Articulating CO_(2)emissions limiting roles of nuclear energy and ICT under the EKC hypothesis:An application of non-parametric MMQR approach

Limiting toxic elements from being exposed to the world’s atmosphere has been the biggest challenge among environmental researchers and *** change conferences have been counselling the global economies to take serious steps toward profound decarbonization to keep the universal temperature below 1.5*** this context,the direction of environmental research has changed,and researchers are more focused on tracing how to limit pollution and keep it below the threshold *** this milieu,nuclear energy can make a big difference along with other alternatives to fossil ***,we extend the extant literature by exploring the dynamic effects of atomic energy and ICT on carbon emissions(CO_(2))for top nuclear energy countries using data from 1990 to *** obtain robust findings,we deploy a novel non-parametric econometric approach(i.e.,method of moments quantile regression).The results suggest that nuclear energy is a sustainable alternative to historical fossil fuel as it curbs CO_(2)emissions in the lower,middle,and upper ***,our findings corroborate that ICT penetration through the internet,mobile and telephone plays a vital role in improving environmental ***,we unveil that linear economic growth jeopardizes the environment by unleashing harmful *** findings also support the existence of the Environmental Kuznets Curve(EKC)hypothesis by confirming the negative association between the polynomial economic growth(squared-GDP)and CO_(2)emissions among the designated ***,the Granger causality test reaffirms the causal nexus among selected series that runs from nuclear energy and technological innovation to CO_(2)emissions,indicating that any policy shock in both series leads to environmental ***,therefore,advocate that the designated territories keep enriching their energy baskets with nuclear energy and boost ICT penetration to achieve a 100%decoupling of economic growth from pollution.

Automatic Detection of Nephrops Norvegicus Burrows from Underwater Imagery Using Deep Learning

The Norway lobster,Nephrops norvegicus,is one of the main commercial crustacean fisheries in *** abundance of Nephrops norvegicus stocks is assessed based on identifying and counting the burrows where they live from underwater videos collected by camera systems mounted on *** Spanish Oceanographic Institute(IEO)andMarine Institute Ireland(MIIreland)conducts annual underwater television surveys(UWTV)to estimate the total abundance of Nephrops within the specified area,with a coefficient of variation(CV)or relative standard error of less than 20%.Currently,the identification and counting of the Nephrops burrows are carried out manually by the marine *** is quite a time-consuming *** a solution,we propose an automated system based on deep neural networks that automatically detects and counts the Nephrops burrows in video footage with high *** proposed system introduces a deep-learning-based automated way to identify and classify the Nephrops *** research work uses the current state-of-the-art Faster RCNN models Inceptionv2 and MobileNetv2 for object detection and *** conduct experiments on two data sets,namely,the Smalls Nephrops survey(FU 22)and Cadiz Nephrops survey(FU 30),collected by Marine Institute Ireland and Spanish Oceanographic Institute,*** the results,we observe that the Inception model achieved a higher precision and recall rate than *** best mean Average Precision(mAP)recorded by the Inception model is 81.61%compared to MobileNet,which achieves the best mAP of 75.12%.

We employ ab-initio calculations to analyze the mechanical, electronic, optical and also thermoelectric properties associated with AGeO3（A = Ca, Sr） compounds. The full-potential linearized augmented plane wave（FP-LAPW） technique in the generalized gradient approximation（GGA-PBEsol） and the lately designed Tran-Blaha-modified Becke-Johnson exchange potential are utilized to examine the mechanical and optoelectronic properties respectively. To explore the thermoelectric quality, we use the semi-classical Boltzmann transport theory. The particular structural stabilities regarding AGeO3（A = Ca, Sr） materials are validated simply by computations from the elastic constants. The energy band structural framework and the density of states are displayed to indicate indirect bandgap under ambient conditions. The particular computed optical attributes that reveal prospective optoelectronic applications are usually elucidated simply by studying ε1（0） and also Eg, which can be connected by means of Penn＇s design. Therefore, the studied materials will also be ideal for thermoelectric products to understand helpful option for alternative energy resources.

Software testing is an important and cost intensive activity in software *** major contribution in cost is due to test case ***-based testing is an approach in which test cases are derivative from requirements without considering the implementation’s internal ***-based testing includes functional and nonfunctional *** objective of this study is to explore the approaches that generate test cases from requirements.A systematic literature review based on two research questions and extensive quality assessment criteria includes *** study identies 30 primary studies from 410 studies spanned from 2000 to *** review’s nding shows that 53%of journal papers,42%of conference papers,and 5%of book chapters’address requirementsbased *** of the studies use UML,activity,and use case diagrams for test case generation from *** of the signicant lessons learned is that most software testing errors are traced back to errors in natural language requirements.A substantial amount of work focuses on UML diagrams for test case generations,which cannot capture all the system’s developed ***,there is a lack of UML-based models that can generate test cases from natural language requirements by rening them in *** criteria indicate how efciently the testing has been performed 12.37%of studies use requirements coverage,20%of studies cover path coverage,and 17%study basic coverage.

Multiple Deep-Belief-Network-Based Spectral-Spatial Classification of Hyperspectral Images

A deep-learning-based feature extraction has recently been proposed for HyperSpectral Images(HSI)classification. A Deep Belief Network(DBN), as part of deep learning, has been used in HSI classification for deep and abstract feature extraction. However, DBN has to simultaneously deal with hundreds of features from the HSI hyper-cube, which results into complexity and leads to limited feature abstraction and performance in the presence of limited training data. Moreover, a dimensional-reduction-based solution to this issue results in the loss of valuable spectral information, thereby affecting classification performance. To address the issue, this paper presents a Spectral-Adaptive Segmented DBN(SAS-DBN) for spectral-spatial HSI classification that exploits the deep abstract features by segmenting the original spectral bands into small sets/groups of related spectral bands and processing each group separately by using local DBNs. Furthermore, spatial features are also incorporated by first applying hyper-segmentation on the HSI. These results improved data abstraction with reduced complexity and enhanced the performance of HSI classification. Local application of DBN-based feature extraction to each group of bands reduces the computational complexity and results in better feature extraction improving classification accuracy. In general, exploiting spectral features effectively through a segmented-DBN process and spatial features through hyper-segmentation and integration of spectral and spatial features for HSI classification has a major effect on the performance of HSI classification. Experimental evaluation of the proposed technique on well-known HSI standard data sets with different contexts and resolutions establishes the efficacy of the proposed techniques,wherein the results are comparable to several recently proposed HSI classification techniques.

Water is essential for the growth period of crops;however,water unavailability badly affects the growth and physiological attributes of crops,which considerably reduced the yield and yield components in ***,a pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of foliar phosphorus(P)on morphological,gas exchange,biochemical traits,and phosphorus use efficiency(PUE)of maize(Zea mays L.)hybrids grown under normal as well as water deficit situations at the Department of Agronomy,University of Agriculture Faisalabad,Pakistan in *** different treatments(control and P@8 kg ha^(−1))and four hybrids(Hycorn,31P41,65625,and 32B33)of maize were tested by using a randomized complete block design(RCBD)with three *** showed that the water stress caused a remarkable decline in total soluble protein(9.7%),photosynthetic rate(9.4%)and transpiration rate(13.4%),stomatal conductance(10.2%),and internal CO_(2)rate(20.4%)comparative to well-watered *** increase of 37.1%,36.8%,and 24.5%were recorded for proline,total soluble sugar,and total free amino acid,***,foliar P application minimized the negative impact of drought by improving plant growth,physio-biochemical attributes,and PUE in maize plants under water stress *** the hybrids tested,the hybrid 6525 performed better both under stress and non-stress *** outcomes confirmed that the exogenous application of P improved drought stress tolerance by modulating growth,physio-biochemical attributes,and PUE of maize hybrids.

The judicious use and management of natural resources is vital to achieve sustainable *** and water are prime natural resources,and their depletion and degradation can lead to serious threats like land *** subsidence is a phenomenon of the alteration of elevation at a point on the earth through the sinking of the *** occurs when the earth’s surface loses its *** major causes of land subsidence include groundwater extraction,mining,construction overload,and other similar factors that increase pressure on the surface and eventually subsidize the *** centers with excessive groundwater extraction and infrastructure development are at a high risk of ***,the second-largest city in Pakistan,is undergoing an enormous increase in population density,uncontrolled urbanization with very large-scale construction projects,and intensive groundwater extraction which are responsible for subsidence directly or ***,studies on groundwater status and unplanned urban appraisals have seriously urged monitoring of the subsidence in ***,we used freely available Sentinel-1 data for one year(from August 2018 to August 2019),with a high spatial and temporal resolution,to monitor subsidence in *** data were processed using the SNAP/Sta MPS approach for Persistent Scatterer Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar(PSI)analysis,which is an advanced InSAR *** displacement velocity map from InSAR processing shows a significant land deformation in the area with values ranging from-114 to 15 mm yr^(-1).Along with the Sentinel-1 data,we also used supplementary data obtained from various government agencies of Pakistan to study the land cover map,transportation network and waterways of Lahore,soil types,population density,and field points for assessing the results and understanding the roles of various factors in the occurrence of uplift or subsidence.A strong correlation was established between sub
