Water Quality Evaluation of Chapurson Valley in Hunza Nagar, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan, Based on Statistical Analysis and Water Quality Index

Water borne ailments are of serious public health concern in Gilgit Baltistan’s (GB) region of Pakistan. The pollution load on the glacio-fluvial streams and surface water resources of the Chapurson Valley in the Hunza Nagar area of the GB is increasing as a result of anthropogenic activities and tourism. The present study focuses on the public health quality of drinking water of Chapurson valley. The study addressed the fundamental drinking water quality criteria in order to understand the state of the public health in the valley. To ascertain the current status of physico-chemical, metals, and bacteriological parameters, 25 water samples were collected through deterministic sampling strategy and examined accordingly. The physico-chemical parameters of the water samples collected from the valley were found to meet the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines of drinking water. The water samples showed a pattern of mean metal concentrations in order of Arsenic (As) > Lead (Pb) > Iron (Fe) > Zinc (Zn) > Copper (Cu) > Magnesium (Mg) > Calcium (Ca). As, Cu, Zn, Ca and Mg concentration were under the WHO guidelines range. However, results showed that Pb and Fe are present at much higher concentrations than recommended WHO guidelines. Similarly, the results of the bacteriological analysis indicate that the water samples are heavily contaminated with the organisms of public health importance (including total coliforms (TCC), total faecal coliforms (TFC) and total fecal streptococci (TFS) are more than 3 MPN/100mL). Three principal components, accounting for 48.44% of the total variance, were revealed using principal component analysis (PCA). Bacteriological parameters were shown to be the main determinants of the water quality as depicted by the PCA analysis. The dendrogram of Cluster analysis using the Ward’s method validated the same traits of the sampling locations that were found to be contaminated during geospatial analysis using the Inverse Distance Weight (IDW) m

An Effective Integrated Machine Learning Framework for Identifying Severity of Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus and Their Experimental Validation

Tomato yellow leaf curl virus(TYLCV)dispersed across different countries,specifically to subtropical regions,associated with more severe *** TYLCV was first isolated in 1931,it has been a menace to tomato industrial production worldwide over the past *** groups were newly isolated from TYLCV-resistant tomatoes in 2022;however,their functions are *** development of machine learning(ML)-based models using characterized sequences and evaluating blind predictions is one of the major challenges in interdisciplinary *** purpose of this study was to develop an integrated computational framework for the accurate identification of symptoms(mild or severe)based on TYLCV sequences(isolated in Korea).For the development of the framework,we first extracted 11 different feature encodings and hybrid features from the training data and then explored 8 different classifiers and developed their respective prediction models by using randomized 10-fold ***,we carried out a systematic evaluation of these 96 developed models and selected the top 90 models,whose predicted class labels were combined and considered as reduced *** the basis of these features,a multilayer perceptron was applied and developed the final prediction model(IML-TYLCVs).We conducted blind prediction on 3 groups using IML-TYLCVs,and the results indicated that 2 groups were severe and 1 group was ***,we confirmed the prediction with virus-challenging experiments of tomato plant phenotypes using infectious clones from 3 *** virologists and plant breeding professionals can access the user-friendly online IML-TYLCVs web server at https://***/IML-TYLCVs,which can guide them in developing new protection strategies for newly emerging viruses.

Existence of a Hartmann layer in the peristalsis of Sisko fluid

Analytical solutions for the peristaltic flow of a magneto hydrodynamic （MHD） Sisko fluid in a channel, under the effects of strong and weak magnetic fields, are presented. The governing nonlinear problem, for the strong magnetic field, is solved using the matched asymptotic expansion. The solution for the weak magnetic field is obtained using a regular perturbation method. The main observation is the existence of a Hartman boundary layer for the strong magnetic field at the location of the two plates of the channel. The thickness of the Hartmann boundary layer is determined analytically. The effects of a strong magnetic field and the shear thinning parameter of the Sisko fluid on the velocity profile are presented graphically.

Effects of Thermal Radiation and Slip Mechanism on Mixed Convection Flow of Williamson Nanofluid Over an Inclined Stretching Cylinder

The current investigation highlights the mixed convection slip flow and radiative heat transport of uniformly electrically conducting Williamson nanofluid yield by an inclined circular cylinder in the presence of Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameter.A Lorentzian magnetic body force model is employed and magnetic induction effects are *** governing equations are reduced to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations with associated boundary conditions by applying scaling group *** reduced nonlinear ordinary differential equations are then solved numerically by Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fifth-order method with shooting *** effects of magnetic field,Prandtl number,mixed convection parameter,buoyancy ratio parameter,Brownian motion parameter,thermophoresis parameter,heat generation/absorption parameter,mass transfer parameter,radiation parameter and Schmidt number on the skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt are analyzed and *** is found that the velocity of the fluid decreases with decrease in curvature parameter,whereas it increases with mixed convection ***,the local Nusselt number decreases with an increase in the radiation *** numerical comparison is also presented with the existing published results and found that the present results are in excellent agreement which also confirms the validity of the present methodology.

Projections of the transmission of the Omicron variant for Toronto,Ontario,and Canada using surveillance data following recent changes in testing policies

At the end of 2021,with the rapid escalation of COVID19 cases due to the Omicron variant,testing centers in Canada were *** alleviate the pressure on the PCR testing capacity,many provinces implemented new strategies that promote self testing and adjust the eligibility for PCR tests,making the count of new cases *** designed a novel compartmental model which captures the new testing guidelines,social behaviours,booster vaccines campaign and features of the newest variant *** better describe the testing eligibility,we considered the population divided into high risk and non-highrisk *** model is calibrated using data from January 1 to February 9,2022,on cases and severe outcomes in Canada,the province of Ontario and City of *** conduct analyses on the impact of PCR testing capacity,self testing,different levels of reopening and vaccination coverage on cases and severe *** results show that the total number of cases in Canada,Ontario and Toronto are 2.34(95%CI:1.22e3.38),2.20(95%CI:1.15e3.72),and 1.97(95%CI:1.13e3.41),times larger than reported cases,*** current testing strategy is efficient if partial restrictions,such as limited capacity in public spaces,are *** more people to have access to PCR reduces the daily cases and severe outcomes;however,if PCR test capacity is insufficient,then it is important to promote self ***,we found that reopening to a pre-pandemic level will lead to a resurgence of the infections,peaking in late March or April *** and adherence to isolation protocols are important supports to the testing policies to mitigate any possible spread of the virus.
