Unusual head t.auma is rare wit. various mechanisms of occurrence. t.e injuries can be similar t. t.ose of road accident. but.somet.mes wit. significant.complexit.es. t.e object.ve was t. det.rmine t.e frequency of t.is pat.ology in our pract.ce, describe t.e different.mechanisms and report.t.e craniocerebral lesions caused by t.is t.pe of t.auma. Mat.rials and Met.od: t.is was a descript.ve st.dy wit. ret.ospect.ve collect.on spread over a period of 3 years. Aft.r select.ng t.e files, t.e pat.ent. and/or t.eir companions were cont.ct.d by t.lephone t. inquire about.t.em and t.en ret.rned t. t.e consult.t.on for reassessment. Disease hist.ry and informat.on were obt.ined from pat.ent.’ medical records. Result. t.e frequency of t.is pat.ology was 1.78% and his incidence was 0.4 cases per mont.. t.e average age of t.e pat.ent. was 13.47 years. All t.e vict.ms were male. 41.17% of pat.ent. were in school. t.e mechanisms of t.auma were t.e hoof blow 47.1%, t.e horn blow 29.4% and t.e st.ne blow 11.7% respect.vely. 23.5% of pat.ent. were confused and 11.7% children were in coma. One pat.ent.present.d an anisocoria. t.e mot.r deficit.was present.in 5 cases. Ct.scan made it.possible t. highlight.a skull depressing fract.re 58.8% and confirm a craniocerebral wound in 35.3%. t.e average t.me bet.een pat.ent.admission t. hospit.l and complet.on of surgery was 24.5 hours. t.e surgery had consist.d of t.e t.imming of cranio-cerebral wounds, explorat.on, duroplast. and lift.ng of skull depressing fract.re. Aft.r 15 mont.s of follow-up, t.e evolut.on was favorable in 53.3%, t.e morbidit. was 33.4% and t.e mort.lit. 17.6%. Conclusion: t.ese are rare but.serious condit.ons because t.ey are fat.l and disabling. An early and mult.disciplinary management.can hope t. have a good favorable.

Introduction: Upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy is an examination that involves exploring the upper part of the digestive tract using an endoscope. Our study was aimed to evaluate the practice of Upper GI endoscopy at the mother-child hospital in Mali. Patients and Methods: This was a descriptive retrospective study on reports of Upper GI endoscopy results in the digestive endoscopy unit at the mother-child hospital in Bamako from January to December 2018. Results: Endoscopy was performed in 465 patients including 231 males and 234 females. The sex ratio was 0.98. Patients were aged 46.69 years old on average with the extremes of 8 and 90 years old. Epigastralgia was the main referral in 50.5%. Endoscopy was normal in 24.7%. The main diagnostics were duodenogastric reflux in 32.5% and gastritis in 14.4%. Conclusion: t.le="font.family:Verdana;">t.e pract.ce of Upper GI endoscopy at.t.e mot.er-child hospit.l in Mali has allowed t.e explorat.on of t.e upper digest.ve t.act.t. cont.ibut. t. t.e diagnosis of esogast.oduodenal lesions.

Infect.on wit. t.e defect.ve hepat.t.s D virus (HDV) co-infect. or superinfect. a pat.ent.carrying hepat.t.s B virus (HBV). Delt. virus infect.on is relat.vely common. t.e seriousness of infect.on wit. t.e hepat.t.s D virus (HDV), a virus defect.ve in a pat.ent.carrying t.e hepat.t.s B virus (HBV), lies in it. aggravat.ng effect.on t.e associat.d viral hepat.t.s B. Our aim was t. st.dy t.e serological profile of HDV in HBsAg-posit.ve pat.ent.. As t.is st.dy was fragment.ry, we init.at.d t.is st.dy wit. t.e aim of invest.gat.ng t.e serological profile of HDV in HBsAg-posit.ve pat.ent.. t.is was a descript.ve and analyt.cal cross-sect.onal st.dy t.at.ran from March 2019 t. February 2020, a 12-mont. period. It.focused on t.e populat.on of pat.ent. seen and screened posit.ve for HBsAg. We obt.ined a frequency of 10%. t.e mean age of our pat.ent. was 41.8 ± 13.09 years. t.e sex rat.o was 4.5. VHD RNA was det.ct.d in 50% of pat.ent.. In 100% of cases, t.e presence of VHD RNA was associat.d wit. advanced fibrosis according t. t.e APRI score, but.wit.out.any st.t.st.cally significant.link. All HBV-infect.d pat.ent. should be screened for ant.-HDV Ac. HDV infect.on leads t. rapid progression t. complicat.ons of liver disease.

In Mali, cholest.at.ma surgery remains a challenge due t. t.e limit.d number of ot.logical pract.t.oners, and t.e low socio-economic level of pat.ent. reflect.ng t.e difficult.es in performing Ct.or MRI for post.operat.ve follow-up. We t.erefore init.at.d t.is work wit. t.e object.ve of analyzing, t.rough a broad bibliographic review, t.e clinical, paraclinical, t.pographical, t.erapeut.c and progressive aspect. of a series of ear cholest.at.ma. Mat.rials and Met.od: t.is was a ret.ospect.ve and prospect.ve, descript.ve st.dy t.at.t.ok place in t.e ENt.and head and neck surgery depart.ent.of t.e Gabriel t.uré Universit. Hospit.l over 36 mont.s from November 2020 t. Oct.ber 2023. t.ese were pat.ent. admit.ed t. t.e depart.ent.for chronic cholest.mat.us ot.t.s media. Result. In t.t.l, we collect.d 34 files of pat.ent. admit.ed for cholest.at.ma. t.is represent.d 9% of cases compared t. all ot.logical surgeries carried out.during t.e same period, i.e. 362 cases. t.e average age of our pat.ent. was 35.31 years, wit. ext.emes ranging from 7 years t. 80 years, t.ere were 24 men and 10 women, i.e. a M/F rat.o of 2.4. t.e average t.me t. diagnosis was 7 years. t.e main funct.onal signs were dominat.d by chronic fet.d purulent.ot.rrhea associat.d wit. hypoacusis in 94.6% of cases. One case of meningeal complicat.on and t.ree cases of cerebral empyema were report.d. Clinically, a post.ro-superior and marginal t.mpanic perforat.on was observed in 53%, a ret.act.on pocket.in 5.9%, t.e sent.nel polyp in 9%, and a non-marginal t.mpanic perforat.on in 32%. Pure-t.ne audiomet.y performed preoperat.vely for all pat.ent. showed conduct.ve hearing loss in 83%. In 82% of cases we creat.d a recess wit. t.e creat.on of a mini box. An ossiculoplast. was performed immediat.ly wit. fragment. of cart.lage. t.e post.perat.ve course found t.e disappearance of ot.rrhea (88.23%), t.e persist.nce of ot.rrhea in one case, t.o cases of facial paralysis, and one case of t.nnit.s. In our cont.xt. urinary bilharzia is common, and bladder t.mors arouse part.cular int.rest.in t.e field of urological oncology, because of t.eir frequency, t.eir diagnosis, t.eir difficult. in management.and t.eir hist.logical part.cularit.. t.e object.ve of our work was t. st.dy t.e epidemiological, clinical and t.erapeut.c aspect. of bladder t.mors. Mat.rials and Met.ods: t.is is a cross-sect.onal, descript.ve st.dy wit. a ret.ospect.ve and prospect.ve collect.on t.at.t.ok place over 3 years from January 1, 2020 t. December 31, 2022. Result.: We ident.fied 316 cases of bladder t.mors during t.is period. Bladder t.mors are a common pat.ology represent.ng 35.95% of all hospit.lized pat.ent., and occupying t.e 1st.rank of t.mors in urology in t.e Urology Depart.ent.of t.e Pr Bocar Sidy Sall Universit. Hospit.l in Kat.. Bladder t.mors were more common in men wit. 56.33%. t.e average age of our pat.ent. was 50 years ± 25.8 years and t.e ext.eme ages were 20 and 87 years. Urinary schist.somiasis, considered a predisposing fact.r, was found in 66.78% of cases in our pat.ent. as a hist.ry. t.ansuret.ral resect.on of t.e bladder was performed in 100% of our pat.ent., nephrost.my in 1.90% of cases, uret.rost.my in 1.58% of cases, Bricker t.pe urinary diversion in 1.27% of cases, and a neobladder in 0.32% of cases. Squamous cell carcinoma is t.e dominant.hist.logical t.pe (88.29%). t.e post.perat.ve out.ome was 99% favorable aft.r resect.on. Conclusion: Bladder t.mors were mainly t.mors infilt.at.ng t.e bladder muscle. t.e main risk fact.r was urinary bilharzia. Squamous cell carcinoma is t.e most.common hist.logical t.pe wit. a diagnost.c delay, t.us limit.ng radical t.eat.ent.aft.r resect.on of t.e bladder t.mor.

In order t. improve performance, and t.e qualit. of care, and t. ident.fy common pat.ologies in t.e surgical depart.ent. we undert.ok a ret.ospect.ve st.dy on surgical act.vit.es from January 2009 t. December 2010. At.t.e end of t.is st.dy, out.of 474 men and 187 women (equal sex rat.o 2.53);we were able t. det.rmine t.e frequency of surgical pat.ologies. Farmers, housewives and pupils/st.dent. were t.e most.represent.d wit. 25.9% respect.vely;20% and 13.3%. t.e most.frequent.y observed pat.ologies were wall hernia (44.8%), prost.t. adenoma (12%) and acut. appendicit.s (10.5%). t.e average lengt. of hospit.lizat.on was 3.43 days. Infect.ous complicat.ons affect.d 25 pat.ent. (3.8% of cases) and a deat. rat. of 0.45% (i.e. 3 pat.ent.). t.e average cost.of care was 53,500 FCFA. Indeed, t.e realit. of surgical pract.ce in healt. cent.rs was not.t.e same because of t.e level of skills of pract.cing surgeons.
