The sea.less tra.ling edge morphing fla. is investiga.ed using a.high-fidelity stea.y-sta.e a.rodyna.ic sha.e optimiza.ion to determine its optimum configura.ion for different flight conditions,including climb,cruise,a.d gliding descent.a.compa.a.ive study is a.so conducted between a.wing equipped with morphing fla. a.d a.wing with conventiona. hinged *** optimiza.ion is performed by specifying a.certa.n objective function a.d the flight performa.ce goa. for ea.h flight *** the climb ra.e,extending the flight ra.ge a.d endura.ce in cruise,a.d decrea.ing the descend ra.e,a.e the flight performa.ce goa.s covered in this *** optimum configura.ions were found for the morphing wing by determining the optimum morphing fla. deflection for ea.h flight condition,ba.ed on its objective function,ea.h of which performed better tha. tha. of the ba.eline *** wa. shown tha. by using optimum configura.ion for the morphing wing in climb condition,the required power could be reduced by up to 3.8%a.d climb ra.e increa.es by 6.13%.The compa.a.ive study a.so revea.ed tha. the morphing wing enha.ces a.rodyna.ic efficiency by up to 17.8%a.d extends the la.ina. ***,the optimum configura.ion for the gliding descent brought a.out a.43%reduction in the descent ra.e.
