Germline genetics of high penetrance such as BRCA genes,mutations might be sufficient for carcinogenesis,but this only explains fewer than 10%of cancers.We assume that most cancers are the result of germline mutations of low to moderate penetrance,combined with acquired mutations due to external carcinogenic stressors.With their accumulation over time,aging is associated with an increased risk of multiple cancer development in a given individual.For decades,germline genetics have been based on familial linkage studies enabling most high-penetrance genes to be identified.more recently,population-wide studies have led to the identification of considerable numbers of polymorphisms associated with cancer risk.However,most of them are of unknown functional value,thus limiting their translational application.

Erosion as a natural process produces soils, which are very important natural resources for the fest land plant- and animal kingdoms. Loss of the soil cover reduces agricultural production, biodiversity, and the role of soil as a filter for infiltrating water to replenish the groundwater. It also threatens the food supplies. The knowledge of erosion rates of rocks and terrains is important for developing proactive measures to protect soils from erosion and loss. In this study, erosion rates of catchment areas were calculated based on dams’ catchment extensions and the sediment loads transported by flood flows into dams’ lakes. The study results show that the chemically, via floodwater, transported quantities of materials are negligible compared to the solid materials transported by the water. It calculates erosion rates ranging from 0.013 to 0.212 mm/yr (13 - 212 m/106 yr) for the different catchment areas. Erosion rates in Jordan are, generally, higher than those calculated for the different parts of the world ranging from 2.5 to 60 m/106 yr. This fact can be explained by the very steep topography, calcareous rock cover of the catchment areas and the barren rock exposures.

IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi networks are prone to many denial of service(DoS)attacks due to vulnerabilities at the media access control(mAC)layer of the 802.11 protocol.Due to the data transmission nature of the wireless local area network(WLAN)through radio waves,its communication is exposed to the possibility of being attacked by illegitimate users.moreover,the security design of the wireless structure is vulnerable to versatile attacks.For example,the attacker can imitate genuine features,rendering classificationbased methods inaccurate in differentiating between real and false messages.Althoughmany security standards have been proposed over the last decades to overcome many wireless network attacks,effectively detecting such attacks is crucial in today’s real-world applications.This paper presents a novel resource exhaustion attack detection scheme(READS)to detect resource exhaustion attacks effectively.The proposed scheme can differentiate between the genuine and fake management frames in the early stages of the attack such that access points can effectively mitigate the consequences of the attack.The scheme is built through learning from clustered samples using artificial neural networks to identify the genuine and rogue resource exhaustion management frames effectively and efficiently in theWLAN.The proposed scheme consists of four modules whichmake it capable to alleviates the attack impact more effectively than the related work.The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed technique by gaining an 89.11%improvement compared to the existing works in terms of detection.

Receiving antenatal care via mobile clinic: Lived experiences of Jordanian mothers

Objective To understand the perceptions of pregnant Jordanian women who received antenatal care via mobile clinic,and to contribute new insights into the experiences of these mothers and how they evaluated the services that were available.methods Ten Jordanian mothers who had received antenatal care at a mobile clinic discussed their experiences in semi-structured,audiotaped interviews in a study that adopted a qualitative research design.The analysis was done using interpretative phenomenological analysis.Results Three main themes were identified:Being informed about the medical campaign or missing the opportunity of being informed;The experience of receiving antenatal care was wonderful,although there was only one thing lacking;and they safeguard our life and take any opportunity to educate us.Conclusion Data indicate that the mothers were largely satisfied with most facets of the antenatal care services they had received at the mobile clinics.However,while services are generally well received,there are clear opportunities for ameliorating the quality of services provided.For mothers living in remote,deprived areas,outreach is not just an‘optional extra’but rather an essential service.

Soil erosion is a threat to the water quality constituents of sediments and nutrients and can cause long-term environmental damages.One important parameter to quantify the risk of soil loss from erosion is the crop and cover management factor(C-factor),which represents how cropping and management practices affect the rates and potential risk of soil erosion.We developed remotely sensed data-driven models for dynamic predictions of C-factor by implementing dynamic land cover modeling using the SWAT(Soil and Water Assessment Tool)model on a watershed scale.The remotely sensed processed variables included the enhanced vegetation index(EVI),the fraction of photosynthetically active radiation absorbed by green vegetation(FPAR),leaf area index(LAI),soil available water content(AWC),slope gradient(SG),and ratio of area(AR)of every hydrologic response unit(HRU)to that of the total watershed,comprising unique land cover,soil type,and slope gradient characteristics within the Fish River catchment in Alabama,USA between 2001 and 2014.Linear regressions,spatial trend analysis,correlation matrices,forward stepwise multivariable regression(FSmR),and 2-fold cross-validation were conducted to evaluate whether there were possible associations between the C-factor and EVI with the successive addition of remotely sensed environmental factors.Based on the data analysis and modeling,we found a significant association between the C-factor and EVI with the synergy of the environmental factors FPAR,LAI,AWC,AR,and SG(predicted R^(2)(R^(2)_(pred))=0.51;R^(2)=0.68,n=3220,PmR model constituting the non-conventional factors AWC(R^(2)_(pred)=0.32;R^(2)=0.48,n=3220,Pmproved fit for the watershed C-factor.In conclusion,the union of dynamic variables related to vegetation(EVI,FPAR,and LAI),soil(AWC),and topography(AR and SG)can be utilized for spatiotemporal C-factor estimation and to monitor watershed erosion.

Visible light communication(VLC),which is a prominent emerging solution that complements the radio frequency(RF)technology,exhibits the potential to meet the demands of fifth-generation(5G)and beyond technologies.The random movement of mobile terminals in the indoor environment is a challenge in the VLC system.The model of optical attocells has a critical role in the uniform distribution and the quality of communication links in terms of received power and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).As such,the optical attocells positions were optimized in this study with a developed try and error(TE)algorithm.The optimized optical attocells were examined and compared with previous models.This novel approach had successfully increased minimum received power from−1.29 to−0.225 dBm,along with enhanced SNR performance by 2.06 dB.The bit error rate(BER)was reduced to 4.42×10−8 and 6.63×10−14 by utilizing OOK-NRZ and BPSK modulation techniques,respectively.The optimized attocells positions displayed better uniform distribution,as both received power and SNR performances improved by 0.45 and 0.026,respectively.As the results of the proposed model are optimal,it is suitable for standard office and room model applications.

Visible light communication(VLC)has a paramount role in industrial implementations,especially for better energy efficiency,high speed-data rates,and low susceptibility to interference.However,since studies on VLC for industrial implementations are in scarcity,areas concerning illumination optimisation and communication performances demand further investigation.As such,this paper presents a new modelling of light fixture distribution for a warehouse model to provide acceptable illumination and communication performances.The proposed model was evaluated based on various semi-angles at half power(SAAHP)and different height levels for several parameters,including received power,signal to noise ratio(SNR),and bit error rate(BER).The results revealed improvement in terms of received power and SNR with 30 mbps data rate.Various modulations were studied to improve the link quality,whereby better average BER values of 5.55×10^(−15) and 1.06×10^(−10) had been achieved with 4 PAm and 8 PPm,respectively.The simulation outcomes are indeed viable for the practical warehouse model.

With the emergence of the COVID19 virus in late 2019 and the declaration that the virus is a worldwide pandemic,health organizations and governments have begun to implement severe health precautions to reduce the spread of the virus and preserve human lives.The enforcement of social distancing at work environments and public areas is one of these obligatory precautions.Crowd management is one of the effective measures for social distancing.By reducing the social contacts of individuals,the spread of the disease will be immensely reduced.In this paper,a model for crowd counting in public places of high and low densities is proposed.The model works under various scene conditions and with no prior knowledge.A Deep CNN model(DCNN)is built based on convolutional neural network(CNN)structure with small kernel size and two fronts.To increase the efficiency of the model,a convolutional neural network(CNN)as the front-end and a multi-column layer with Dilated Convolution as the back-end were chosen.Also,the proposed method accepts images of arbitrary sizes/scales as inputs from different cameras.To evaluate the proposed model,a dataset was created from images of Saudi people with traditional and non-traditional Saudi outfits.The model was also trained and tested on some existing datasets.Compared to current counting methods,the results show that the proposed model has significantly improved efficiency and reduced the error rate.We achieve the lowest mAE by 67%,32%.and 15.63%and lowest mSE by around 47%,15%and 8.1%than m-CNN,Cascaded-mTL,and CSRNet respectively.
