Background and Objectives:Current preoperative n staging do not offer an accurate estimation of lymph node *** establish a new scoring system for predicting n stages to guide a rational lymphadenectomy for gastric cancer. Methods:Variables correlated with n stages were selected by multivariate stepwise logistic regression *** granted the different scores according to the odds ratio(OR.).Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was used to generate scoring ranges from nO to *** agreement between predicted n staging and actual pn classification was analyzed using kappa statistics. Results:Tumor size,depth of invasion,and histological types were selected to establish the scoring *** 0-4,5-7,8-9,and 10-13 were postulated to predict n0-3, *** predicted n stage has good agreement with the actual pn *** negative predictive values for n0-3 were 87.0,86.4,90.4,and 90.2%;the positive predictive values were 74.7, 62.8,57.3,and 69.6%,*** accuracy is 82% for nO-1,and 83.7% for n2-3. Conclusions:The new scoring system can predict the n stage of gastric *** its good negative predictive value,it is possible to minimize the potential hazards of applying a more extensive lymph node dissection than necessary.

OBJECTIVE： To evaluate in vitro antibacterial effectiveness of five medicinal plants used by an Indian aborigine, against 8 multidrug-resistant （MDR） enteropathogenic bacteria isolated from clinical samples of under-5 hospitalized children. METHODS： Antibiotic sensitivity patterns of eight clinically isolated strains of enteropathogenic bacteria, Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella paratyphi, S. typhi, Shigella dysenteriae, S. sonnei and Vibrio cholerae were assessed by disc-diffusion method. Antibacterial activities of 8 solvent-extracts of leaves and bark of five medicinal plants were monitored by the agar-well diffusion method. The microbroth dilution method was used to assess minimum inhibitory concentration （MIC） and minimum bactericidal concentration （MBC）. Qualitative phytochemical analyses of active plant extracts were carried out. RESULTS： Ethanol, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of Holarrhena antidysenterica leaf tissue were most effective against 8 MDR pathogens in vitro. Similarly, acetone, ethanol and methanol extracts of Terminalia alata leaf tissue; chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of Terminalia aquna leaf tissue and ethyl acetate, ethanol and methanol extracts of Paederia foetida leaf tissue were most effective in inhibiting in vitro growth of the 8 MDR enteropathogens. Ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of H. antidysenterica bark tissue; acetone, ethanol and methanol extracts of T. alata bark tissue and acetone, ethanol and methanol extracts of T. arjuna bark tissue were most effective in controlling enteropathogen growth. The minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration values of the 3 most antimicrobial leaf and bark extracts from the five plants were in the range of 1.56 to 50 mg/mL. COnCLUSIOn： These 5 plants exhibited in vitro control over a cohort of 8 enteropathogenic bacteria strains isolated from clinical samples.

Six different solutions of 6M naOH, containing different amounts of na2CO3 at 70℃ were used for the revelation of latent damage trails in CR-39 plastic track detectors. These detectors were earlier exposed to fission fragments from ^252 Cf source for 30 min in vacuum and were then etched in the respective solutions for different etching time intervals of 5-20 min starting from 5min up to 160min. The etch induction time in each detector was obtained by extrapolating the intersection of resulting curves of track lengths and track diameters with the time axis.

Facing the lateral vibration problem of a machine rotor as a beam on elastic supports in bending,the authors deal with the free vibration of elastically restrained Bernoulli-Euler beams carrying a finite number of concentrated elements along their *** on Rayleigh’s quotient,an iterative strategy is developed to find the approximated torsional stiffness coefficients,which allows the reconciliation between the theoretical model results and the experimental ones,obtained through impact *** mentioned algorithm treats the vibration of continuous beams under a determined set of boundary and continuity conditions, including different torsional stiffness coefficients and the effect of attached concentrated masses and rotational inertias, not only in the energetic terms of the Rayleigh’s quotient but also on the mode shapes,considering the shape functions defined in *** loading cases are examined and examples are given to illustrate the validity of the model and accuracy of the obtained natural frequencies.

nanostructured Mg–ni alloy with the particle size in the range of 40–50 nm was synthesized by the thermal decomposition of bipyridyl complexes of Mg and ni metals at 773 K for 24 h under dry argon gas ambient. The as-prepared nano-alloy was characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM） for compositional and structural analysis. The alloy exhibited superior hydrogen absorption and desorption behavior with 3.2 wt% absorption within 1 min at 573 K and about 3 wt% desorption within 5–10 min at 573 K. This favorable behavior of Mg–ni compound for the hydrogen storage is due to the specific nanostructure of the material. The low activation energy values and favorable thermodynamics indicate that the prepared Mg–ni alloy is an attracting material for hydrogen storage applications.
