Deposition of the H2A.Z histone variant by the SWR1 complex （SWRI-C） in regulatory regions of specific loci modulates transcription. Characterization of mutations in Arabidopsis thaliana homologs of yeast SWRI-C has revealed a role for H2A.Z exchange in a variety of developmental processes. Nevertheless, the exact composition of plant SWRI-C and how it is recruited to target genes remains to be established. Here we show that SWC4, the Arabidopsis homolog of yeast SANT domain protein Swc4/Eaf2, is a DNA-binding protein that interacts with SWR1-C subunits. We demonstrate that the swc4-1 knockout mutant is embryo- lethal, while SWC4 RNAi knockdown lines display pleiotropic phenotypic alterations in vegetative and repro- ductive traits, including acceleration of flowering time, indicating that SWC4 controls post-embryonic processes. Transcriptomic analyses and genome-wide profiling of H2A.Z indicate that SWC4 represses tran- scription of a number of genes, including the floral integrator FT and key transcription factors, mainly by modulating H2A.Z deposition. Interestingly, SWC4 silencing does not affect H2A.Z deposition at the FLC locus nor expression of this gene, a master regulator of flowering previously shown to be controlled by SWR1-C. Importantly, we find that SWC4 recognizes specific AT-rich DNA elements in the chromatin regions of target genes and that SWC4 silencing impairs SWRI-C binding at FT. Collectively, our data suggest that SWC4 regulates plant growth and development by aiding SWR1-C recruitment and modulating H2A.Z deposition.

The adsorption capacity of powdered active carbons, used in a water treatment facility, for the removal of the triazine herbicides propazine, prometryn and prometon, was evaluated. Kinetic studies showed that some of the carbon samples used could be suitable in the practice for the treatment of moderate contents of the herbicides in contaminated waters. Equilibrium studies showed that the data fit the Frumkin isotherm. The results show that in the adsorption process there are repulsive lateral interactions that depend mainly of the adsorbate molecules rather than the nature or distribution of adsorption sites. Such lateral interactions seem to be established mainly between the isopropyl groups of adjacent molecules, being of the same order for the three molecules. The effectiveness of the active carbons was evaluated by determining the percentage of reduction achieved by each product.

The paper presents the structural and ferroelectric results for Sr_(1-x)Ba_(x)Bi_(2)Nb_(2)O_(9)(x=0.30;0.85)thin films,which were obtained by using *** solutions containing the desirable ions were prepared from the powders of the previous studied ceramic *** films were deposited at room temperature on Fluorine-doped Tin Oxide(FTO)substrates and submitted to a heat treatment for *** films were characterized by using scanning microscopy electronic,energy dispersive spectroscopy and *** ferroelectric loops were obtained,at room temperature,by using a Sawyer-Tower circuit at several frequencies.A well-defined grain structure was observed for both *** energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS)measurements revealed the presence of the corresponding elements from the chemical composition of the ceramic *** band-gap energy was around 3.3 eV for both *** hysteresis loops for normal and relaxor ferroelectrics were obtained for x=0.30 and 0.85,respectively.

目的:报告2例以视力下降为首发症状的白血病患者,采用光学相干断层扫描(OCT)识别和定位视网膜病变。方法:回顾性干涉个案报告。结果:伴随视力下降,确诊急性淋巴细胞白血病和慢性淋巴细胞白血病患者各1例。OCT发现1例为黄斑部浆液性脱离。另1例为视网膜低荧光浸润,OCT表现为高反射性损伤。在随访时间内,肿瘤完全缓解后视网膜改变消失,视力明显恢复。结论:OCT是一种检测、定位和跟踪的眼部肿瘤有价值的,非侵入性的诊断工具。

Dental plaque in adult patients is well identified as a reservoir for Helicobacter pylori. This question still remains unclear in children. The aim of this study is to identify the presence of this bacterium in dental plaque of mexican pediatric patients, using Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR). Forty patients from 2 to 11 years without dyspeptic symptoms were enrolled. Samples were collected from the subgingival space of the lingual side of the lower molars and cultured in selective medium. Therefore, qPCR analysis was conducted. According to the results obtained in this study, it was found that 35% of the pediatric population who participated tested qPCR positive for the presence of H. pylori in dental plaque samples. No significant associations were detected among isolation rate by gender or age. We found that dental plaque may be a reservoir for H. pylori. However, more research is needed to establish the way of the infection of pediatric population.

Differential Pathogenic Response in Strawberry Tissues and Organs by Colletotrichum acutatum

The susceptibility of different tissues and organs from strawberry plants, cv ＂Camarosa＂, to Colletotrichum acutatum was tested using a severity index based on infection response. Symptoms developed on inoculated tissues were characterized along 30 days. Flowers, except sepals, petioles and fruits were the most susceptible organs to the pathogen and they became necrotic tissues at 30 days post inoculation （dpi）. Also, well-developed acervuli, which produced masses of orange-pink spores, were observed on these infected organs. An asymptomatic stage or latency phase was observed in green and white strawberry fruits. In spite of they were inoculated anthracnose symptoms were observed only when they became red fruits. On the other hand, strawberry leaves and sepals were resistant to infection by C. acutatum and only small flecks or light brown spots were observed reaching a size of 1 to 5 mm at 30 dpi. Likewise, the susceptibility of stolons and crowns to C. acutatum was evaluated as intermediate at 30 dpi. Finally, the infection process of the fungus on strawberry leaves and petioles was studied using light and electron microscopy. Pre-penetration events were similar on both, leaves and petioles： However, differences between colonization of strawberry leaves and petioles by C. acutatum were observed.

Collisionless shocks are ubiquitous in the Universe and are held responsible for the production of nonthermal particles and high-energy *** the absence of particle collisions in the system,theory shows that the interaction of an expanding plasma with a pre-existing electromagnetic structure(as in our case)is able to induce energy dissipation and allow shock *** formation can alternatively take place when two plasmas interact,through microscopic instabilities inducing electromagnetic fields that are able in turn to mediate energy dissipation and shock *** our platform in which we couple a rapidly expanding plasma induced by high-power lasers(jLF/Titan at LLNL and LULI2000)with high-strength magnetic fields,we have investigated the generation of a magnetized collisionless shock and the associated particle *** have characterized the shock as being collisionless and *** report here on measurements of the plasma density and temperature,the electromagnetic field structures,and the particle energization in the experiments,under various conditions of ambient plasma and magnetic *** have also modeled the formation of the shocks using macroscopic hydrodynamic simulations and the associated particle acceleration using kinetic particle-in-cell *** a companion paper to Yao et al.[***.17,1177–1182(2021)],here we show additional results of the experiments and simulations,providing more information to allow their reproduction and to demonstrate the robustness of our interpretation of the proton energization mechanism as being shock surfing acceleration.

Erectile dysfunction(ED),a condition closely related to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality,is frequently associated with *** this study,we aimed to determine the prevalence of ED and evaluate the associated risk factors in a cohort of 254 young(18–49 years)nondiabetic obese(body mass index[BmI]≥30 kg m−2)men from primary *** function(International Index of Erectile Function[IIEF-5]questionnaire),quality of life(Aging males'Symptoms[AmS scale]),and body composition analysis(Tanita mC-180mA)were *** testosterone was determined using high-performance liquid chromatography–mass *** logistic regression analysis was used to study the factors associated with *** prevalence was 42.1%.Subjects with ED presented higher BmI,waist circumference,number of components of the metabolic syndrome,AmS score,insulin resistance,and a more unfavorable body composition than those without *** logistic regression analysis showed that a pathological AmS score(odds ratio[OR]:4.238,PmI≥40 kg m−2,OR:2.602,P=0.005,compared with BmI 30–34.9 kg m−2),high-density lipoprotein(HDL)-cholesterol levels(OR:0.956,P=0.004),and age(OR:1.047,P=0.016)were factors independently associated with *** conclusion,we demonstrate that,in a primary care-based cohort of nondiabetic young obese men,ED affected>40%of subjects.A pathological AmS score,the degree of obesity,and age were positively associated with ED,while elevated HDL-cholesterol levels were inversely associated with the odds of presenting *** prospective studies are needed to evaluate the long-term consequences of ED in this population.
