With the rapid progress in computer science,including artificial intelligence,big data and cloud computing,full-space spot generation can be pivotal to many practical applications,such as facial recognition,motion detection,augmented reality,*** opportunities may be achieved by using diffractive optical elements(DOEs)or light detection and ranging(LIDAR).However,DOEs suffer from intrinsic limitations,such as demanding depth-controlled fabrication techniques,large thicknesses(more than the wavelength),Lambertian operation only in half space,*** nevertheless relies on complex and bulky scanning systems,which hinders the miniaturization of the spot ***,inspired by a Lambertian scatterer,we report a Hermitian-conjugate metasurface scrambling the incident light to a cloud of random points in full space with compressed information density,functioning in both transmission and reflection *** 4044 random spots are experimentally observed in the entire space,covering angles at nearly 90°.Our scrambling metasurface is made of amorphous silicon with a uniform subwavelength height,a nearly continuous phase coverage,a lightweight,flexible design,and low-heat ***,it may be mass produced by and integrated into existing semiconductor foundry *** work opens important directions for emerging 3D recognition sensors,such as motion sensing,facial recognition,and other applications.

quantum entanglements between integer-order and fractional-order orbital angular momentums(OAMs)have been previously ***,the entangled nature of arbitrary rational-order OAM has long been considered a myth due to the absence of an effective strategy for generating arbitrary rational-order OAM ***,we report a single metadevice comprising a bilaterally symmetric grating with an aperture,creating optical beams with dynamically controllable OAM values that are continuously varying over a rational *** to its encoded spiniform phase,this novel metagrating enables the production of an average OAM that can be increased without a theoretical limit by embracing distributed singularities,which differs significantly from the classic method of stacking phase singularities using fork *** new method makes it possible to probe the unexplored niche of quantum entanglement between arbitrarily defined OAMs in light,which could lead to the complex manipulation of microparticles,high-dimensional quantum entanglement and optical *** show that quantum coincidence based on rational-order OAM-superposition states could give rise to low cross-talks between two different states that have no significant overlap in their spiral ***,future applications in quantum communication and optical micromanipulation may be found.

Helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces based on symmetric spin–orbit interactions (SOIs) have practical limits because they cannot provide central-symmetric holographic imaging. Asymmetric SOIs can effectively address such limitations, with several exciting applications in various fields ranging from asymmetric data inscription in communications to dual side displays in smart mobile devices. Low-loss dielectric materials provide an excellent platform for realizing such exotic phenomena efficiently. In this paper, we demonstrate an asymmetric SOI-dependent transmission-type metasurface in the visible domain using hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) nanoresonators. The proposed design approach is equipped with an additional degree of freedom in designing bi-directional helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces by breaking the conventional limit imposed by the symmetric SOI in half employment of metasurfaces for one circular handedness. Two on-axis, distinct wavefronts are produced with high transmission efficiencies, demonstrating the concept of asymmetric wavefront generation in two antiparallel directions. Additionally, the CMOS compatibility of a-Si:H makes it a cost-effective alternative to gallium nitride (GaN) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) for visible light. The cost-effective fabrication and simplicity of the proposed design technique provide an excellent candidate for high-efficiency, multifunctional, and chip-integrated demonstration of various phenomena.

Solution processed MnBi-FeCo magnetic nanocomposites

Advanced permanent magnets based on rare-earth-free MnBi intermetallic alloys are considered energy-critical materials due to their applications in high temperature power electronics and green energy-related generators and motors, owing to their positive temperature coefficient of magnetic anisotropy. However, a direct method to achieve high saturation magnetization, without the significant loss of coercivity, is critical for attaining high performance MnBi magnets. Here, we demonstrate the synthesis and processing of magnetic nanocomposites, consisting of metal-redox MnBi nanoparticles and electro-spun FeCo nanowires. The composition ratio, processing dependent magnetism, and increased coercivity with increasing temperature, were studied in MnBi-FeCo nanocomposites. The magnetic performance of nanocomposites was dictated by interfacial coupling between magnetically hard MnBi and semi-hard FeCo nanowires, as well as the composition ratio and processing conditions. Solution processed MnBi-FeCo nanocomposites allow the potential for the development of high temperature and high performance rare-earth-free permanent magnets.

The III–V alloys and doping to tune the bandgap for solar cells and other optoelectronic devices has remained a hot topic of research for the last few *** the present article,the bandgap tuning and its influence on optical properties of In1-xGaxN/P,where(x=0.0,0.25,0.50,0.75,and 1.0)alloys are comprehensively analyzed by density functional theory based on full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method(FP-LAPW)and modified Becke and Johnson potentials(TB-mBJ).The direct bandgaps turn from 0.7 eV to 3.44 eV,and 1.41 eV to 2.32 eV for In1-xGaxN/P alloys,which increases their potentials for optoelectronic *** optical properties are discussed such as dielectric constants,refraction,absorption,optical conductivity,and *** light is polarized in the low energy region with minimum *** absorption and optical conduction are maxima in the visible region,and they are shifted into the ultraviolet region by Ga ***,static dielectric constant e1(0)is in line with the bandgap from Penn’s model.

An I/q mixer with an integrated differential quadrature all-pass filter for on-chip quadrature LO signal generation

A down-conversion in-phase/quadrature （l/q） mixer employing a folded-type topology, integrated with a passive differential quadrature all-pass filter （D-qAF）, in order to realize the final down-conversion stage of a 60 GHz receiver architecture is presented in this work. Instead of employing conventional quadrature generation techniques such as a polyphase filter or a frequency divider tbr the local oscillator （LO） of the mixer, a passive D-qAF structure is employed. Fabricated in a 65 nm CMOS process, the mixer exhibits a voltage gain of 7-8 dB in an intermediate frequency （IF） band ranging from 10 MHz-1.75 GHz. A fixed LO frequency of 12 GHz is used to down-convert a radio frequency （RF） band of 10.25-13.75 GHz. The mixer displays a third order input referred intercept point （IIP3） ranging from -8.75 to -7.37 dBm for a fixed IF frequency of 10 MHz and a minimum single-sideband noise figure （SSB-NF） of 11.3 dB. The mixer draws a current of 6 mA from a 1.2 V supply voltage dissipating a power of 7.2 mW.

Helicobacter pylori outer membrane protein q genotypes and their susceptibility to antiadhesive phytotherapeutic agents

OBJECTIVE： Helicobacter pylori is a Gram-negative organism. Its outer membrane protein q（Hop q） mediates host-pathogen interactions; Hop q genotypes 1 and 2 are found associating with gastroduodenal pathologies. The authors measured the anti-adhesion effects of the extracts of Abelmoschus esculentus, Zingiber officinale, Trachyspermum ammi, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Curcuma longa and Capsicum annum against Hop q genotypes and H. pylori cytotoxin-associated gene A（Cag A）.METHODS： DNA was extracted by polymerase chain reaction of the Hop q genotypes（i.e., type 1, type 2 and Cag A） from 115 H. pylori strains. The effect of the extracts from selected dietary ingredients was determined using a gastric adenocarcinoma cell line and a quantitative DNA fragmentation assay. The anti-adhesive effect of these extracts on H. pylori was tested using an anti-adhesion ***： C. annum, C. longa and A. esculentus showed prominent anti-adhesion effects with resultant values of 17.3% ± 2.9%, 14.6% ± 3.7%, 13.8% ± 3.6%, respectively, against Hop q type 1 and 13.1% ± 1.7%, 12.1% ± 2%, 11.1% ± 1.6%, respectively, against Hop q type 2. C. longa（93%）, C. annum（89%） and A. esculentus（75%） had better anti-adhesive activity against H. pylori with Hop q type 1 compared to Hop q type 2 with respective values of 70%, 64% and 51%. Extracts of C. annum（14.7% ± 4.1%）, A. esculentus（12.3% ± 4.1%） and Z. officinale（8.4% ± 2.8%） had an anti-adhesion effect against Cag A-positive H. pylori strains compared to Cag A-negative strains.
