Meghadrigedda, a non-perennial drainage system is one of the major water resources of Vishakhapatnam city located in the northern coastal region of Andhra Pradesh, India. It traverses through the hilly terrain of Eastern GhatMobile Belt (EGMB) characterized by khondalitic rock formations. Excessive siltation scenario aggravated due to soil erosion in its catchment is threatening the very existence of Meghadrigedda reservoir. In order to assess the intensity of soil erosion as well as silt deposition in the reservoir, an integrated study has been undertaken which takes into consideration various topographic, morphological, soil, and land use/land cover characteristics of the basin. The study aims at identification and mapping of erosion prone zones with respect to silt deposition using remote sensing and GIS *** in human induced land use practices in its catchment due to rapid growth in population, urbanization and industrialization are found to be of prime reasons for various forms of erosion. The study has noticed that various forms of erosion like sheet, gully and stream erosion are responsible for the siltation at large scale which is causing reduction of its designed storage capacity by 40%. Various sub-watersheds of the basin have been prioritized on the basis of erosion intensity for suggesting various mitigation measures like check-dam construction, afforestation etc. to protect the reservoir from the silting problem.

Recent advancements in internet mapping technology, efficient geospatial data management systems, and availability of different GIS API’s have revolutionized the way in which the geospatial data is being used, shared and represented through distributed systems for business applications. However, development of powerful, highly functional, yet cost- and time-effective enterprise WebGIS business systems requires a very robust and highly scalable architecture. The architecture should have the inherent characteristics of rapid development, a well-defined object library and at the same time it should comply with the existing geospatial interoperability standards defined by Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). On the other hand, development of extendible distributed business GIS systems requires the presence of tailor-made inbuilt models available as modules which can be extended further by readily implementable user-interface templates supported by object modeling environment which allows for custom design and delivery of the processes and map output. There are various commercial and open source web mapping solutions which offer a great deal of flexibility and functionality. Nevertheless, they restrict the user community with certain limitations, in terms of functionality, cost or complexity. This necessitates, defining a new approach which efficiently caters the user requirements and not limiting them with aforementioned shortcomings. This paper aims to evaluate various architectural alternatives for delivering robust?distributed GIS business solutions and also attempts to give an account of an implementable instance of a WebGIS architecture which can cater the multi-user and multi-industry requirements.

An inherent acceleratory effect of insulin on small intestinal transit and its pharmacological characterization in normal mice

AIM： To study an inherent effect of insulin on small intestinal transit and to explore involvement of various systems/mechanisms in normal mice. METHODS： Insulin at the doses of 2 μU/kg, 2 mU/kg, 2 U/kg or vehicle was subcutaneously administered to four groups of overnight fasted normal male mice. Blood glucose （BG） levels were measured 2 min before insulin administration and 2 min before sacrificing the animals for the measurement of small intestinal transit （SIT）. Charcoal meal was administered （0.3 mL） intragastrically 20 min after insulin administration and animals were sacrificed after 20 min and SIT was determined. For exploration of the various mechanisms involved in insulin-induced effect on SIT, the dose of insulin which can produce a significant acceleration of SIT without altering BG levels was determined. The following drugs, atropine （1 mg/kg）, clonidine （0.1 mg/kg）, ondansetron （1 mg/kg）, naloxone （5 mg/kg）, verapamil （8 mg/kg） and glibenclamide （10 mg/kg）, were administered intravenously 10 min prior to the administration of insulin （2 μU/kg）. RESULTS： The lower doses of insulin （2 μU/kg and 2 mU/kg） produced a significant acceleration of SIT from 52.0% to 70.7% and 73.5% without lowering blood glucose levels （P〈0.01）, while the highest dose of insulin （2 U/kg） produced a fall in blood glucose levels which was also associated with significant acceleration of SIT （P〈0.01）. After pretreatment of insulin （2 μU/kg） group with atropine, insulin could reverse 50% of the inhibition produced by atropine. In clonidine-pretreated group, insulin administration could reverse only 37% of the inhibition produced by clonidine and inhibition of SIT was significant compared with vehicle ＋ insulintreated group, i.e. from 74.7% to 27.7% （P〈0.01）. In ondansetron-pretreated group, insulin administration could produce only mild acceleration of SIT （23.5%）. Spontaneous intracranial hypotension treatment can be complicated by concomitant cerebral venous thrombosis and subdural hematoma.A 48 years old male,presenting orthostatic headache and neck pain for 1 month displayed sagittal sinus thrombosis and bilateral subdural effusions,as well as extradural fluid collection at T3-T8 level,upon magnetic resonance *** fluid opening pressure was 50 mmH2O,and a leak was confirmed at C2-C3 level by computed tomography(CT)*** presence of subdural hematoma precluded anticoagulation *** autologous epidural blood patch at C2-C3 level under CT guidance improved the patient’s condition,remaining free of residual symptoms or recurrence at six-month follow-up.

Bilateral thalamic infarcts have a low frequency among different subtypes of *** it does not involve a particular vascular territory,it therefore usually involves the occlusion of the artery of Percheron(AOP).Here we report a 79-year-old right-handed Parkinsonian female patient,who was found unresponsive in *** examination,the patient was drowsy with a Glasgow Coma Score(GCS)of 10/15(E2M5V3).She had absent doll’s eye response with anisocoric pupils and intermittent vertical gaze *** the patient had no apparent motor deficits,she was in a state of persistent somnolence with memory impairment and lack of ***-weighted magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)of the brain showed focal areas of restricted diffusion in the medial part of the thalami bilaterally and the rostral part of mid-brain(right>left)(bilateral paramedian thalamic with mid-brain pattern),suggestive of a hyper-acute infarct in the territory of *** patient was anticoagulated with 40 mg subcutaneous low molecular weight heparin and was started on double anti-platelets along with supportive *** level of consciousness is improved at a slow rate to a GCS of 12/15(E4M5V3).The patient had marked abulia with periods of drowsiness interspersed with periods of restlessness and uttering of abnormal sounds,but she was able to execute simple *** conclusion,occlusion of the AOP is a rare cause of coma in elderly ***-weighted MRI is the imaging modality of choice for early *** diagnosis of AOP occlusion may lead to favorable outcomes.

As the internet grows in popularity and therefore also in size more and more transmission takes place mainly because the technology is more readily available and applications have become more user friendly allowing entry to less sophisticated user over a broad spectrum. Most data transfer are mainly text based not secure and vulnerable to various forms of security risks. So the model that uses SSH for securing channel like intranet/internet which provides client authentication encryption and decryption with high degree of security by transferring the data in an encrypted format, up on this model enhances the efficiency of data transmission by encrypting or decrypting the data with AES in Counter Mode. AES is a symmetric key encryption standard. Moreover the permutation controlled by data can be performed at high speed in generic cpu. This scheme also expands the key space without costing more to run. And also finally through the combination of secure shell (ssh) and AES (Counter Mode) not only enhances the security of communication channel. It also provides various applications like remote user creation, remote user deletion, remote command execution, remote system shutdown, remote file transfer applications in a highly secure manner.
