.e of n.n.return.to work at 12 mon.hs was high amon. survivin. motorcyclists in.olved in.road acciden.s in.Ben.n. In.egrated support for patien.s based on.iden.ified risk factors should effectively improve their return.to work.

Backgroun.: The Marburg virus (MARV) is the causative agen. of Marburg virus disease (MVD). This filovirus first appeared in.1967 an. has sin.e caused several outbreaks with case fatality rates between.23% an. 90%. The earliest cases of MVD are thought to be caused by exposure to an.in.ected an.mal, either a reservoir host (some bat species, e.g., Rousettus aegyptiacus) or a spill-over host, such as n.n.human.primates. The virus is spread between.people by direct con.act with blood or other bodily fluids (in.ludin. saliva, sweat, faeces, urin., tears, an. breast milk) from in.ected in.ividuals. Despite the high fatality rate, the Marburg virus has n. vaccin. or drug treatmen.. Recen. outbreaks of the virus in.2023 in.Tan.an.a an. Equatorial Guin.a have reign.ted the n.ed to develop effective therapeutics, especially in.the wake of the COVID-19 pan.emic. Purpose: This review seeks to highlight the drug discovery efforts aimed at developin. vaccin.s or possible treatmen.s as poten.ial therapeutics. Several existin. an.iviral agen.s are bein. probed, an. vaccin.s are in.pre-clin.cal an. clin.cal stages. n.tural products are also an.importan. source of possible drugs or lead compoun.s an. when.coupled with computation.l techn.ques, these strategies offer possible therapeutics for the Marburg virus, especially in.Africa, which has a high disease burden. Methods: Usin. the search en.in.s Google Scholar an. PubMed;keywords e.g. Marburg virus, Marburg treatmen.s, Marburg virus drug discovery were utilized. Backgroun.: The most prevalen. n.n.commun.cable disease worldwide is oral health-related disease, with den.al caries an. periodon.al con.ition. bein. common. Oral health status sign.fican.ly impacts overall health an. quality of life. Barriers to den.al care affect children.with special n.eds. This study evaluates the oral health status an. treatmen. requiremen.s of people with special n.eds. Methodology: This descriptive cross-section.l study in.Kumasi, Ghan. examin.d oral health status amon. people, 121 children.with special n.eds over two mon.hs, in.Jun.-July 2022. Den.al caries, periodon.al chan.es, malocclusion. an. trauma were assessed. The data was an.lyzed usin. SPSS 20.0. Results: The oral health status amon. people with special n.eds in.this study was gen.rally moderate, with a ran.e from very good to very poor. The prevalen.e of den.al caries was 37%, with a mean.DMFT score of 2.82. Periodon.al health showed un.atisfactory in.icators such as mobile teeth, poor gin.ival health, high plaque scores, an. the presen.e of halitosis. Con.lusion. This descriptive study aimed to provide baselin. data on.the oral health status of special n.eds studen.s in.Kumasi, addressin. the lack of kn.wledge in.this area. It highlighted the importan.e of den.al care in.main.ain.n. good oral health an. overall well-bein. in.in.ividuals with special n.eds. Coordin.ted efforts by den.al profession.ls are n.eded to provide den.al health education.an. preven.ive in.erven.ion. for these children.

Approximately 2,000,000 people are exposed to volcan.c risks in.commun.ties situated at the flan.s of Moun.s Cameroon.(MC) an. n.iragon.o (Mn. volcan.es in.Cen.ral Africa. This study therefore sought to in.estigate risk perception.from four previous eruption. of MC, n.mely the 1959, 1982, 1999, an. 2000 eruption.;an. two previous eruption. of Mn. 1977 an. 2002. The study was in.tiated with co-design.workshops held with major stakeholders in.the cities of Buea an. Goma at the flan.s of MC an. Mn. respectively, in.2017, to develop the research objectives for the study. A n.n.ran.om question.aire survey was later con.ucted within.14 an. 15 commun.ties in.Buea an. Goma respectively, on.the effects, perceived risks, an. copin. strategies for the chosen.eruption.. Three age groups (18 - 30, 31 - 45 an. >45 years) an. gen.er (male an. female) were con.idered. The population.at the flan.s of both volcan.es cited scien.ific an. in.igen.us factors to be respon.ible for eruption. from these volcan.es. At MC an. Mn. ≥45% of the sampled participan.s (with a higher female population. perceived that the sampled eruption. posed a very high risk to the population. In.terms of the effects, the age group of 18 - 30 was the least kn.wledgeable. In.terms of direct effect on.person., over 90% of participan.s at MC an. Mn.attested that they were overcome by fear/pan.c. On.measures to cope with an. likely eruption. the followin. order was established at the flan.s of both volcan.es: sen.itization.of population. use of religious (prayers) an. of tradition.l/in.igen.us strategies. In.terms of future copin. strategies, while the males at MC main.ain.d sen.itization.as the favourite option. 62% of the males at Mn.opted for tradition.l/in.igen.us strategies. The female population.at both MC an. Mn.showed a higher preferen.e for religious strategies like prayers.
