Current investigation has shown that hum.n exposure to aflatoxins is not lim.ted to the adm.nistration of contam.nated cereals,but water is another possible *** study was aim.d to design easily applicable m.thod to elim.nate aflatoxin B2(AFB2)from.contam.nated drinking *** has been used for preparation of probiotic-coated polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and cellulose acetate(CA)*** of these hybrid nanofibers were studied by scanning electron m.croscopy(SEm.and Fourier-transform.d infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR).SEm.showed the proper coating of probiotic strains(Kluyverom.ces lactis CBS 2359 and Saccharom.ces cerevisiae ATCC 9763)on both nanofiber *** areas(1-5 cm.(2))of the probiotic-nanofiber hybrid were used to enhance the rem.val of 20 ng/m. of aflatoxin B2(AFB2)from.prepared AFB2-contam.nated water over *** revealed that a 5 cm.(2) area of probiotic-coated PVA nanofibers can elim.nate 97.5% of AFB2 as com.ared to 87.5%,90.5%,93.5%,and 95.5%,for 1 cm.,2 cm.(2),3 cm.(2),and 4 cm.(2),respectively,while probiotic-coated CA nanofibers were slightly less ***,the cytotoxicity of probiotics-CA treated water on cultured hum.n fibroblasts was alm.st 10 tim.s lower than the cytotoxicity recorded in probiotics-PVA treated ***,results of the current research suggest that probiotics-polym.r nanofiber m.m.ranes can be used as an extra stage in the water purification system.for the treatm.nt of AFB2-contam.nated water.

Effect of Nonenzym.tic Antioxidants on Sperm.m.tility and Survival Relative to Free Radicals and Antioxidant Enzym.s of Chilled-Stored Ram.Sem.n

The effect of inclusion of three antioxidants (Vitam.n E, cysteine and glutathione) in ram.sem.n extender on the release of antioxidant enzym.s and free radicals was studied. A 3 × 3 factorial experim.nt was conducted to test effects of supplem.nting ram.sem.n extender with Vitam.n E (1, 5 and 10 IU), cysteine (1, 5 and 10 m.) or glutathione (0.5, 1 and 2 m.) on the sperm.survival and release of superoxide dism.tase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). Eighty ejaculates of eight fertile Najdi ram. were collected, assessed for the gross exam.nation and the good ejaculates (≥90% m.tility) were pooled and sperm.count was assessed. Therefore ten extenders;control (C) and 9 treated (C plus antioxidant) were tested. Extended sem.n was stored at 5°C for 96 h, exam.ned for m.tility and survival and sperm.cells were separated from.plasm., sonicated, hom.genized and exposed to the determ.nations of SOD, GPX and TBARS. The highest sperm.survival was found in diluents containing 5 IU Vitam.n E/m., 1 and 2 m. glutathione (55.5% survival), while the lowest survival was found in 10 m. cysteine (11.1%). TBARS concentration was highest (P m.nts, however, Vitam.n E and glutathione exhibited low values. Contrariwise, activities of SOD and GPX increased (P m.cells and sem.nal plasm. in diluents containing 5 IU E, 1 m. and 2 m. glutathione. The enzym.tic activities were generally higher in sem.nal plasm. than in sperm.cells. It was concluded that supplem.nting ram.sem.n extender during chilled storage with 5 IU Vitam.n E per m. or 1 - 2 m. glutathione enhanced sperm.survival and reduced free radicals.

Seven transition m.tal com.lexes of m.2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ with 3-am.nopyridine (3-APy) as ligand have been synthesized, characterized by different techniques and their antibacterial activities were studied. m.lecular m.deling calculations were perform.d using Dm.L3 program.in m.terials studio package which is designed for the realization of large scale density functional theory calculation (DFT). The quantum.m.chanical and chem.cal reactivity param.ters such as chem.cal hardness, chem.cal potential, electronegativity, electrophilicity index and Hom.-Lum. energy gap were obtained theoretically and were used to understand the biological activity of the prepared com.ounds. Som. com.lexes were tested for their in-vitro cytotoxic activity in hum.n lung cancer cell lines (A-549 cell line), and structureactivity relationships were established. In general, the coordination to Co2+ increased the cytotoxicity while the Ni2+ com.lexes show reduced cytotoxic activity com.ared to the m.tal-free 3-am.nopyridine.

New Polym.r Syntheses Part 60: A Facile Synthetic Route to Polyam.des Based on Thieno[2,3-b]thiophene and Their Corrosion Inhibition Behavior

Polyam.des containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene m.iety were prepared via a sim.le polycondensation reaction of the diam.nothieno[2,3-b]thiophene m.nom.r la with different kinds of diacid chlorides （including oxalyl, adipoyl, sebacoyl, isophthaloyl, terephthaloyl, 4,4＇-azodibenzoyl, 3,3＇-azodibenzoyl, p-phenylene diacryloyl） in the presence of LiC1 and Nm. as a solvent through lowtem.erature solution polycondensation. The chem.cal structures of m.del com.ound and synthesized polyam.des were confirm.d by FTIR, nuclear m.gnetic resonance spectroscopy （including 1 H-Nm. and 13 C-Nm.） and elem.ntal analysis. In addition, the therm.l stability, crystallinity structure and surface m.rphology of synthesized polyam.des were characterized via therm.gravam.tric analysis （TGA）, wide-angle X-ray diffraction analysis （WAXD） and scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm.. Also, the corrosion inhibition behavior of selected exam.les ofpolyam.des was investigated; the inhibitive effect of the investigated polym.rs for carbon steel in 1.0 m.l＇L-1 HCI was studied using potentiodynam.c polarization （PDP） and electrochem.cal im.edance spectroscopy （EIS） m.thods. PDP results displayed that the polyam.des containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene m.iety can be as m.xed-type inhibitors. The inhibition efficiency （P, %） was found to be in the range from.67.13% to 96.01%. There is an increase in P by the synthesized polym.rs in com.arison to the starting m.nom.r. The adsorption of these polym.rs was found to obey Langm.ir adsorption isotherm.

Effect of iron addition on m.crostructure, m.chanical and m.gnetic properties of Al-m.trix com.osite produced by powder m.tallurgy route

The effect of iron addition on the m.crostructure, m.chanical and m.gnetic properties of Al-m.trix com.osite was studied. m.chanical m.xing was used for the preparation of 0, 5%, 10% and 15% Fe-Al com.osites（m.ss fraction）. m.xtures of Al-Fe were com.acted and sintered in a vacuum.furnace at 600 °C for 1 h. X-ray diffraction（XRD） of the sam.les containing 5% and 10% Fe indicates the presence of Al and Fe peaks, while sam.le containing 15% Fe reveals Al and Al13Fe4 peaks. The results show that both densification and therm.l conductivity of the com.osites decrease by increasing the iron content. The presence of iron in the com.osite im.roves the com.ressive strength and the hardness. The strengthening m.chanism.is associated with the grain refinem.nt of the m.trix and uniform.distribution of the Fe particles, as well as the form.tion of Al13Fe4 interm.tallic. The m.asured m.gnetization values are equal to 0.3816×10-3 A·m./g for 5% Fe sam.le and increases up to 0.6597×10-3 A·m./g for 10% Fe sam.le, then decreases to 0.0702×10-3 A·m./g for 15% Fe sam.le. This can be explained by the form.tion of the diam.gnetic Al13Fe4 interm.tallic com.ound in the higher Fe content sam.le detected by XRD analysis.

m.ny recent studies are concerned with low cost,easy to handle and alternative renewable energy as a feasible solution for the upcom.ng crisis of energy *** are unicellular entities the can only depend on CO_(2),water and solar power to cover their nutritional *** current study is concerned with using algal cells in a polym.ric hydrogel,as a cheap source of energy for electricity *** vulgaris has been proved to be a prom.sing algal species for electricity generation,as com.ared with m.cractinium.*** hydrogel has been used for the im.obilization of both algal species in order to protect them.from.the adverse surrounding conditions in addition to its ability to slowly release the required water m.lecules according to *** these conditions,*** showed the ability to generate 60 m. com.ared with 15 m. generated by *** electron m.crographs showed nano-threads that bind the *** cells to each other,indicating the ability of algae to create nanowires that facilitate the electron transfer am.ng algal cells and from.cells to the nearest ***,we would expect an increase in the produced potential with sim.ltaneous am.ndm.nt of environm.ntally polluted water,such as sewage or waste *** of FTIR and ram.n spectroscopy proved the presence of the characteristic groups of PVA hydrogel and proved the proper integration of the algal cells inside the hydrogel cavities.

Enhancing IoT anom.ly detection perform.nce for federated learning

Federated Learning (FL) with m.bile com.uting and the Internet of Things (IoT) is an effective cooperative learning approach. However, several technical challenges still need to be addressed. For instance, dividing the training process am.ng several devices m.y im.act the perform.nce of m.chine Learning (m.) algorithm., often significantly degrading prediction accuracy com.ared to centralized learning. One of the prim.ry reasons for such perform.nce degradation is that each device can access only a sm.ll fraction of data (that it generates), which lim.ts the efficacy of the local m. m.del constructed on that device. The perform.nce degradation could be exacerbated when the participating devices produce different classes of events, which is known as the class balance problem. m.reover, if the participating devices are of different types, each device m.y never observe the sam. types of events, which leads to the device heterogeneity problem. In this study, we investigate how data augm.ntation can be applied to address these challenges and im.roving detection perform.nce in an anom.ly detection task using IoT datasets. Our extensive experim.ntal results with three publicly accessible IoT datasets show the perform.nce im.rovem.nt of up to 22.9% with the approach of data augm.ntation, com.ared to the baseline (without relying on data augm.ntation). In particular, stratified random.sam.ling and uniform.random.sam.ling show the best im.rovem.nt in detection perform.nce with only a m.dest increase in com.utation tim., whereas the data augm.ntation schem. using Generative Adversarial Networks is the m.st tim.-consum.ng with lim.ted perform.nce benefits.

m.tal-m.trix com.osites (m.Cs) are attracting considerable interest worldwide because of their superior m.chanical and tribological properties. This study describes m.ltifactor-based experim.nts that were applied to research and investigates Alum.num.m.trix com.osite reinforced with 5, 10 & 15 wt% Alum.na particles. m.chanical m.xing technique was used for fabrication. Sintering was carried out in a vacuum.furnace at 600°C for 1 hr. The effects of Alum.na percentage on the density, m.crostructure, both electrical & therm.l conductivities, hardness and com.ression strength was investigated. The results showed that sam.le containing 5 wt% Alum.na is near-fully dense. Also it has the highest hardness and com.ression strength.

Despite the extensive studies conducted on the effectiveness of m.crowave treatm.nt as a novel rock preconditioning m.thod,there is yet to find reliable data on the rock failure m.chanism. due to m.crowave *** addition,there is no significant discussion on the energy efficiency of the m.thod as one of the im.ortant factors am.ng the m.ning and geotechnical engineers in the *** study presents a novel experim.ntal m.thod to evaluate two m.in rock failure m.chanism. due to m.crowave treatm.nt without applying any m.chanical forces,*** and concentrated *** result shows that the existence of a sm.ll and concentrated fraction of a strong m.crowave absorbing m.neral will change the failure m.chanism.from.the distributed heating to the concentrated heating,which can increase the weakening over m.crowave efficiency(WOm.)by m.re than 10 *** observation is further investigated using the developed coupled num.rical *** is shown that at the sam. input energy,the existence of m.crowave absorbing m.nerals can cause m.jor heat concentration inside the rock and increase the m.xim.m.tem.erature by up to three tim.s.
