Effect of Salinity Stress and Mutagenic Sodium Azide on Callus Induction and Plant Regeneration of Borage （Borago officinalis） in Vitro

The effect ofmutagenic NaN3 at concentration （0.0, 2.0 and 4.0 mM） and salinity stress at the levels （6.5, 8.5, 10.5 and 12 dS/m） on the seeds germination, callus induction and plant regeneration fi＇om stressed callus of different borage explants were investigated. The results showed that （4.0 mM） NaN3 with 4 h incubation period increased germination percentage reached 83.3% rate. Moreover the responses of different explants for callus induction in the presence of different combinations from auxin and cytokines were varied and a combination of（2 mg/L ）from each of BA and IAA gave high callus fresh weight reached （229.6, 218.0, 237.3） for （shoot tips, cotyledon leaves and hypocotyls） respectively .Concerning to the effect of salinity stress on callus induction and plant regeneration a high reduction in callus flesh weight and plant regeneration were observed at the high level of NaCl.

由于淡水资源日益匮乏,饮用水的稳定供应仍然是一个世界性挑战问题。在撒哈拉以南非洲,地下水是饮用水的主要水源,因此对地下水可利用性的影响因素开展调查研究十分重要,其结果可有助于改善当地水资源管理。冈比亚(The Gambia),尤其是布里卡马市(Brikama)经历了多年的缺水和地下水位下降的情况,但尚未有学者对当地地下水位下降的成因进行解释。本论文以布里卡马市为重点,研究了冈比亚的气候变量变化和地下水位下降的影响。本研究以西海岸地区云顿(Yundum)降雨观测站的气候资料和十口观测井的地下水位响应数据为研究基础,分别开展了以下工作:1)进行趋势分析以研究气候变量的变化模式;2)采用多元线性回归(MLR)模型建立气候变量与地下水位之间的关系;3)使用自回归综合移动平均线(ARIMA)模型来预测布里卡马市未来三年(2019～2021)的地下水位。研究结果表明降雨和温度呈上升趋势,而蒸发呈下降趋势。研究区域的地下水位受气候变量的影响,降雨是造成地下水位波动的主要因素。气候变量与地下水位之间的关系非常显著,P值为1.68e-06(P<0.001),多元回归拟合的决定系数为48%。预测结果表明研究区的地下水位在未来三年将呈下降趋势。这项研究表明,气候变化是冈比亚应当重点关注的问题之一,需要进一步的研究。本研究的结果还表明在环境和政府两级都有许多干预和改善水资源管理的机会。因此,这项研究有助于理解冈比亚的气候变化现象,并有助于减少的气候变化对布里卡马市地下水资源的挑战。此外,建模结果表明,本文采用的MLR和ARIMA模型模型能够以合理的精度预测地下水位。

In this letter,a titanium aluminum carbide(Ti_(3)AlC_(2))coated D-shaped fiber is proposed and demonstrated as a new saturable absorber(SA)for Q-switched laser pulse *** preparing the SA,the TiAlCpowder is dispersed in liquid polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)before the solution is dropped and left to dry onto a polished surface of D-shape *** SA is added to an erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL)cavity to modulate the cavity loss for *** Q-switched laser is obtained at 1561 *** pulse width of the pulses can be varied between 7.4μs and 5.1μs with a corresponding repetition rate range from 41.26 k Hz to 54.35 k Hz,when the pump power is increased from 42.2 m W to 71.5 m *** 71.5 m W pump,the pulse energy is obtained at 70.3 n *** signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)of the fundamental frequency is recorded at 67 d B,which indicates the stability of the laser.

AtzABC Catabolic Gene Probe from Novel Atrazine-Degrading Rhodococcus Strain Isolated from a Nigerian Agricultural Soil

A batch enrichment technique was used to isolate atrazine-degrading Rhodococcus sp strain from an agricultural land with history of atrazine application in Bauchi state, Northeastern Nigeria. The strain was identified on the basis of physiological, biochemical and 16S r RNA gene sequencing. Growth studies and HPLC analysis showed that the strain has potential of atrazine degradation. An investigation into the catabolic genes Atz ABC, which transform atrazine to cyanuric acid, confirms the chromosomal DNA of strain to harbor BC genes, as compared with the positive control, Rhodococcus j.stii RHA1. The strain does not possess the Atz A in all catabolic gene probe carried out. The isolation and characterization of the Rhodococcus sp strain showed that catabolic genes may have evolved from a single origin with widespread global distribution, with possible potential in atrazine bioremediation.

Genetic variation is a key factor influencing cytokine production capacity,but which genetic loci regulate cytokine production before and after vaccination,particularly in African population is ***,we aimed to identify single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)controlling cytokine responses after microbial stimulation in infants of West-African ancestry,comprising of low-birth-weight neonates randomized to bacillus Calmette-Gue rin(BCG)vaccine-at-birth or to the usual delayed ***-wide cytokine cytokine quantitative trait loci(cQTL)mapping revealed 12 independent loci,of which the LINC01082-LINC00917 locus influenced more than half of the cytokine-stimulation pairs ***,nine distinct cQTLs were found among infants randomized to *** validation confirmed that several complement genes affect cytokine response after BCG *** observed a limited overlap of common cQTLs between the West-African infants and cohorts of Western European *** data reveal strong population-specific genetic effects on cytokine production and may indicate new opportunities for therapeutic intervention and vaccine development in African populations.

为更准确地模拟基因调控网络的动力学行为,考虑采用新的两导数Runge-Kutta模拟算法。这种数值算法的特点是在格式中融入了真实解的二阶结构,使得模拟结果更为精确。与通用的经典四级四阶Runge-Kutta算法RK4相比,二级四阶两导数Runge-Kutta算法TDRK2s4具有3个优势:1)构造简单,易于编程实现;2)计算成本小,RK4每步需要计算4次非线性函数,而TDRK2s4只需要计算3次;3)存储空间小,RK4方法需要4个内级存储单元,而TDRK2s4只要2个。TDRK2s4用于模拟具有持续振荡特征的果蝇周期蛋白PER与per mRNA负反馈调控网络。与RK4相比较,对不同步长(h=1/2,1/4,1/8,1/16),TDRK2s4的误差远小于RK4的误差;而且TDRK2s4对大步长(h=1/2)的误差远小于RK4对小步长(h=1/16)的误差。对固定步长(h=1/4),随着模拟区间的延长,TDRK2s4的累积误差增长十分缓慢,而RK4的累积误差增长很快。对不同步长(h=1/2,1/4,1/8,1/16),TDRK2s4计算耗费的CPU时间也明显少于RK4。TDRK2s4的模拟效率远高于RK4。结论:当基因调控网络微分方程组右端函数的导数容易得到时,TDRK算法比传统的RK算法更适用于大步长、长时间的高效数值模拟。
