In soil biota,higher and enduring concentration of heavy metals like cadmium(Cd)is hazardous and associated with great loss in growth,yield,and quality parameters of most of the crop plants.Recently,in-situ applications of eco-friendly stabilizing agents in the form of organic modifications have been utilized to mitigate the adverse effects of Cd-toxicity.This controlled experiment was laid down to appraise the imprints of various applied organic amendments namely poultry manure(PM),farmyard manure(FYM),and sugarcane press mud(PS)to immobilize Cd in polluted soil.Moreover,phytoavailability of Cd in wheat was also accessed under an alkaline environment.Results revealed that the addition of FYM(5–10 ton ha^(-1))in Cd-contaminated soil significantly increased germination rate,leaf chlorophyll content,plant height,spike length,biological and grain yield amongst all applied organic amendments.Moreover,the addition of FYM(5–10 ton ha^(-1))also reduced the phytoavailability of Cd by 73–85%in the roots,57–83%in the shoots,and 81–90%in grains of wheat crop.Thus,it is affirmed that incorporation of FYM(5–10 ton ha^(-1))performed better to enhance wheat growth and yield by remediating Cd.Thus,the application of FYM(5–10 ton ha^(-1))reduced the toxicity induced by Cd to plants by declining its uptake and translocation as compared to all other applied organic amendments to immobilize Cd under sandy alkaline polluted soil.

Basal Application of Zinc to Improve Mung Bean Yield and Zinc-Grains-Biofortfication

Worldwide,the dietary deficiency of zinc(Zn)is prevailing in almost all arid and semi-arid regions.Zinc deficiency is not only the major constraint of lower yield,but also dietary Zn deficiency in cereals grains may cause increasing malnutrition and chronic health problems in human.Exogenous application of Zn through basal soil nutrition might be a useful option to recover Zn deficiency in mung bean.Therefore,field study was conducted to optimize the optimum level and method of Zn nutrition to enhance crop yield and Zn biofortification of mung bean through basal application.Zinc was applied at 0,5,10 and 15 kg/ha as basal application and side dressing,and in combination(50%basal application+50%side dressing).The results highlighted that Zn nutrition prominently improved the mung bean yield as compared with control(no Zn applied).The maximum grains yield and Zn concentration in grains were obtained where Zn was applied at 15 kg/ha as basal application as compared with all other combinations.Better improvement in grain yield was due to significant increase in more number of pods and grain size owing to well-developed root system,improved leaf area index and high chlorophyll contents in mung beans leaves.Amongst all applied Zn nutrition’s the basal application of Zn(15 kg/ha)was a viable option to get higher yield and Zn biofortification of mung bean.

The ion-acoustic(IA) mode exhibiting various orbital angular momentum(OAM) states is examined in a plasma with drifting electrons.The constituent plasma species are modeled with a non-gyrotropic Maxwellian distribution and discussion of dispersion relation and growth rate of twisted IA waves under various conditions is presented.In the domain of kinetic model,the twisted IA waves are characterized by Laguerre-Gaussian(LG) solutions,where plasma distribution function and electric field are decomposed into axial and azimuthal components.The plasma response function is obtained under paraxial approximations and investigated for threshold condition of instability growth rate with helical electric field structures.The impact of an extra electron specie on the instability is demonstrated through a comparison of twisted waves for single and double electron species.

Consequences of Rényi entropy on the thermal geometries and Hawking evaporation of topological dyonic dilaton black hole

The thermodynamics of black holes(BHs)has had a profound impact on theoretical physics,providing insight into the nature of gravity,the quantum structure of spacetime and the fundamental laws governing the Universe.In this study,we investigate thermal geometries and Hawking evaporation of the recently proposed topological dyonic dilaton BH in anti-de Sitter(Ad S)space.We consider Rényi entropy and obtain the relations for pressure,heat capacity and Gibbs free energy and observe that the Rényi parameter and dilaton field play a vital role in the phase transition and stability of the BH.Moreover,we use Weinhold,Ruppeiner and Hendi Panahiyah Eslam Momennia models to evaluate the scalar curvature of the BH and find out that the divergence points of the scalar curvature coincides with the zero of specific heat.Finally,using Stefan–Boltzmann law,we determine that the BH without a dilaton field evaporates far more quickly compared to the dilaton BH in Ad S space.

Gravity-driven powder flow and the influence of external vibration on flow characteristics

The controlled and homogeneous flow of dry granular powders through hoppers is essential for applications,namely,packaging of food grains,fertilizers and additive manufacturing processes such as directed energy deposition for better product quality.One of the major issues encountered in the granular flows through hoppers is flow stagnation due to the well-known arching phenomenon.Vibration-assisted granular flow through hoppers is one of the mechanisms used for better mass flow control.In this work,the influence of external mechanical vibration on the powder flow is investigated experimentally and using discrete element simulations.First,the mass flow rate through the hopper increases with an increase in vibration amplitude and then decreases,signifying the existence of an optimal amplitude of vibration.The DEM simulations explained the underlying mechanisms for the existence of an optimal amplitude of vibration corresponding to the maximum mass flow rate.A range of vibration amplitudes from 0 mm to 3.5 mm is used to study the flow behaviour;the maximum flow of around 33 g/s to 35 g/s is observed for 0.75 mm to 1.25 mm vibration amplitude for the hopper-particle combination studied in this work.The work also reports the influence of vibration frequency,hopper,and particle dimension on the flow characteristics.The research facilitates the effective use of mechanical vibration to enhance powder flow that can further be extended to non-spherical and multi-material particles.

Heat storage properties of phase change materials(PCMs) are essential characteristics that perform a key role in thermal heat energy storage systems.The thermal properties of PCMs can be improved by developing metal foam/PCM composites.The addition of metal foam in PCMs has a significant effect on the thermal characteristics of PCMs.In this paper,the heat storage properties of two different metal foam/PCM composites were experimentally examined.The behavior of paraffin in metal foam(copper and iron-nickel)/paraffin composites concerning pure paraffin at a constant heat flux of 1000 W/m^(2) in three directions simultaneously(x,y,and z) was studied.Paraffin was infiltrated into copper and iron-nickel foams to develop composite materials which resulted in enhancing the thermal conductivity of the paraffin.A comparative analysis is made on the heat storage properties of paraffin in copper and iron-nickel foams/paraffin composites.Inner temperature distribution during the phase transition process is experimentally evaluated.This comparison indicates that temperature uniformity in copper foam/paraffin composite is better than in iron-nickel foam/paraffin composite and pure paraffin at the same heat flux.Experimental results show that at heat flux of 1000 W/m^(2),the heat storage time for copper foam/paraffin composite is 20.63% of that of iron-nickel foam/paraffin composite.

Software Defined Network(SDN)and Network Function Virtualization(NFV)technology promote several benefits to network operators,including reduced maintenance costs,increased network operational performance,simplified network lifecycle,and policies management.Network vulnerabilities try to modify services provided by Network Function Virtualization MANagement and Orchestration(NFV MANO),and malicious attacks in different scenarios disrupt the NFV Orchestrator(NFVO)and Virtualized Infrastructure Manager(VIM)lifecycle management related to network services or individual Virtualized Network Function(VNF).This paper proposes an anomaly detection mechanism that monitors threats in NFV MANO and manages promptly and adaptively to implement and handle security functions in order to enhance the quality of experience for end users.An anomaly detector investigates these identified risks and provides secure network services.It enables virtual network security functions and identifies anomalies in Kubernetes(a cloud-based platform).For training and testing purpose of the proposed approach,an intrusion-containing dataset is used that hold multiple malicious activities like a Smurf,Neptune,Teardrop,Pod,Land,IPsweep,etc.,categorized as Probing(Prob),Denial of Service(DoS),User to Root(U2R),and Remote to User(R2L)attacks.An anomaly detector is anticipated with the capabilities of a Machine Learning(ML)technique,making use of supervised learning techniques like Logistic Regression(LR),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Random Forest(RF),Naïve Bayes(NB),and Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost).The proposed framework has been evaluated by deploying the identified ML algorithm on a Jupyter notebook in Kubeflow to simulate Kubernetes for validation purposes.RF classifier has shown better outcomes(99.90%accuracy)than other classifiers in detecting anomalies/intrusions in the containerized environment.

To the Editor,Diabetes mellitus(DM)is an endocrine disorder of chronic hyperglycemia diagnosed by fasting blood sugar levels of≥126 mg/dL or glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)levels of≥6.5%.Type 1 DM involves a lack of insulin secretion by the pancreas,whereas the human body's resistance to insulin combined with impaired function of beta cells causes type 2 DM.

This research is devoted to diagnosing water-borne infectious diseases caused by floods employing a novel diagnosis approach,the Einstein hybrid structure of q-rung orthopair fuzzy soft set.This approach integrates parts of fuzzy logic and soft set theory to develop a robust alternative for disease detection in stressful situations,especially in areas affected by floods.Compared to the traditional intuitionistic fuzzy soft set and Pythagorean fuzzy soft set,the q-rung orthopair fuzzy soft set(q-ROFSS)adequately incorporates unclear and indeterminate facts.The major objective of this investigation is to formulate the q-rung orthopair fuzzy soft Einstein hybrid weighted average(q-ROFSEHWA)operator and its specific characteristics.Moreover,our stated operator is implementing intelligentmulti-criteria group decision-making(MCGDM)methodology.Floods are severe natural catastrophes that raise the risk of diseases and epidemics,particularly those caused by contaminants in the water,such as gastrointestinal diseases,respiratory infections,vector-borne diseases,skin infections,and water-borne parasites.The designed MCGDM strategy tackles the prevalence of certain conditions in flood-affected patients.A comparative investigation determined that the suggested method for detecting water-borne infectious disease due to floods is more effective and productive than conventional methods because of its logical structure.

超高性能纤维混凝土(UHPC)是一种先进的高性能混凝土,具有出色的力学性能和极高的耐久性。UHPC被用于新结构大约有二十年的历史。最近,将UHPC和普通混凝土相结合,即UHPC-RC复合结构构件是可持续结构工程中最具吸引力的应用方向之一。与普通强度混凝土相比,UHPC增强了力学性能,特别是抗拉强度有了提升,因此可以生产出配有较少或不配抗剪钢筋的轻薄结构构件。为了实现UHPC材料的大规模生产和低成本高效益的使用,需要基于性能进行UHPC结构构件的设计和优化。UHPC构件的抗剪切能力显着地取决于UHPC的拉伸和开裂后行为。研究人员对UHPC梁的抗弯曲和剪切性能进行了大量实验研究,但实验结果并没有阐释出明确的力学机理。此外,目前已经进行了一定数量的实验和分析研究用以预测UHPC-RC叠合梁的剪切能力。本研究旨在开展基于混凝土塑性理论的UHPC和UHPC-RC叠合梁抗剪承载力理论研究。在塑性理论和极限分析方法的框架下,提出了极限抗剪承载力预测理论模型,以UHPC作为永久模板预测UHPC I形和半预制UHPC-RC复合梁的极限抗剪承载力。在理论模型的构建中,以塑性理论和极限分析方法为基础,基于单纤维模型和UHPC材料的直拉强度,纳入了钢纤维的贡献。UHPC中的增强纤维作为被动增强材料可以起到与梁中常规抗剪钢筋相同的作用。一般而言,在没有箍筋的I形UHPC梁中由于腹板中产生裂纹而发生失效。在塑性理论上限法分析中,基于Mohr-Coulomb破坏准则,增强钢纤维被认为对UHPC的直拉强度和内摩擦角产生了影响。在塑性理论下限定理和单拉压杆模型(STM)中,基体和钢纤维贡献均与AFGC推荐的相同。所提出的改进的极限抗剪承载力模型通过与文献中7项研究的实验结果对比进行了验证。所提出的改进的上下限直接拉压杆模型结果与实验数据表现出良好的一致性。所提出的模型可用于预测UHPC-RC复合结构和UHPC梁的极限承载能力。
