Transition Metal Oxides have drawn significant attention due to their reversible chemical redox reaction and long-life *** agglomeration and shrinkage/expansion of transition metal oxides in the nanosize regime have a noticeable effect on their electrochemical *** in this work,mesoporous nanowires(NWs)with a typical composition of iron-nickel-cobalt ternary oxide(FNCO)are synthesized using a simple,facile and cost-effective hydrothermal process followed by furnace *** NWs are then extensively investigated as an electrode material for supercapacitor *** compare the electrochemical properties,nanowires of nickel-cobalt oxide(NCO),iron-cobalt oxide(FCO)and cobalt oxide(CO)were also produced by following the same *** FNCO NWs are found to overcome the shortcomings in the electrochemical energy storage devices by exhibiting higher values of specific capacitance(2197 Fg^(-1))and energy density(109 Whkg^(-1))at 1 Ag^(-1) current ***,the FNCO NWs also showed a cyclic charge/discharge stability of 96%even up to 20,000 ***,a FNCO//graphene asymmetric device,fabricated with FNCO NWs and graphene as positive and negative electrodes,respectively,which exhibit high energy density(47 Whkg^(-1)),power density(375 Wkg^(-1))and excellent capacitance retention(86%)after 15,000 cycles.

Seismic hazard analysis is gaining increased attention in the present era because of the catastrophic effects of *** always have as a goal to develop new techniques that will help forecast earthquakes before their reoccurrence. In this research,we have performed a shear failure experiment on rock samples with prefabricated cracks to simulate the process of plate movement that forms strike-slip faults. We studied the evolution law of the deformation field to simulate the shear failure experiment, and these results gave us a comprehensive understanding of the elaborate strain distribution law and its formation process with which to identify actual fault zones. We performed uniaxial compression tests on marble slabs with prefabricated double shear cracks to study the distribution and evolution of the deformation field during shear failure. Analysis of the strain field at different loading stages showed that with an increase in the load, the shear strain field initially changed to a disordered-style distribution. Further, the strain field was partially concentrated and finally completely concentrated near the crack and then distributed in the shape of a strip along the crack. We also computed coefficients of variation(CVs) for the physical quantities u, v, and exy, which varied with the load. The CV curves were found to correspond to the different loading stages. We found that at the uniform deformation stage, the CV value was small and changed slowly,whereas at the later nonuniform deformation stage, the CV value increased sharply and changed abruptly. Therefore, the precursor to a rock sample breakdown can be predicted by observing the variation characteristics of CV statistics. The correlation we found between our experimental and theoretical results revealed that our crack evolution and sample deformation results showed good coupling with seismic distribution characteristics near the San Andreas Fault.

Photocatalytic water splitting is an economical and sustainable pathway to use solar energy for large‐scale *** report a highly efficient noble‐metal‐free photocatalyst formed by integrating amorphous NiS with a CdS nanorods(NRs)/ZnS heterojunction material for photocatalytic H2production in water under visible light irradiation(?>420nm).The results show that the photocatalytic H2production rate reaches an optimal value of up to574μmol·h–1after the loading of NiS,which is more than38times higher than the catalytic activity of pure CdS *** average apparent quantum yield is^43.2%during5h of irradiation by monochromatic420nm *** present study demonstrates the advantage of integration strategies to form not only semiconductor heterojunctions but also photocatalyst‐cocatalyst interfaces to enhance the catalytic activity for photocatalytic H2production.

Field trials were conducted to evaluate the epidemiological factors of okra yellow vein mosaic virus (OYVMV). Four varieties of okra were subjected to screening and evaluation of the chemicals. The variety Saloni F1 was highly resistant while Subz Pari was moderately resistant. Diksha was the tolerant variety while Lush Green was moderately susceptible. The chemical Imidacloprid was most effective to control whitefly population and okra yellow vein mosaic virus (OYVMV). Correlation of environmental factors (maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity and rainfall) with percent plant infection of okra yellow vein mosaic virus (OYVMV) was also determined. There was a significant correlation between environment and disease severity.

The smart grid has enabled users to control their home energy more effectively and efficiently.A home energy management system(HEM)is a challenging task because this requires the most effective scheduling of intelligent home appliances to save ***,we presented a meta-heuristic-based HEM system that integrates the Greywolf Algorithm(GWA)and Harmony Search Algorithms(HSA).Moreover,a fusion initiated on HSA and GWA operators is used to optimize energy ***,many knapsacks are being utilized to ensure that peak-hour load usage for electricity customers does not surpass a certain *** has proven beneficial in achieving numerous objectives simultaneously,decreasing the peak-to-average ratio and power *** MATLAB simulations are cast-off to evaluate the routine of the anticipated method,Harmony GWA(HGWA).The simulations are for a multifamily housing complex outfitted with various cool *** simulation results indicate that GWA functions better regarding cost savings than *** reputes of PAR,HSA is significantly more effective than *** suggested method reduces costs for single and ten-house construction by up to 2200.3 PKR,as opposed to 503.4 in GWA,398.10 in HSA and 640.3 in *** suggested approach performed better than HSA and GWA in PAR *** single-family homes in HGWA,GWA and HSA,the reduction in PAR is 45.79%,21.92%and 20.54%,*** hybrid approach,however,performs better than the currently used nature-inspired techniques in terms of Cost and PAR.

Evaluation of Wheat Varietal Performance under Different Nitrogen Sources

Nitrogen fertilization plays a very important role for crop productivity. New developed wheat varieties need proper fertilization for improved crop productivity. The present study was carried out to quantify, the effects of nitrogen derived from urea and FYM on the four newly developed wheat varieties i.e. Siran-2009, Ata Habib, Janbaz-2009 and Pirsabak-2008 for yield improvement, quality and soil fertility status. The N treatments were control, 100% of the recommended nitrogen from urea as well as FYM, and 50% from each source. The experiment was carried out at New Developmental Farm, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agricultural University Peshawar Pakistan, during Rabi 2011-2012. Results of the data showed that Janbaz-2009 was more responsive to biological yield (11,011 kg·ha-1), grain yield (4339 kg·ha-1), and nitrogen use efficiency (14.8%), whereas Siran-2010 performed better for grain N contents (2.31%). Plots having both urea and FYM had improved biological yield (11,958 kg·ha-1), and grain yield (4901 kg·ha-1). Urea application had improved straw N contents (0.92%) in addition to Mix application of urea and FYM (0.93%). Mix application of both sources and sole FYM had higher grains N content (2.25%), whereas control plots in addition to mix application had improved nitrogen use efficiency (14.8%). Siran-2010 and Janbaz-2009 performed better in FYM and mix FYM and urea plots for most of the parameters. It was concluded from the experiment that Janbaz-2009 had improved yield and yield components, whereas Siran-2010 had improved the grain N content. Similarly, Mix application of FYM and urea had improved crop productivity, soil fertility and grains as well as straw N content. Thus wheat varieties Janbaz-2009 sown in mix FYM and urea is recommended for general cultivation in agro-climatic condition of Peshawar.

A Periglacial Palaeoenvionment in the Upper Carboniferous-Lower Permian Tobra Formation of the Salt Range,Pakistan

The Upper Carboniferous-Lower Permian （Upper Pennsylvanian-Asselian） Tobra Formation is exposed in the Salt and Trans Indus ranges of Pakistan. The formation exhibits an alluvial plain （alluvial fan-piedmont alluvial plain） facies association in the Salt Range and Khisor Range. In addition, a stream flow facies association is restricted to the eastern Salt Range. The alluvial plain facies association is comprised of clast-supported massive conglomerate （Gmc）, diamictite （Dm） facies, and massive sandstone （Sm） iithofacies whereas the stream flow-dominated alluvial plain facies association includes fine-grained sandstone and sUtstone （Fss）, fining upwards pebbly sandstone （Sf）, and massive mudstone （Fro） lithofacies. The lack of glacial signatures （particularly glacial grooves and striations） in the deposits in the Tobra Formation, which are, in contrast, present in their time-equivalent and palaeogeographically nearby strata of the Arabian peninsula, e.g. the Al Khlata Formation of Oman and Unayzah B member of the Sandi Arabia, suggests a pro-to periglacial, i.e. glaciofluvial depositional setting for the Tobra Formation. The sedimentology of the Tobra Formation attests that the Salt Range, Pakistan, occupied a palaeogeographic position just beyond the maximum glacial extent during Upper Pennsylvanian-Asselian time.
