The recurrence of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)after surgical resection continues to pose a major challenge to cancer *** HNSCC exhibits a low response rate to immune checkpoint blockade(ICB),while photothermal therapy(PTT)can increase the infiltration of immune cells to make tumors more susceptible to cancer *** this regard,we designed and constructed a novel multifunctional nanocomposite comprised of oxidized bacterial cellulose(OBC),thrombin(TB),and gold nanocages(AuNCs)containing anti-programmed death 1(PD-1)antibody(αPD-1@AuNCs),which allows the combination of therapies with remarkable postoperative antitumor immunity to control local tumor ***αPD-1@AuNCs displayed high light-to-heat conversion efficiency and induced pyroptosis under near infrared(NIR)irradiation,which activated a potent antitumor immune *** importantly,the therapeutic system could induce tumor pyroptosis and enhance antitumor immune response by increasing T-cell infiltration and reducing the immune suppressive cells,when combined with local ICB therapy,which effectively avoided the tumor recurrence in a HNSCC postoperative mice ***,the newly developed multifunctional nanocomposites could be a promising candidate for the treatment of postoperative HNSCC.

Synthesis of yttrium and cerium doped ZnO nanoparticles as highly inexpensive and stable photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution

Yttrium and cerium co-doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by combustion route and characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-vis DRS),photoluminescence(PL)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)*** introduction of yttrium ions has efficiently increased the relative percentage of Ce^(3+)ions in *** and cerium co-doped ZnO shows efficient photo activity for hydrogen evolution(10.61 mmol/((g·h))higher than previously reported optimal value for rare earth codoped ZnO *** remarkably increased hydrogen evolution can be ascribed to the synergy between electronic anchoring effect of Y^(3+)/Y^(2+)and Ce^(4+)/Ce^(3+)redox *** report presents new idea for the synthesis of efficient photocatalyst using economical route and ion anchoring *** hydrogen evolution was also tested using Na_(2)S and Na_(2)SO_(3)as electron donors under visible light *** synthesized photocatalysts also exhibit high stability.

Plant extract-loaded bacterial cellulose composite membrane for potential biomedical applications

Bacterial cellulose(BC)has been extensively explored as biomaterial for various biomedical applications owing to its non-toxic nature and unique structural morphology and impressive physicochemical and mechanical ***,its high production cost and lack of antimicrobial activity have restricted its large-scale production and therapeutic ***,the current study is aimed to devise a strategy for low-cost BC production and develop its composite with bioactive materials to bless it with antimicrobial ***,5 mm thick reticulated fibrous and highly porous BC was produced by utilizing the wasted rotten tomatoes as the production *** produced bacterial cellulose waste(BCW)(i.e.,produced from wastes)was ex-situ modified with bioactive plant extract(PE)obtained from Euclea schimperi,and the bactericidal activity of the developed BCW/PE was evaluated against Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative Escherichia coli through disc diffusion and colony forming unit(CFU)count *** BCW/PE composite showed high bactericidal activities against *** and produced clear inhibition zone whereas negligible activity was observed against ***,indicating its bactericidal activity mainly against the Gram-positive ***,this study illustrates that there is a huge potential for developing valuable biomaterials from food wastes and utilizing their liquid holding capabilities for value-added applications in medical and pharmaceutical fields.

Trans-catheter arterial embolization(TAE)plays an important role in treating various *** available embolic agents lack X-ray visibility and do not prevent the reflux phenomenon,thus hindering their application for TAE ***,we aim to develop a multifunctional embolic agent that combines the X-ray radiopacity with local procoagulant *** barium sulfate nanoparticles(BaSO4 NPs)were synthesized and loaded into the polyvinyl alcohol/chitosan(PVA/CS)to prepare the radiopaque BaSO4/PVA/CS microspheres(MS).Thereafter,thrombin was immobilized onto the BaSO4/PVA/CS MS to obtain the thrombin@BaSO4/PVA/CS *** prepared BaSO4/PVA/CS MS were highly spherical with diameters ranging from 100 to 300μ*** vitro CT imaging showed increased X-ray visibility of BaSO4/PVA/CS MS with the increased content of BaSO4 NPs in the PVA/CS *** biocompatibility assessments demonstrated that the MS were non-cytotoxic and possessed permissible hemolysis *** biofunctionalized thrombin@BaSO4/PVA/CS MS showed improved hemostatic capacity and facilitated hemostasis in ***,in vivo study performed on a rabbit ear embolization model confirmed the excellent X-ray radiopaque stability of the BaSO4/PVA/CS ***,both the BaSO4/PVA/CS and thrombin@BaSO4/PVA/CS MS achieved superior embolization effects with progressive ischemic necrosis on the ear tissue and induced prominent ultrastructural changes in the endothelial *** findings of this study suggest that the developed MS could act as a radiopaque and hemostatic embolic agent to improve the embolization efficiency.

Glycolic acid(GA),as an anti-aging skincare ingredient,plays a pivotal role in anti-aging ***,its benefits could be overshadowed due to its side effects including skin burning and irritation when *** cellulose(BC)is a highly pure form of cellulose,biosynthesized in the form of a swollen membrane by several kinds of bacteria that was demonstrated to modulate the release of model drugs owing to its porous and 3D fibrous network structure,and glycerol(GL),as a plasticizer,could enhance the controlled drug ***,we report a topical controlled drug delivery system based on BC membrane,GA and GL for controlling sustainable release of GA to reduce its side effects on the skin,while maintaining its prolonged and maximum therapeutic *** results showed that the incorporation of GL increased the malleability and flexibility of BC/GA/GL membrane,as compared with BC/GA *** addition,the GL enhanced the control of the GA delivery,as evidenced by a higher swelling capacity and thereby a slower release of the GA from BC/GA/GL *** importantly,in vitro study indicated that both BC/GA and BC/GA/GL membranes could effectively stimulate endogenous collagen synthesis in NIH3T3 cells owing to the release of GA,and that BC/GA/GL membrane is more conducive to a long-term cell adhesion,spreading,and proliferation of NIH3T3 and HaCaT cells due to its lower and sustainable release of GA than BC/GA *** study suggests the BC/GL/GA composite membrane holds great promise as an appealing platform to control the release of GA to greatly promote renewal of skin cells for effective anti-aging treatment.

Enhancing PDF Malware Detection through Logistic Model Trees

Malware is an ever-present and dynamic threat to networks and computer systems in cybersecurity,and because of its complexity and evasiveness,it is challenging to identify using traditional signature-based detection *** study article discusses the growing danger to cybersecurity that malware hidden in PDF files poses,highlighting the shortcomings of conventional detection techniques and the difficulties presented by adversarial *** article presents a new method that improves PDF virus detection by using document analysis and a Logistic Model *** a dataset from the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity,a comparative analysis is carried out with well-known machine learning models,such as Credal Decision Tree,Naïve Bayes,Average One Dependency Estimator,Locally Weighted Learning,and Stochastic Gradient *** traditional structural and JavaScript-centric PDF analysis,the research makes a substantial contribution to the area by boosting precision and resilience in malware *** use of Logistic Model Tree,a thorough feature selection approach,and increased focus on PDF file attributes all contribute to the efficiency of PDF virus *** paper emphasizes Logistic Model Tree’s critical role in tackling increasing cybersecurity threats and proposes a viable answer to practical issues in the *** results reveal that the Logistic Model Tree is superior,with improved accuracy of 97.46%when compared to benchmark models,demonstrating its usefulness in addressing the ever-changing threat landscape.

Design and Synthesis of NiO@Co_(3)O_(4)@ZSM-5 Heterogeneous Multitask Hollow Structures for Tandem Catalysis

Precipitation and impregnation procedures unevenly distribute metals on zeolite,limiting chemical transformation in Lewis-acid,Brönsted-acid and metal-catalyzed tandem ***,heterogeneous multitask transition metals oxides@zeolites are promising catalysts for sustainable processes;nevertheless,synthesis is fascinating and ***,the construction of purposely designed multitask materials segregated in selective shells reveals the remarkable spatial organization of metals-zeolite,resulting in them being suitable for a wide range of tandem *** synthesis of multi-site catalysts begins with a universal wet chemistry approach that yields nickel oxide(NiO)***,the NiO crystals are stabilized using cationic dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide,followed by achieving cross-linking carbon growth by emulsion polymerization of glucose in hydrothermal treatment to yield uniformed NiO@carbon spheres(NiO@CSs).Next,sequential adsorption of cobalt cations and colloidal ZSM-5(1%in H_(2)O,mass fraction),followed by calcination in air,yielded NiO@cobalt oxide@zeolite denoted as NiO@Co_(3)O_(4)@ZEO hollow *** hollowing mechanism and materials segregation within shells are revealed by scanning and transmission electron microscopy,thermogravimetric analysis,and X-ray *** finding advances the rational synthesis of heterogenous core-shell hollow structures for various gas phase catalytic tandem reactions to yield valuable chemicals.

Consequences of Rényi entropy on the thermal geometries and Hawking evaporation of topological dyonic dilaton black hole

The thermodynamics of black holes(BHs)has had a profound impact on theoretical physics,providing insight into the nature of gravity,the quantum structure of spacetime and the fundamental laws governing the *** this study,we investigate thermal geometries and Hawking evaporation of the recently proposed topological dyonic dilaton BH in anti-de Sitter(Ad S)*** consider Rényi entropy and obtain the relations for pressure,heat capacity and Gibbs free energy and observe that the Rényi parameter and dilaton field play a vital role in the phase transition and stability of the ***,we use Weinhold,Ruppeiner and Hendi Panahiyah Eslam Momennia models to evaluate the scalar curvature of the BH and find out that the divergence points of the scalar curvature coincides with the zero of specific ***,using Stefan–Boltzmann law,we determine that the BH without a dilaton field evaporates far more quickly compared to the dilaton BH in Ad S space.
