Objective: To explore the protective effect of bloodletting acupuncture at twelve Jing-well points on hand(BAJP) on acute hypobaric hypoxia(AHH)-induced brain injury in rats and its possible ***: Seventy-five Sprague Dawley rats were divided into 5 groups by a random number table(n=15),including control, model, BAJP, BAJP+3-methyladenine(3-MA), and bloodletting acupuncture at non-acupoint(BAnA, tail tip blooding) groups. After 7-day pre-treatment, AHH models were established using hypobaric oxygen chambers. The levels of S100B, glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP), superoxide dismutase(SOD), and malondialdehyde(MDA) in serum were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Hematoxylin-eosin staining and the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling method were used to assess hippocampal histopathology and apoptosis. Transmission electron microscopy assay was used to observe mitochondrial damage and autophagosomes in hippocampal tissues. Flow cytometry was used to detect mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP). The mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes Ⅰ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ activities and ATPase in hippocampal tissue were evaluated, respectively. Western blot analysis was used to detect the protein expressions of Beclin1, autophagy protein 5(ATG5), microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 beta(LC3B), phosphatase and tensin homolog induced kinase 1(PInK1), and Parkin in hippocampal tissues. The mRnA expressions of Beclin1, ATG5 and LC3-Ⅱ were analyzed by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Results: BAJP treatment reduced hippocampal tissue injury and inhibited hippocampal cell apoptosis in AHH rats. BAJP reduced oxidative stress by decreasing S100B, GFAP and MDA levels and increasing SOD level in the serum of AHH rats(Pn, BAJP increased MMP, the mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes Ⅰ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ activities, and the mitochondrial ATPase activity in AHH rats(all P<0.01). Carcinogenic process has been proposed to relay on the capacity to induce local tissue damage and proliferative repair. Liver has a great regeneration capacity and currently, most studies point towards the dominant role of hepatocytes in regeneration at all levels of liver damage. The most frequent liver cancer is hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Historical findings originally led to the idea that the cell of origin of HCC might be a progenitor cell. However, current linage tracing studies put the progenitor hypothesis of HCC origin into question. In agreement with their dominant role in liver regeneration, mature hepatocytes are emerging as the cell of origin of HCC, although, the specific hepatocyte subpopulation of origin is yet to be determined. The relationship between the cancer cell of origin(CCO) and cancer-propagating cells, known as hepatic cancer stem cell(HCSC) is unknown. It has been challenging to identify the definitive phenotypic marker of HCSC, probably due to the existence of different cancer stem cells(CSC) subpopulations with different functions within HCC. There is a dynamic interconversion among different CSCs, and between CSC and non-CSCs. Because of that, CSC-state is currently defined as a description of a highly adaptable and dynamic intrinsic property of tumor cells, instead of a static subpopulation of a tumor. Altered conditions could trigger the gain of stemness, some of them include: EMT-MET, epigenetics, microenvironment and selective stimulus such as chemotherapy. This CSC heterogeneity and dynamism makes them out reach from therapeutic protocols directed to a single target. A further avenue of research in this line will be to uncover mechanisms that trigger this interconversion of cell populations within tumors and target it.

The formation and evolution of cosmic string wakes in the framework of a f(R) theory of gravity are investigated in this work. We consider a simple model in which baryonic matter flows past a cosmic string. We treat this problem in the Zel’dovich approximation. We compare our results with previous results obtained in the context of General Relativity and Scalar-Theories of Gravity.

目的观察“手十二井穴”放血预处理对大鼠急性低氧肺组织损伤模型血气相关指标、低氧诱导因子(HIF)-1α及血管内皮细胞生长因子(VEGF)表达的影响,探讨“手十二井穴”放血预处理对急性低氧肺组织损伤的影响。方法将72只雄性SD大鼠随机分为对照组8只、低氧(模型)组32只、井穴放血预处理(放血)组32只,模型组和放血组又分为6、24、48、72 h 4个时间段亚组,每组各8只。采用实验动物低氧模拟舱模拟15%O_(2)浓度,制备大鼠急性低氧肺组织损伤模型。放血组按“少商”“商阳”“中冲”“关冲”“少冲”“少泽”的顺序,每天1次,共5 d。用手持式血气分析仪检测肺动脉血气氧分压(PaO_(2))、血氧饱和度(saO_(2))、酸碱度(pH)、二氧化碳分压(PaCO_(2))等相关指标,采用Western印迹法检测HIF-1α表达,酶联免疫吸附试验(ELIsa)法检测VEGF含量。结果与对照组比较,模型组各时间段PaO_(2)、saO_(2)明显降低,HIF-1α和VEGF表达水平显著升高(PsaO_(2)均出现升高,PaO_(2)在6、48 h时有统计学意义,saO_(2)值在6、24、48 h时有统计学意义(PsaO_(2)(6、24 h)仍低于对照组,HIF-1α(6、48、72 h)和VEGF各时间段表达水平仍高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(Pn_(2))肺组织损伤模型的缺氧情况,其可能的作用与升高动脉血PaO_(2)、saO_(2)及下调HIF-1α表达、降低VEGF含量有关,从而有利于模型大鼠适应急性低氧环境。

Background Studies investigating health-related quality of life(HRQoL)in youth with perinatally acquired HIV(PHIV+)are *** study aimed to compare HRQoL of PHIV+to sociodemographic-matched youth not living with HIV(HIV-),Spanish general youth population,and to explore associations between sociodemographic variables,drug consumption,and *** PHIV+youth were randomly selected from CoRISpe database(Cohort of the Spanish Pediatric HIV network).HRQoL was evaluated by *** Thirty-nine PHIV+youth(mean age:23.36 years,SD=3.83)and thirty-nine HIV-youth(mean age:22.97 years,SD=3.80)participated in this ***+obtained lower scores in SF-12 physical health subscale(PCS)than HIV-(P=0.001)and Spanish general youth population(P=0.006).PHIV+had lower scores on the mental health subscale(MCS)than the Spanish general youth population(Pned better scores than those were not at ***+youth who had used cocaine and cannabis had lower scores in MCS(P=0.002).Conclusions There is a need for HRQoL management in the associated medical follow-up.

We reported here the first known case of natural infection of a lion(Panthera leo-Linnaeus,1738) with Leishmania(Leithmania) chagasi(***) in *** specimen was created by a circus handler in the state of Mato Grosso and was donated to the zoological park of the Federal University of Mato *** by *** was detected using a PCR-RFLP *** was known that the domestic felids can act as reservoir of infection of *** in endemic areas, making it important that studies demonstrate their participation in the epidemiological chain. We demonstrate in this work that wild animals can have an important role in the epidemiological chain and must be considered in order to plan methods of control of this zoonosis.

Aqueous biphasic systems(ABS)are promising for proteins purification;however,when dealing with samples comprising several proteins,the selectivity towards a target protein is difficult to *** this work,the addition of ionic liquids(ILs)as adjuvants(5 wt%and 10 wt%)in ABS composed of polyethylene glycol(PEG)and dextran was investigated to tailor proteins partitioning between the coexisting *** liquid-liquid phase diagrams were determined at 298 K,followed by partition studies of three proteins(bovine serum albumin(Bsa),immunoglobulin G(IgG),and cytochrome C(Cyt C)).Partition coefficients of IgG and Bsa indicate the preference of both proteins to the dextran-rich phase,whereas Cyt C has no preferential partitioning between the *** addition of chloride-based ILs as adjuvants allows to increase or decrease the partition coefficients,thus tailoring the proteins partitioning between the *** partitioning essentially depends on the IL content in each phase,whereas Cyt C and IgG partitioning is ruled by the ILs chemical structure and established *** docking was carried out to address the ILs effect on the proteins partitioning,supporting experimental observations,while identifying the specific interactions *** partition of each protein in polymer-salt ABS with ILs as adjuvants was determined,demonstrating the higher tailoring ability of polymer-polymer ABS when adding ***,the partition of each protein in presence of the remaining ones was determined,as well as the selectivity of the studied systems to separate each pair of proteins,paving the way for their use in liquidliquid chromatography.

BACKGROUnD Vaccine hesitancy is a major challenge in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)*** the sociodemographic factors associated with vaccine acceptance among nigerians is crucial for improving vaccine *** To assess the acceptance rate of COVID-19 vaccine and its related determinants among *** An online cross-sectional survey(observational study)was conducted between February 2021 and May 2021,using a questionnaire hosted on *** invitation to take part in the poll was sent out to participants through social networking platforms.A logistic regression was used to determine which sociodemographic factors were associated with vaccine acceptance *** A total of 1800 persons responded to the survey,a larger proportion of whom were males(53.9%)and within the age group of 21-30 years(29.4%)and earned an average income of less than$500 per month(43.3%).Only 0.56%of participants had a high perceived risk of COVID-19 infection,while only 1.11%had a perceived risk of dying from *** perception rate of the COVID-19 vaccine among participants was 51.1%,while the acceptance rate was 63.9%.There was no significant association between the COVID-19 vaccine acceptance rate and related determinants assessed,particularly age(χ²=3.049,P=0.550),sex(χ²=0.102,P=0.749),average income(χ²=3.802,P=0.875),and religion(χ²=2.819,P=0.420).Participants with chronic conditions demonstrated a higher acceptance rate compared to the general *** despite the positive perception observed and substantial vaccine acceptance rate among the study participants,more public health interventions are still needed to enhance vaccine acceptability in nigeria.

ABA triblock copolymers were synthesized by dihydroxyl-capped PEO initiated enzymatic ring-opening polymerization (eROP) of ε-CL in the presence of biocatalyst novozyme 435. The chains ended with hydroxyl of block copolymers were modified by the esterification of 2,2-dichloro acetyl chloride (DCAC) to obtain the tetrafunctional macroinitiator, which was used in the ATRP of 4-vinylpyridine (4-VP). CuCl/HMTETA was used as the catalyst system in the ATRP of 4-VP to acquire the H-shaped block copolymers (PVP)2-b-PCL-b-PEG-b-PCL-b-(PVP)2. The H-shaped block copolymers were characterized by FTIR, nMR, and GPC. Copolymers with high molecular weights (M n = 46121 g/mol) and low polydispersities (M w/M n = 1.30) were prepared. Moreover, the morphology of the copolymer was examined with dynamic light scattering (DLS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Spherical micelles with a diameter of 70 nm in aqueous solution were obtained.
