Interaction of insulin with prokinetic drugs in STZ-induced diabetic mice

AIM:To study the possible interactions of metoclopramide,domperidone and erythromycin in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice treated with insulin by various ***:effects of the individual as well as combined drugs were studied in diabetic mice via estimation of the blood glucose and serum insulin levels,small intestinal transit(SIT),gastric emptying(Ge),xylose absorption and glucose tolerance *** were given insulin 2 IU/kg s.c.,metoclopramide 20 mg/kg p.o.,domperidone 20 mg/kg *** erythromycin 6 mg/kg *** and in *** were also normal and diabetic control *** first set of experiments was carried out to investigate the subchronic effect on blood glucose and serum insulin levels in diabetic mice of one week of daily dose administration of the tested drugs individually as well as the combination of insulin with each prokinetic *** other five sets of experiments were carried out to investigate the acute effect of a single dose of each drug individually and in combination on blood glucose and serum insulin levels,SIT,Ge,oral xylose absorption and glucose tolerance ***:The study included the prokinetic drugs metoclopramide(20 mg/kg),domperidone(20 mg/kg) and erythromycin(6 mg/kg),as well as insulin(2 IU/kg),which was individually effective in decreasing SIT,enhancing Ge and increasing xylose absorption significantly in diabetic *** tended to decrease blood glucose level and increase serum insulin level after 1 wk of daily administration in diabetic *** potentiated the effect of insulin on blood glucose level and serum insulin level whereas other prokinetic agents failed to do so after repeated dose administration in diabetic *** or erythromycin in combination with insulin significantly decreased SIT,in diabetic mice,to lower levels than with insulin *** of prokinetic drugs along with insulin antagonized the action of insulin on xylose abs

FIRST-ORDeR MeTHODS FOR SOLVING THe OPTIMAL STATIC H∞-SYNTHeSIS PROBLeM

In this paper, we consider the static output feedback （SOF） H∞-synthesis problem posed as a nonlinear semi-definite programming （NSDP） problem. Two numerical algorithms are developed to tackle the NSDP problem by solving the corresponding Karush- Kuhn-Tucker first-order necessary optimality conditions iteratively. Numerical results for various benchmark problems illustrating the performance of the proposed methods are given.

Toxoplasma gondii infection can induce retinal DNA damage: an experimental study

AIM:To detect whether Toxoplasma gondii(***)infection of mice can induce retinal DNA ***:A total of 20 laboratory-bred male Swiss albino mice were used and divided into four groups:control group(non-infected animals);*** infected group;immunosuppressed infected group;and infected group treated with sulfadiazine and *** eyes were collected 6wk post infection and retinas were *** retina was immediately processed for comet assay and the frequency of tailed nuclei(DNA damage)was *** addition,retinal DNA damage was revealed by various comet assay parameters that were provided by the image analysis software including tail length,percentage of DNA in the tail,percentage of tailed cells and tail ***:The obtained results showed that *** infection induced a statistically significant increase in the frequency of tailed nuclei,tail length,percentage of DNA in the tail,and tail moment in mice retinal cells compared to the control group(which showed some degree of DNA damage).In immunosuppressed infected group,retinal DNA damage was severing and there was significant increase in various comet assay parameters compared to both control and infected *** treatment with sulfadiazine and pyrimethamine,retinal DNA damage decreased and all comet assay parameters showed a statistical significant decrease compared to infected ***:*** infection can induce DNA damage in mice retinal cells.

In this paper, the discrete-time static output feedback control design problem is con- sidered. A nonlinear conjugate gradient method is analyzed and studied for solving an unconstrained matrix optimization problem that results from this optimal control prob- lem. In addition, through certain parametrization to the optimization problem an initial stabilizing static output feedback gain matrix is not required to start the conjugate gradi- ent method. Finally, the proposed algorithms are tested numerically through several test problems from the benchmark collection.

Transient elastography compared to liver biopsy and morphometry for predicting fibrosis in pediatric chronic liver disease: Does etiology matter?

AIM: To evaluate transient elastography (Te) as a noninvasive tool in staging liver fibrosis compared with liver biopsy and morphometry in children with different chronic liver ***: A total of 90 children [50 with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV), 20 with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and 20 with Wilson disease] were included in the study and underwent liver stiffness measurement (LSM) using Te. Liver biopsies were evaluated for fibrosis, qualitatively, by Ishak score and quantitatively by fibrosis area fraction (FAF) using digital image analysis (morphometry). LSM was correlated with fibrosis and other studied variables using spearman correlation. A stepwise multiple regression analysis was also performed to examine independent factors associated with LSM. Different cut-off values of LSM were calculated for predicting individual fibrosis stages using receiver-operating characteristic curve. Cut-off values with optimal clinical performance (optimal sensitivity and specificity simultaneously) were ***: The majority of HCV group had minimal activity (80%) and no/mild fibrosis (72%). On the other hand, the majority of AIH group had mild to moderate activity (70%) and moderate to severe fibrosis (95%) and all Wilson disease group had mild to moderate activity (100%) and moderate to severe fibrosis (100%). LSM correlated significantly with both FAF and Ishak scores and the correlation appeared better with the latter (r = 0.839 vs 0.879, P ed individual stages of fibrosis with high performance. Sensitivity ranged from 81.4% to 100% and specificity ranged from 75.0% to 97.2%. When we compared LSM values for the same stage of fibrosis, they varied according to the different etiologies. Higher values were in AIH (16.15 ± 7.23 kPa) compared to Wilson disease (8.30 ± 0.84 kPa) and HCV groups (7.43 ± 1.73 kPa). Synthesis, spectral, optical and anti-inflammatory activity of complexes derived from 2-aminobenzohydrazide with some rare earths

Three new metal complexes derived from er（Ⅲ）, Dy（Ⅲ） and Zr（Ⅳ） with 2-aminobenzohydrazide （ABH） were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, ^1H-NMR, eS-MS and transmission electron microscopy （TeM）. The morphology and the particle size were determined by TeM. The results showed that the ligand acted as neutral bi-dentate coordinating to the metal ions through the carbonyl oxygen and amidic amino nitrogen. The aromatic amine group remained inert towards coordination. The optical band gap was measured and found to be 3.3, 3.5 and 4.3 eV for er（Ⅲ）, Dy（Ⅲ） and Zr（Ⅳ）, respectively. The optical band gap values indicated a semi-conducting nature of the investigated complexes. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of the tested compounds were determined and compared with standard meloxicam.

This study examines the large amount of agricultural waste produced in egypt between 2010 and 2019 by analysing data from various departments within the Agriculture *** also provides a comprehensive database on the biomass available from agricultural waste in egypt and its potential applications for producing power,heat and chemical *** biomass-pyrolysis systems powered by solar energy are used,research demonstrates the potential to convert agricultural waste into a variety of chemical *** approach utilizes solar energy,a clean and renewable source,and has wide-ranging industrial and power generation *** egypt’s reliance on agriculture,the country currently utilizes little biomass for energy production and has not previously used it as a source for creating chemical products,which could potentially save on the imported oil used in these *** findings of the study are graphically presented using histograms,pie charts,*** overall production of residues reached the 30-Mt level in *** it contains the most rice-cultivated land,Dakahlia(Lower egypt region)produces the highest percentage of the total residue(37.17%).Qena governorate(Upper egypt region)produces 1.14 metric tons of residues,with sugarcane accounting for 20.3%of the total.

In terms of security and privacy,mobile ad-hoc network(MANeT)continues to be in demand for additional debate and *** more MANeT applications become data-oriented,implementing a secure and reliable data transfer protocol becomes a major concern in the ***,MANeT’s lack of infrastructure,unpredictable topology,and restricted resources,as well as the lack of a previously permitted trust relationship among connected nodes,contribute to the attack detection burden.A novel detection approach is presented in this paper to classify passive and active black-hole *** proposed approach is based on the dipper throated optimization(DTO)algorithm,which presents a plausible path out of multiple paths for statistics transmission to boost MANeTs’quality of service.A group of selected packet features will then be weighed by the DTO-based multi-layer perceptron(DTO-MLP),and these features are collected from nodes using the Low energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchical(LeACH)clustering *** is a powerful classifier and the DTO weight optimization method has a significant impact on improving the classification process by strengthening the weights of key features while suppressing the weights ofminor *** hybridmethod is primarily designed to combat active black-hole *** the LeACH clustering phase,however,can also detect passive black-hole *** effect of mobility variation on detection error and routing overhead is explored and evaluated using the suggested *** diverse mobility situations,the results demonstrate up to 97%detection accuracy and faster execution ***,the suggested approach uses an adjustable threshold value to make a correct conclusion regarding whether a node is malicious or benign.

Rainfall plays a significant role in managing the water level in the *** unpredictable amount of rainfall due to the climate change can cause either overflow or dry in the *** individuals,especially those in the agricultural sector,rely on rain *** rainfall is challenging because of the changing nature of the *** area of Jimma in southwest Oromia,ethiopia is the subject of this research,which aims to develop a rainfall forecasting *** estimate Jimma's daily rainfall,we propose a novel approach based on optimizing the parameters of long short-term memory(LSTM)using Al-Biruni earth radius(BeR)optimization algorithm for boosting the fore-casting accuracy.N ash-Sutcliffe model eficiency(NSe),mean square error(MSe),root MSe(RMSe),mean absolute error(MAe),and R2 were all used in the conducted experiments to assess the proposed approach,with final scores of(0.61),(430.81),(19.12),and(11.09),***,we compared the proposed model to current machine-learning regression models;such as non-optimized LSTM,bidirectional LSTM(BiLSTM),gated recurrent unit(GRU),and convolutional LSTM(ConvLSTM).It was found that the proposed approach achieved the lowest RMSe of(19.12).In addition,the experimental results show that the proposed model has R-with a value outperforming the other models,which confirms the superiority of the proposed *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance and stability of the proposed approach and the recorded results proved the expected perfomance.

Applications of internet-of-things(IoT)are increasingly being used in many facets of our daily life,which results in an enormous volume of *** computing and fog computing,two of the most common technologies used in IoT applications,have led to major security *** are on the rise as a result of the usage of these technologies since present security measures are *** artificial intelligence(AI)based security solutions,such as intrusion detection systems(IDS),have been proposed in recent *** technologies that require data preprocessing and machine learning algorithm-performance augmentation require the use of feature selection(FS)techniques to increase classification accuracy by minimizing the number of features *** the other hand,metaheuristic optimization algorithms have been widely used in feature selection in recent *** this paper,we proposed a hybrid optimization algorithm for feature selection in *** proposed algorithm is based on grey wolf(GW),and dipper throated optimization(DTO)algorithms and is referred to as *** proposed algorithm has a better balance between the exploration and exploitation steps of the optimization process and thus could achieve better *** the employed IoT-IDS dataset,the performance of the proposed GWDTO algorithm was assessed using a set of evaluation metrics and compared to other optimization approaches in 2678 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 the literature to validate its *** addition,a statistical analysis is performed to assess the stability and effectiveness of the proposed *** results confirmed the superiority of the proposed approach in boosting the classification accuracy of the intrusion in IoT-based networks.
