Guided and Direct Wave Evaluation of Controlled Source Electromagnetic Survey Using Finite Element Method

Deep target hydrocarbon detection is still challenging and expensive. Direct hydrocarbon indicators (DHIs) in seismic data do not correspond to economical hydrocarbon exploration. Due to unreliability in seismic data for the detection of DHIs, new methods have been investigated. Marine controlled source electromagnet (MCSEM) or Sea bed logging (SBL) is new method for the detection of deep target hydrocarbon reservoir. Sea bed logging has also the potential to reduce the risks of DHIs in deep sea environment. Modelling of real sea environment helps to reduce the further risks before drilling the oil wells. 3D electromagnetic (EM) modelling of seabed logging requires more accurate methods for the detection of hydrocarbon reservoir. Finite element method (FEM) is chosen for the modelling of seabed logging to get more precise EM response from hydrocarbon reservoir below 4000 m from seabed. FEM allows to investigate the total electric and magnetic fields instead of scattered electric and magnetic fields, which shows accurate and precise resistivity contrast below the seabed. From the modelling results, It was investigated that Hz field shows higher magni- tude with 342% than the Ex field. It was observed that 0.125 Hz frequency can be able to show better resistivity contrast of Hz field (31.30%) and Ex field (16.49%) at target depth of 1000 m below seafloor for our proposed model. Hz and Ex field delineation was found to decrease as target depth increased from 1000 m to 4000 m. At the target depth of 4000 m, no field delineation response was seen from the current electromagnetic (EM) antenna used by the industry. New EM antenna has been used to see the EM response for deep target hydrocarbon detection. It was investigated that novel EM antenna shows better delineation at 4000 m target depth for Ex and Hz field up to 10.3% and 15.1% respectively. Novel EM antenna also shows better Hz phase response (128.4%) than the Ex phase response (38.3%) at the target depth of 4000 m

Electromagnetic Response Studies of the Antenna for Deep Water Deep Target CSEM Environments

The Controlled Source Electromagnetic Method (CSEM) is used for offshore hydrocarbon exploration. Hydrocarbon detection in seabed logging (SBL) is a very challenging task for deep hydrocarbon reservoirs. The electromagnetic field response of an antenna is unable to detect deep hydrocarbon reservoirs due to a weak electromagnetic signal response in the seabed logging environment. This work premise deals with the comparison of the electromagnetic signal strength of a new antenna with a straight antenna and the orientation of an antenna for deep target hydrocarbon exploration. Antenna position and orientation (Tx and Ty) was studied using Computer Simulation Technology software (CST) for deep targets in marine CSEM environments. The model area was assigned as (40 ′ 40 km) to replicate the real seabed environment. From the results, the new dipole antenna shows an 804% and 278% increase in electric and magnetic field strength than the straight antenna. An electric (E) and magnetic (H) field component study was done with and without the presence of a hydrocarbon reservoir. Ex and Hz field component responses with the new antenna at the1 kmtarget were measured in a deep water environment. It was analyzed that the antenna shows 53.10% (Ex) and 83.13% (Hz) field difference in deep water with and without a hydrocarbon reservoir at the30 mantenna position from the sea floor. From the antenna orientation results, it was observed that, the electric field Ex and magnetic field Hz responses decreased from 18% to 12% and 21% to 16%, respectively but was still able to detect the deep target hydrocarbon reservoir at the4 kmtarget depth. This EM antenna may open new frontiers for the oil and gas industry for deep target hydrocarbon detection (HC).

Outage Probability Analysis of Free Space Communication System Using Diversity Combining Techniques

Recently,free space optical(FSO)communication is gaining much attention towards the research *** reason for this attention is the promises of high data-rate,license-free deployment,and non-interfering *** can,however,give rise to major system difficulties concerning alignment and atmospheric *** is the degradation in the signal quality because of atmospheric channel impairments and *** worst effect is due to fog ***,Radio Frequency(RF)links are able to transmit the data in foggy conditions but not in *** overcome these issues related to both the FSO and RF links.A free space communication system(FSCS)is proposed,in which the hybrid technology is based on the individual FSO and RF *** is a capable solution to overcome the difficulties of the existing systems(FSO and RF)as well as to enhance the overall link reliability and *** this paper,FSCS is investigated in terms of performance throughput(i.e.,outage probability and bit-error-rate(BER))by implementing the receive diversity combining *** analysis of the outage probability of the proposed system along with the individual FSO and RF system is *** results are presented to support the *** is shown that the proposed system outperforms the individual FSO andRF system and gives a power gain of 3dB over a distinct number of receive antennas.

Silica has three major varieties of crystalline. Quartz is the main andabundant ingredient in the crust of our earth. While other varieties are formedby the heating of quartz. Silica quartz is a rich chemical structure containingenormous properties. Any chemical network or structure can be transformedinto a graph, where atoms become vertices and the bonds are converted toedges, between vertices. This makes a complex network easy to visualize towork on it. There are many concepts to work on chemical structures in termsof graph theory but the resolvability parameters of a graph are quite advanceand applicable topic. Resolvability parameters of a graph is a way to getting agraph into unique form, like each vertex or edge has a unique identification bymeans of some selected vertices, which depends on the distance of vertices andits pattern in a particular graph. We have dealt some resolvability parametersof SiO2 quartz. We computed the resolving set for quartz structure and itsvariants, wherein we proved that all the variants of resolvability parameters ofquartz structures are constant and do not depend on the order of the graph.

Influence of accelerated curing on the compressive strength of polymer-modified concrete

In recent building practice,rapid construction is one of the principal ***,in designing concrete structures,compressive strength is the most significant of all *** 3-d and 7-d compressive strength reflects the strengths at early phases,the ultimate strength is *** effort has been made in this study to develop mathematical models for predicting compressive strength of concrete incorporating ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA)at the later ***-Smirnov(KS)goodness-of-fit test was used to examine distribution of the *** compressive strength of EVA-modified concrete was studied by incorporating various concentrations of EVA as an admixture and by testing at ages of 28,56,90,120,210,and 365 *** accelerated compressive strength at 3.5 hours was considered as a reference strength on the basis of which all the specified strengths were predicted by means of linear regression *** on the results of KS goodness-of-fit test,it was concluded that KS test statistics value(D)in each case was lower than the critical value 0.521 for a significance level of 0.05,which demonstrated that the data was normally *** on the results of compressive strength test,it was concluded that the strength of EVA-modified specimens increased at all ages and the optimum dosage of EVA was achieved at 16%***,it was concluded that predicted compressive strength values lies within a 6%difference from the actual strength values for all the mixes,which indicates the practicability of the regression *** research work may help in understanding the role of EVA as a viable material in polymer-based cement composites.

研究地热储层裂隙岩体中的渗流传热过程对干热岩地热资源的开采具有重要的意义。本文以干热岩地热工程为背景,采用COMSOL Multiphysics数值模拟软件对地热储层单裂隙岩体中渗流传热机理进行了研究,并分析了流体注入速度和温度对岩体温度场的影响及其对干热岩地热工程的影响。研究发现流体参数对岩体温度场的影响主要体现在2个方面:一方面是对岩体温度场受扰动区域以及幅度的影响,另一方面是对岩体温度场达到稳态所需要时间的影响。流体注入速度的提升会降低系统的寿命和寿命期的出口法向总热量值,当考虑出口法向总热通量时,存在最佳流体注入速度,本研究中最佳流体注入速度为0.011 m/s。流体注入温度的提升会增加系统的寿命和系统的出口法向总热通量和总热量。研究为干热岩自热资源的开发与利用提供了理论依据,为工程运行参数的设计提供了参考依据。

【目的】通过分析毛棉苗期抗旱相关性状的数量性状位点(Quantitative trait locus,QTL),以期检测稳定的主效QTL,促进栽培品种抗旱性状遗传改良及提高抗旱育种效率。【方法】以四倍体野生种毛棉(Gossypium tomentosum)和陆地棉品种中棉所12(CCRI 12)的种间杂种F2及其F2:3家系为研究材料,用于基因型分型的F2有188个系,用于表型分型的F2:3家系有149个株系。分别在干旱胁迫和正常灌水2个环境下调查表型数据。采用复合区间作图法对F2:3家系苗期相关性状抗旱系数进行QTL定位。【结果】对苗期相关性状抗旱系数的QTL定位分析,共得到16个QTL,其中与株高、叶片数、叶绿素含量、脯氨酸含量、丙二醛含量抗旱系数相关的QTL分别有5个、1个、3个、3个、4个,分布在13条染色体上。来自毛棉的5个加性QTL分别为qSHDC-19-1、qSHDC-19-2、qSLNDC-5-1、qMDADC-24-1、qMDADC-24-2,其加性效应值为0.10~0.22,解释变异9.4%~25.8%。【结论】这些与抗旱相关的QTL有助于棉花抗旱分子标记辅助选择。

Reservoir Potential Assessment of the Tortonian-Calabrian Sediments from Offshore Makran(Southwest Pakistan)through a Multidisciplinary Approach

The Tortonian–Calabrian strata of Offshore Makran(Pakistan)is investigated for the purpose of reservoir *** stratigraphy and petrophysics indicate that the Neogene sediments have tight reservoir potential with porosities in the range of 3%–9%and 40%–50%water *** mineralogical cross plots indicate a mixed lithology with an abundance of dolomite and calcite,together with minor quartz content and *** seismic interpretation demonstrates medium–high amplitude reflection patterns,mud diapirs coupled with onlapping strata and the occurrence of bottom simulating reflectors(BSRs).The BSRs are characterized by diminished amplitude,low continuity and exhibiting acoustic blanking *** high formation pressure results indicate overpressure zones,suggesting the occurrence of overpressured shales in the Jal *** presence of mud diapirs and gas chimneys are the result of tectonic forces acting at the junction of the Arabian,Indian and Eurasian plates,whereas,BSRs prove the existence of gas charged sediments supporting the formation of mud diapirism in the *** is concluded that the high rates of sedimentation during the Neogene are likely to have contributed to the development of the high formation *** mud weights,casing policies,pore pressure transients and geophysical inversion studies will help alleviate drilling risks in future exploration strategies.
