Review:Proteomic technology for biomarker profiling in cancer: an update

＜正＞Background: Therapeutic management and prevention of most solid tumors has been hampered by the lack of reliable biomarkers for early detection and treatment monitoring. Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma （HNSCC）, which represents the sixth most common cause of cancer deaths worldwide, is no exception. HNSCC development and progression is controlled by a complex interaction between the host, tumor cells, and tumor surrounding microenvironment supporting that a combination of markers is needed to identify a clinically useful biomarkers for early detection. In this presentation, I will summarize a comprehensive proteomic study for biomarker discovery using serum from mice bearing surgical specimens from patients with invasive and non - invasive HNSCC, as well as from conditioned cell culture medium from cancer cells isolated from matched tissues. The clinical implication of validated biomarkers will be ***: Oral squamous cell carcinomas, with distinct invasive phenotypes, and adjacent normal tissue were resected from human patients, subjected to microdissection to separate normal from cancer tissues and then transplanted orthotopic into tongues of RAG - 2/y（c） mice or used to establish matched cell lines. After a 20% weight loss, the mice were sacrificed by exsanguinations. Two distinct proteomic protocols were used to analyze the mouse serum. The first involved albumin depletion followed by two - dimensional gel electrophoresis and MALDI. The second arm utilized the same albumin depletion followed by multidimensional - protein - information - technology （ESI - LC and MS/MS）. The top candidate proteins, which were differentially expressed in the cancer bearing mice compared to matched controls were then validated by ELISA, Western blot and immunoconfocal assays, and immuno-histochemistry using serums versus cancer tissues and matched cancer cell lines. The progress in the understanding of cancer progression and early detection has been slow and frustrating due to the complex multifactorial nature and heterogeneity of the cancer syndrome. To date, no effective treatment is available for advanced cancers, which remain a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Clearly, there is urgent need to unravel novel biomarkers for early detection. Most of the functional information of the cancer-associated genes resides in the proteome. The later is an exceptionally complex biological system involving several proteins that function through posttranslational modifications and dynamic inter-molecular collisions with partners. These protein complexes can be regulated by signals emanating from cancer cells, their sur-rounding tissue microenvironment, and/or from the host. Some proteins are secreted and/or cleaved into the extracellular milieu and may represent valuable serum biomarkers for diagnosis purpose. It is estimated that the cancer proteome may include over 1.5 million proteins as a result of posttranslational processing and modifications. Such complexity clearly highlights the need for ultra-high resolution proteomic technology for robust quantitative protein measurements and data acquisition. This review is to update the current research efforts in high-resolution proteomic technology for discovery and monitoring cancer biomarkers.

Project portfolio management is a major challenge for some *** most organizations,there are a large number of projects active at the same time,some not necessarily delivering value or not aligned with their strategic *** universities face a lot of uncertainties when selecting and prioritizing the projects that make up their *** addition,the achievement of those who are aligned with the strategy of the university becomes a great *** to ensure good project portfolio management,the implementation of selection and prioritization methods and processes becomes *** the project portfolio management to be effective,it is necessary to establish a structured method adapted to the needs and strategy of the *** this context,this paper proposes a method for selecting and prioritizing projects within the framework of the portfolio management dedicated to universities,which can promote harmony between the university’s strategy,the needs and the priority objectives for enable better *** method is based on the processes of the COBIT 5 good practice framework,and on the multi-criteria decision-making methods AHP,TOPSIS and the WSM technique,thus,it proposes seven project selection criteria based on the five axes IT governance strategies and two catalysts derived from COBIT 5 *** evaluation and validation of this method was applied in the portfolio management of the Abdelmalek Essaadi Moroccan University(AUE).The result shows that this proposed method has made it possible to make a better selection and prioritization of the portfolio of projects of Abdelmleek Essaadi University having the most value.

Objective:To demonstrate the in vitro antibacterial properties of five essential oils against ten bacterial strains and study the synergistic effect of the combination of essential oils with standard ***:Origanum compactum,Chrysanthemum coronarium,Thymus willdenowii Boiss,Melissa officinalis and Origanum majorana *** used alone and combined used with standard antibiotics to evaluate their antimicrobial *** disk diffusion method was ***:The results showed that the combined application of the essential oils of the plants with antibiotics led to a synergistic effect in some cases,but antagonistic effect was also observed in some ***:This study shows that the combination of essential oils of the five plants with antibiotics may be useful in the fight against emerging microbial drug resistance.

Assessment of Climate Variability and Agricultural Activities in the Area of Tadla Plain

The variations in both precipitation and temperature have far-reaching effects on agricultural activities and the accessibility of water resources. These climatic parameters are pivotal in determining the availability of both groundwater and surface water for agricultural use. The aim of this study was to evaluate the variations in climate parameters, focusing on precipitation and temperature, alongside changes in cultivated land area and crop yields in the Tadla area (Béni Mellal Khénifra region, Morocco);additionally, our research looks at the changes in water inflow into two dams and four aquifers. Trends were assessed over the period of 2010-2020 using the standardized precipitation index (SPI) method, as well as the parametric regression method and nonparametric Mann-Kendall and Sen’s slope test. This analysis can be a preliminary step in demonstrating the effects of climate variability on water resource availability and its adverse impacts on agriculture in the region. The results showed a decreasing trend for some yield crops despite the increase in the cultivated area. The results of the groundwater levels and inflow dams showed a significant upward evolution. The analysis of the obtained SPI values and temperatures has revealed a notable and consistent upward trendencies. This upward trajectory indicates that both the SPI values, which reflect precipitation patterns and the temperatures, have been on the rise over the examined period. These results prompt reflection on the effects of climate variability on water resources in the region and economic activities, particularly agriculture.

Census Ethnobotanical Study of Some Plants Used in Traditional Medicine in the City of Meknes

An ethnobotanical survey was conducted in the city of Meknès over a period of two years, from 2009 to 2011 with 1000 people (615 women, 385 men). Through the questionnaire, schedules were established to collect information on the use of therapeutic medicinal plants by the local population. This research has focused primarily on the general population, herbalists and healers. The present investigation has enumerated 194 species distributed in 165 genera and 72 families. The most represented families are Lamiaceae (18%), the Aseraceae, (17%), the Apiaceae (14%) and the Fabaceae (10%). The results of the survey show that 54% of individuals use both herbal medicine and modern medicine, 26% of individuals use herbs and 20% use modern medicine. We are interested in the use of plants in different ages and sexes. We report that 31% of the population is aged between 51 and 60 years, 29% between 41 and 50 years, 23% between 31 and 40 years, 10% between 21 and 30 years, 3% less than 20 years and 4 % > 60 years. We note the predominance of women over men. Women use up to 61% against 39% of men. The analysis of our results shows that herbal medicine takes a place in the self-medication of the population studied. However, we emphasize an important point: Ignorance of toxic plants, in fact, only 19% of the target population recognizes these plants.

This paper is focused on studying an important concept of the system analysis, which is the regional enlarged observability or constrained observability of the gradient for distributed parabolic systems evolving in the spatial domain Ω We will explore an approach based on the Hilbert Uniqueness Method (HUM), which can reconstruct the initial gradient state between two prescribed functions f1 and f2 only in a critical subregion ω of Ω without the knowledge of the state. Finally, the obtained results are illustrated by numerical simulations.
