Incidence and characteristics of HBV reactivation in hematological malignant patients in south Egypt

AIM:To investigate characteristics of hepatitis B virus(HBV)implicated in HBV reactivation in patients with hematological malignancies receiving immunosuppressive ***:Serum samples were collected from 53 patients with hematological malignancies negative for hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)before the start of and throughout the chemotherapy *** reactivation was diagnosed when the HBsAg status changed from negative to positive after the initiation of chemotherapy and/or when HBV DNA was detected by realtime detection polymerase chain reaction(RTD-PCR).For detecting the serological markers of HBV infection,HBsAg as well as antibodies to the core antigen(antiHBc)and to the surface antigen were measured in the sera by *** acids were extracted from sera,and HBV DNA sequences spanning the S gene were amplified by *** extracted DNA was further subjected to PCR to amplify the complete genome as well as the specific genomic sequences bearing the enhancerⅡ/core promoter/pre-core/core regions(nt1628-2364).Amplicons were sequenced ***:Thirty-five(66%)of the 53 HBsAg-negative patients were found to be negative serologically for antiHBc,and the remaining 18(34%)patients were positive for *** of the 53(9.4%)patients with hematologic malignancies experienced HBV *** D1 was detected in all five *** types of mutant strains were detected in the S gene product of HBV strains and were isolated from 3 patients with HBV reactivation:T/S120,L143,and *** DNA was detected in the pretreatment HBsAg-negative samples in one of the five patients with HBV *** this patient,sequences encompassing the HBV full genome obtained from sera before the start of chemotherapy and at the time of de novo HBV hepatitis were detected and it showed 100%***,in the phylogenetic tree,the sequences were clustered together,thereby indicating that this patient developed reactivation from an occult

Optical Properties of CR-39 Track Etch Detectors Irradiated by Alpha Particles with Different Energies

Because of the immense variety of applications of CR-39 track detectors, the optical properties of CR-39 polymer track detectors which irradiated by alpha particle at different energies and constant fluence were investigated. The optical properties were studied with ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis.) spectroscopy. The track properties were verified by using etching technique. Moreover, the optical energy band gap was calculated at different etching times (1.50, 3.00 and 6.00 h). The optical properties studies for the samples and track diameter measurements showed a fair agreement in which a scission occurred in CR-39 polymer chains etched at times 1.50 and 3.00 h when alpha particle irradiation 2.17 MeV. The etching time at 1.50 h was the optimum condition as a method to determine the alpha particle energies by the corresponding optical properties of CR-39.

Index Fungorum,Species Fungorum and MycoBank are the key fungal nomenclature and taxonomic databases that can be sourced to find taxonomic details concerning fungi,while DNA sequence data can be sourced from the NCBI,EBI and UNITE *** and ecological data on freshwater fungi can be accessed on http://***/,while http://***/provides a comprehensive list of names of marine organisms,including information on their *** websites however have little information on marine fungi and their ecology,beside articles that deal with marine fungi,especially those published in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries may not be accessible to those working in third world *** address this problem,a new website *** was set up and is introduced in this *** website provides a search facility to genera of marine fungi,full species descriptions,key to species and illustrations,an up to date classification of all recorded marine fungi which includes all fungal groups(Ascomycota,Basidiomycota,Blastocladiomycota,Chytridiomycota,Mucoromycota and fungus-like organisms ***),and listing recent ***,1257 species are listed in the marine fungi website(***),in 539 genera,74 orders,168 families,20 classes and five phyla,with new taxa continuing to be *** website has curators with specialist mycological expertise who help to provide update data on the classification of marine *** article also reviews knowledge of marine fungi covering a wide range of topics:their higher classification,ecology and world distribution,role in energy transfer in the oceans,origin and new chemical *** updated classification of marine fungi is also *** would like to invite all mycologists to contribute to this innovative website.

本文研究的是关于埃及中东部沙漠*** Missikat花岗岩侵入体外围与脉状铀矿床交接部位的构造。内容包括不同的构造特征,如交接部位的构造强度、不同地段的裂隙开度,长度以及横切和沿着含铀玉髓脉体上下接触带所呈现的构造格局,它们与地下采矿工程的对应情况。与玉髓脉体有关的构造活动,依据其擦痕面的擦痕来看是沿着旋转断层面的。显微构造分析沿此断层面也显示出位移。影像的线性构造分析显示出在花岗岩体中主要断裂的走向。地表铀矿化主要断裂走向为NEE—SWW和NW—SE,在采矿工程中发现逆时针旋转的断裂构造与地表走向为NE—SW的断裂构造有关。同时还发现了另外一组走向从NWW—SEE转到NW—SE的断裂构造。地表走向为NEE—SWW向的断裂和它在地下相对应的断裂走向为NE—SW向,且朝深部旋转角度继续增大。因而存在有铀矿向深部增加的可能性;作用在本区晚期的挤压应力来自NW和NNW方向;在此期间首先发生位移是NEE向扭性断裂,然后复活、张开和脉体贯入的硅化阶段,第二次活化的铀矿化阶段。

Antimicrobial resistance pattern in ventilator-associated pneumonia in an intensive care unit of Babol, northern Iran

Objective:To investigate antibiotic resistance pattern of ventilator-assiated pneumonia (VAP) generating microorganisms,and quantitative culture and determining antibiotic ***:This cross sectional study was performed on 50 patients suffering from VAP in intensive care unit of Ayatollah Rouhani Hospital,Babol,Iran during *** was probable for them based on clinical signs and the criteria of Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score *** respiratory samples were given under bronchoalveolar lavage and quantitative culture was done on *** by microdilution method,minimal inhibitory concentration based on respective microorganisms,considering clinical pulmonary infection score were ***:From 50 investigated samples in this study,the most common microorganisms were Acinetobacter baumannii (***) (70%) then Pseudomonas aeruginosa (12%),Staphylococcus aureus (8%) and Klebsiella pneumonia (3%).In our study *** showed approximate 100% resistance to all antibiotics,in a way that *** resistance to imipenem and meropenem and piperacillin/tazobactam each was 97.1%.The most resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was 66.7% to each cefepime and ceftazidime and clavulanate/*** aureus showed 75% resistance to nafcillin,cloxacillin and resistance in case of vancomycin was not ***:In current study,*** had the most prevalence among VAP and this species is resistant to most of *** ceftazidime,cefepime and clavulanate/ticarcillin,in treatment of the patients suffering VAP is not reasonable.
