In this work, an experimental study combined with numerical simulation was conducted to investigate the potential of chemically enhanced water alternating gas （CWAG） injection as a new enhanced oil recovery method. The unique feature of this new method is that it uses alkaline, surfactant, and polymer additives as a chemical slug which is injected during the water alternating gas （WAG） process to reduce the interfacial tension （IFT） and simultaneously improve the mobility ratio. In essence, the proposed CWAG process involves a combination of chemical flooding and immiscible carbon dioxide （CO2） injection and helps in IFT reduction, water blocking reduction, mobility control, oil swelling, and oil viscosity reduction due to CO2 dissolution. Its performance was compared with the conventional immiscible water alter- nating gas （I-WAG） flooding. Oil recovery utilizing CWAG was better by 26 % of the remaining oil in place after waterflooding compared to the recovery using WAG conducted under similar conditions. The coreflood data （cumulative oil and water production） were history mat- ched via a commercial simulator by adjusting the relative permeability curves and assigning the values of the rock and fluid properties such as porosity, permeability, and the experimentally determined IFT data. History matching ofthe coreflood model helped us optimize the experiments and was useful in determining the importance of the parameters influencing sweep efficiency in the CWAG process. The effectiveness of the CWAG process in pro- viding enhancement of displacement efficiency is evident in the oil recovery and pressure response observed in the coreflood. The results of sensitivity analysis on CWAG slug patterns show that the alkaline-surfactant-polymer injection is more beneficial after CO2 slug injection due to oil swelling and viscosity reduction. BACKGROUND: Gastrin has a cholecystokinetic action on gallbladder motility, and cholecystokinin and gastrin act directly on the smooth muscle of the gallbladder. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of endogenous hypergastrinemia on gallbladder motility in patients with autoimmune gastritis. METHODS: Forty-one patients (29 females, 12 males; mean age, 46 years) with autoimmune gastritis and 29 healthy subjects (17 females, 12 males; mean age, 44.8 years) were enrolled in the study. Fasting and postprandial gallbladder volumes were measured ultrasonographically with the ellipsoid technique and the ejection fraction of the gallbladder was calculated from fasting and postprandial volumes. All subjects were investigated after 12 hours of fasting and 30 minutes after a standard test meal. RESULTS: The gallbladder ejection fraction (%) of the patients with autoimmune gastritis was lower than that of the control group (46.06±18.28% vs 55.03±14.67%, P=0.032). There was no difference between patients with autoimmune gastritis and the control group in terms of the mean fasting gallbladder volume (30.38±12.85 vs 29.27±9.91 cm 3 , P=0.189) and the mean postprandial gallbladder volume (15.67±8.32 vs 13.44±7.69 cm 3 , P=0.258). Logistic regression analysis of baseline parameters revealed that 'abdominal bloating' was a risk factor for the low gallbladder ejection fraction in autoimmune gastritis patients (P=0.045, F=4.40). In addition, logistic regression analysis of baseline parameters revealed that smoking (n=5, P=0.025, F=5.44) is a predictor of low gallbladder ejection fraction in patients with autoimmune ***: Patients with endogenous hypergastrinemia have a low gallbladder ejection fraction compared with healthy controls. This study shows that at least part of upper gastrointestinal symptoms observed in this patient population may be due to altered gallbladder motility.

TiO2-SiO2 composite films were produced on commercially pure titanium （CP-Ti） substrate by a sol-gel method to in- vestigate the behavior of sol aging time and its potential effects on the structural and electrochemical properties of composite coatings. Anatase-TiO2 and quartz-SiO2 peaks were observed on all composite coated samples according to XRD results. It was observed that the average grain size increased with sol aging time. Also, the average smallest grain size was seen at composite coatings prepared from unaged sol according to the width of the peaks. Electrochemical behavior of coated samples was mainly investigated by potentiodynamic polarization and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy （EIS） in Simulated Body Fluid （SBF） solution. In corrosion tests, the composite coatings showed better anti-corrosion behavior than that of uncoated samples. In addition, the corrosion properties of the composite films were considerably affected by sol aging time. Corrosion resistance of coatings decreased with increasing aging time and the best result was obtained from composite coatings prepared from unaged sol.

The isomeric structures of（E）-1-[4-（2-hydroxy-5-methoxybenzylideneamino）-phenyl] ethanone（I） and（E）-1-[4-（2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzylideneamino） phenyl]ethanone（Ⅱ） ,both C16H15NO3,have been determined using X-ray diffraction techniques and characterized by IR,and their molecular structures have also been optimized at the B3LYP/6-31G（d,p） level using density functional theory（DFT） . The energetic behaviors of the title compounds in solvent media have been examined using B3LYP method with the 6-31G（d,p） basis set by applying the polarizable continuum model（PCM） . The total energies of the title compounds decrease with the increasing polarity of the solvent. In addition,DFT calculations of the title compounds＇ molecular electrostatic potentials（MEP） were performed at the B3LYP/6-31G（d,p） level of theory. X-ray study shows that the title compounds both have strong intramolecular O-H…N hydrogen bonds. The molecules of Ⅰ are linked into a one-dimensional framework structure by C-H…π interactions,while in Ⅱ,intermolecular π···π interactions result in the formation of infinite chains running along the [010].

Takotsubo syndrome(TTS)is a rare clinical entity commonly seen in post-menopausal women after an emotional or sometimes physical stress.[1,2]This syndrome is thought to be caused by increased circulation catecholamine levels secondary to an adrenergic stimulus resulting in transient coronary spasm and microvascular dysfunction.[3]TTS is characterized by acute and reversible left ventricular dysfunction with the typical ECG and clinical findings of an acute coronary syndrome but no significant coronary stenosis.[4]Typically,in TTS,antero-apical ballooning is observed in ventriculography,and segmentary wall motion abnormalities are observed in magnetic resonance imaging and *** heart failure,left ventricular outflow tract obstruction,mitral regurgitation and cardiogenic shock may complicate this syndrome.[5]Herein,we present a case who is the oldest one in the literature with TTS and cardiogenic shock.

Purpose: MCF-7 (ER+, WTP53) and MDA-MB-231 (ER Met, Mutant P53) Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester (CAPE) and DNA Methyl Transferase Inhibitor (DNMTi) in breast cancer cell lines of Zebularine (ZEB) single and combined application of TP53, caspase-9, caspase 8 and caspase-3 genes as a result of the use of single and combined drug methylation profiles are aimed to be evaluated by specific PCR method. Material-Metods: In the MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell lines, MTT test and survival analysis were performed as a result of single and combined application of CAPE and Zebularine and Methylation Specific PCR was performed to examine the methylation of caspase-3, caspase-8, caspase-9 and TP53 genes. Results: According to the results of 24-hour drug administration, the IC50 for the MCF-7 cell line was determined as 200 μM, for CAPE 40 μM and for the combined values of 50 μM ZEB + 5 μM CAPE. The effects of caspase-3, caspase-8, caspase-9 and TP53 genes on the methylation level of ZEB, CAPE and ZEB + CAPE drug combination were determined by using bisulfite modified DNAs in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cell lines. Discussion: In the MCF-7 cell line, the 120 μM ZEB viability rate was 51%, and the viability of 80 μM ZEB MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells decreased by 59.7%. After 20 μM CAPE, viability in MCF-7 cells decreased by 31% in 120 μM CAPE and MDA-MB-231 cells decreased by 41%. The viability with 40 μM CAPE decreased by 19% in MDA-MB-231 cells. It was found that 20 μM CAPE concentration was associated with TP53 methylation in MCF-7 cell lines. The 80 μM ZEB concentration was found to be closely related to the unmethylated status of the TP53 gene. These results obtained with 50 μM ZEB + 5 μM CAPE application were found to be related to the methylated-unmetylated status of the TP53 gene in half (50%). For the caspase-9 gene of MDA-MB-231 cells, 80 μM ZEB concentration was found to be associated with unmetylated status. The effective use of drugs with low concentrations of the drug

Background: Endovenous laser ablation is a relatively newer alternative to treat great saphenous vein insufficiency. We evaluated the efficiency and safety of treatment endovenous laser procedures on the different saphenous vein diameters with different energy levels. Methods: Data regarding endovenous laser ablation of symptomatic chronic great saphenous venous insufficiency in 209 patients were prospectively recorded. Patients were grouped into two main groups based on their diameters as 5 to 7 millimeters (Group A) or more than 7 millimeters (Group B). Patients in each group was randomized into two groups as >90 J/cm (A1 and B1) or 80-90 J/cm (A2 and B2). Postoperative outcome and complications were recorded during follow-ups at 1st week;1st, 3rd and 6th months to examine the venous reflux and recanalization. Results: Perioperative complaints as pain, cramps and ankle swelling were more commonly observed in A1 group. Fatigue was more common in A2 and B2 groups. No major complications as deep vein thrombosis or skin burns were observed. Conclusions: Endovenous laser ablation is a safe and effective procedure with a high satisfaction rate shortening hospitalization durations and early ambulant activity. Pain, ankle swelling and fatigue are the most common minor complaints in the early postoperative period.

BACKGROUND:The appropriate sequence of different imagings and indications of thoracic computed tomography(TCT)in evaluating chest trauma have not yet been clarified at *** current study was undertaken to determine the value of chest X-ray(CXR)in detecting chest injuries in patients with blunt ***:A total of 447 patients with blunt thoracic trauma who had been admitted to the emergency department(ED)in the period of 2009–2013 were retrospectively *** patients met inclusion criteria(age>8 years,blunt injury to the chest,hemodynamically stable,and neurologically intact)and underwent both TCT and upright CXR in the *** imagings were re-interpreted after they were collected from the hospital database by two skilled ***:Of the 447 patients,309(69.1%)were *** mean age of the 447 patients was 39.5±19.2(range 9 and 87 years).158(35.3%)patients were injured in motor vehicle accidents(MVA).CXR showed the highest sensitivity in detecting clavicle fractures[95%CI 78.3(63.6–89)]but the lowest in pneuomediastinum[95%CI 11.8(1.5–36.4)].The specificity of CXR was close to 100%in detecting a wide array of ***:CXR remains to be the first choice in hemodynamically unstable patients with blunt chest ***,stable patients with normal CXR are candidates who should undergo TCT if significant injury has not been ruled out.
