Application of Synthetic Iron Oxyhydroxide with Influencing Factors for Removal of As(Ⅴ) and As(Ⅲ) from Groundwater

Synthesized iron oxyhydroxide was applied for the adsorptive removal of As(V)and As(III)from the aquas ***,this investigation highlighted the synergistic effect of calcium carbonate in conjunction with iron oxyhydroxide,resulting in enhanced removal *** experiment was conducted under various conditions:concentration,dosage,pH,agitation,and *** characterizations such as Brunauer Emmett Teller,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were implied to understand adsorption *** Langmuir model revealed optimal concentrations for As(V)=500μg/L at pH-5 and As(III)=200μg/L at pH-7,resulting in 95%and 93%adsorption efficiencies,*** adsorption capacities“qm”were found to be 1266.943μg/g for As(V)and 1080.241μg/g for As(III).Freundlich model demonstrated favorable adsorption by indicating“n>1”such as As(V)=2.542 and As(III)=2.707;similarly,the speciation factor“RL<1”for both species as As(V)=0.1 and As(III)=0.5,*** kinetic study presented a pseudo-second-order model as best fitted,indicating throughout chemisorption processes for removing As(V)and As(III).Furthermore,incorporating calcium carbonate presented a significant leap in the removal efficiency,indicating As(V)from 95%to 98%and As(III)from 93%to 96%,*** findings offer profound motivation for developing effective and sustainable solutions to tackle arsenic contamination,underscoring the exceptional promise of iron oxyhydroxide in conjunction with calcium carbonate to achieve maximum removal efficiency.

Iron pyrite has been reported as a kind of potential material for arsenic(As)removal from the groundwater because it exhibits a strong attraction in groundwater for both arsenite and arsenate *** this study,batch adsorption experiments were carried out to determine the optimum conditions for As adsorption by the iron pyrite adsorbent,including the initial concentration,adsorbent dosage ratio,pH,temperature and stirring *** characterization methods were employed to identify the mechanism of As *** removal efficiency for As(Ⅲ)was observed 93%at pH=7,and for As(Ⅴ)was 95%observed at pH=*** model resulted in the maximum adsorption capacity(q_(m))for As(Ⅲ)and As(Ⅴ)were 571.7 and 671.1μg/g,respectively,as well as the experiments were found to be favorable as separation factor R_(L)1)indicates favorable *** pseudo-first and second-order kinetic models also fitted *** addition of oxalate on the adsorbent surface plays an important role for the recycling of Fe(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅲ)to minimize the arsenic *** surface area,ion exchange mechanism and structure of adsorbent confirmed that addition of oxalate could enhance the surface area of adsorbent.

Dramatic response of hepatitis C patients chronically infected with hepatitis C virus genotype 3 to sofosbuvirbased therapies in Punjab, Pakistan: A prospective study

AIM To prospectively evaluate the efficacy of sofobuvir(SOF) in hepatitis C patients infected with hepatitis C virus(HCV) genotype 3 in *** The present study was performed with the coordination of gastroenterology and pathology departments of Shalamar Hospital Lahore from August 2014 to May 2016. The total number of patients included in this study was 1375 and all of them were infected with HCV genotype 3. On the basis of drug combinations, all the patients were separated into two groups. The first group of patients was treated for 24 wk with SOF(Sovaldi? by Gilead Sciences) plus ribavirin(RBV) [Ribazol? by Getz Pharma Pakistan(PVT) Ltd], while the patients of the second group were treated with SOF + RBV + pegylatedinterferon(peg IFN) alfa-2 a(Ropegra by Roach) for 12 wk. HCV genotyping and viral load measurement were performed on fully automated Abbott Real-Time PCR system(Abbott m24 sp automated nucleic acid extraction system and Abbott m2000 rt amplification system; abbott Molecular, Des Plaines, IL, United States). For the assessment of sustained virological response(SVR), all HCV RNA negative patients were followed for 12weeks after the treatment completion. Any patient with less than 12 IU/m L viral load after 12 wk of treatment completion was considered as a sustained virological responder(SVR-12).RESULTS A total of 1375 patients chronically infected with HCV genotype 3 were treated with two drug combinations SOF + RBV and SOF + RBV + peg IFN alfa-2 a. On the basis of these drug combinations, patients were divided into two groups(first and second). Overall SVR-12 was excellent in both groups(99.17% and 97.91%). Older patients(> 40 years) of second group showed lower SVR-12(93.46%) compared to first group older patients(98.79%), while in the younger patients of both groups, the SVR-12 rate was almost the same(99.54% in first group and 99.05% in second group). Objective:To determine the accuracy of transoral flexible laryngoscope (TFL) biopsy and also to identify the safety as office based procedure in terms of ***:This is a diagnostic study;the type of intervention is outpatient department based biopsy of laryngeal *** patients seen in ENT outpatient department of Lyari General Hospital with suspicious lesions of Larynx were referred for Transoral Flexible Laryngoscopy Biopsy under local *** specimens were sent for *** patients with benign pathology or carcinoma in situ were referred for direct laryngoscopy and *** sensitivity and specificity were calculated and the frequencies of complications were monitored to determine the complication ***:During the course of study a total of 47 patients underwent TFL biopsy in office *** of these patients 16 patients were referred for direct laryngoscopy *** study population included 32 men and 15 women with ages ranging from 28 to 52 years and mean of (39 ± 6) *** 43 patients squamous cell carcinoma was the final diagnosis in 31 *** the rest of 12 patients' dysplasia and benign lesion was the diagnosis in 9 and 3 patients *** 12 patients underwent direct laryngoscopy biopsy and 10 of them diagnosed with invasive carcinoma rest had benign *** the specificity was 75.6% and sensitivity was 100%.None of the patients developed any serious ***:All patients with a suspicious lesion diagnosed by TFL biopsy as being benign or carcinoma in situ should have direct laryngoscopy for verification of the *** the results positive for carcinoma are *** addition,this is a safe procedure.

Enhancing PDF Malware Detection through Logistic Model Trees

Malware is an ever-present and dynamic threat to networks and computer systems in cybersecurity,and because of its complexity and evasiveness,it is challenging to identify using traditional signature-based detection *** study article discusses the growing danger to cybersecurity that malware hidden in PDF files poses,highlighting the shortcomings of conventional detection techniques and the difficulties presented by adversarial *** article presents a new method that improves PDF virus detection by using document analysis and a Logistic Model *** a dataset from the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity,a comparative analysis is carried out with well-known machine learning models,such as Credal Decision Tree,Naïve Bayes,Average One Dependency Estimator,Locally Weighted Learning,and Stochastic Gradient *** traditional structural and JavaScript-centric PDF analysis,the research makes a substantial contribution to the area by boosting precision and resilience in malware *** use of Logistic Model Tree,a thorough feature selection approach,and increased focus on PDF file attributes all contribute to the efficiency of PDF virus *** paper emphasizes Logistic Model Tree’s critical role in tackling increasing cybersecurity threats and proposes a viable answer to practical issues in the *** results reveal that the Logistic Model Tree is superior,with improved accuracy of 97.46%when compared to benchmark models,demonstrating its usefulness in addressing the ever-changing threat landscape.

Precipitation and impregnation procedures unevenly distribute metals on zeolite,limiting chemical transformation in Lewis-acid,Brönsted-acid and metal-catalyzed tandem ***,heterogeneous multitask transition metals oxides@zeolites are promising catalysts for sustainable processes;nevertheless,synthesis is fascinating and ***,the construction of purposely designed multitask materials segregated in selective shells reveals the remarkable spatial organization of metals-zeolite,resulting in them being suitable for a wide range of tandem *** synthesis of multi-site catalysts begins with a universal wet chemistry approach that yields nickel oxide(NiO)***,the NiO crystals are stabilized using cationic dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide,followed by achieving cross-linking carbon growth by emulsion polymerization of glucose in hydrothermal treatment to yield uniformed NiO@carbon spheres(NiO@CSs).Next,sequential adsorption of cobalt cations and colloidal ZSM-5(1%in H_(2)O,mass fraction),followed by calcination in air,yielded NiO@cobalt oxide@zeolite denoted as NiO@Co_(3)O_(4)@ZEO hollow *** hollowing mechanism and materials segregation within shells are revealed by scanning and transmission electron microscopy,thermogravimetric analysis,and X-ray *** finding advances the rational synthesis of heterogenous core-shell hollow structures for various gas phase catalytic tandem reactions to yield valuable chemicals.

The global outbreak of coronavirus infectious disease-2019(COVID-19)draws attentions in the transport and spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)in aerosols,wastewater,surface water and solid *** pathogens eventually enter the subsurface system,e.g.,soils in the vadose zone and groundwater in the aquifers,they might survive for a prolonged period of time owing to the uniqueness of subsurface *** addition,pathogens can transport in groundwater and contaminate surrounding drinking water sources,possessing long-term and concealed risks to human *** work critically reviews the influential factors of pathogen migration,unravelling the impacts of pathogenic characteristics,vadose zone physiochemical properties and hydrological variables on the migration of typical pathogens in subsurface *** assessment algorithm and two rating/weighting schemes are proposed to evaluate the migration abilities and risks of pathogens in subsurface *** there is still no evidence about the presence and distribution of SARS-CoV-2 in the vadose zones and aquifers,this study also discusses the migration potential and behavior of SARS-CoV-2 viruses in subsurface environment,offering prospective clues and suggestions for its potential risks in drinking water and effective prevention and control from hydrogeological points of view.

Consequences of Rényi entropy on the thermal geometries and Hawking evaporation of topological dyonic dilaton black hole

The thermodynamics of black holes(BHs)has had a profound impact on theoretical physics,providing insight into the nature of gravity,the quantum structure of spacetime and the fundamental laws governing the *** this study,we investigate thermal geometries and Hawking evaporation of the recently proposed topological dyonic dilaton BH in anti-de Sitter(Ad S)*** consider Rényi entropy and obtain the relations for pressure,heat capacity and Gibbs free energy and observe that the Rényi parameter and dilaton field play a vital role in the phase transition and stability of the ***,we use Weinhold,Ruppeiner and Hendi Panahiyah Eslam Momennia models to evaluate the scalar curvature of the BH and find out that the divergence points of the scalar curvature coincides with the zero of specific ***,using Stefan–Boltzmann law,we determine that the BH without a dilaton field evaporates far more quickly compared to the dilaton BH in Ad S space.

The present study is focused on evaluation of deep marine pelagic sediments of Late Cretaceous Kawagarh Formation of Kala-Chitta Range in the context of microfacies analysis,paleoenvironmental interpretation,planktonic foraminiferal biostratigraphy,sequence stratigraphy and diversification of species.A total of thirty three rock samples were collected from the measured *** microfacies are interpreted,namely planktonic foraminifera wackestone,planktonic foraminifera mudstone and sandy mudstone indicating low energy depositional environment i.e.,outer *** biostratigraphic studies show plentiful planktonic foraminifera species of Globotruncana,Heterohelix and ***,no association of benthic or siliceous organisms was *** the basis of available species assemblage,a single local planktonic foraminifera biozone i.e.,Globotruncana-Heterohelix-Globotruncanita Assemblage Biozone is *** biozone information is combined with published literature and Lower Santonian to Middle Maastrichtian age has been assigned to the Kawagarh *** trend of species occurrences evinces that species number decreases over time with pulsated rise in the Kawagarh *** Kawagarh Formation carbonates show an overall Transgressive Systems Tract(TST).The Kawagarh Formation of Pakistan evinces analogous characteristics to that of the Late Cretaceous Gurpi Formation of Iran based on the geologic age,outcrop lithology,microfacies,planktonic foraminiferal assemblages,depositional setting and sequence stratigraphy.
