Background: Communication is an essential element in nursing practice. Patients expressed low satisfaction at communication with nurses. Nursing students feel pressured on communication with patients and are not properly prepared to effectively communicate with the patients. Even newly graduated nurses also present communication with patients as the most difficult job in nursing practice. Hence communication skills should be learned and well trained throughout the college education in order to utilize the skills properly in clinical practice. Peer-evaluation in learning has been identified as an effective method in diverse populations of students from elementary students to adults. In addition, it has been demonstrated that peer-evaluation was useful to understand communication problems with patients in a sample of medical doctors. Peer-evaluation can improve learning motivation as well as communication skills of students. Among the visual audio devices, a video is the fastest method to facilitate comprehensive memory that leads to transmit learning. It has also been known as an effective method to develop a rapport with a patient and improve communication skills of health care practitioners. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effects of video based peer-evaluation on communication skills and learning motivation in nursing students. Methods: A non-equivalent control with pre-posttest design was used. The participants were 47 sophomore nursing students who enrolled in a course of fundamental nursing at a nursing college in South Korea in the Fall semester of 2008. Their grade point averages（GPA） were used to assign them to one of the groups;those with even numbers of GPA ranks were assigned to the intervention group and odd numbers to the control group. Stability of Symmetric Solitary Wave Solutions of a Forced Korteweg-de Vries Equation and the Polynomial Chaos

In this paper,we consider the numerical stability of gravity-capillary waves generated by a localized pressure in water of finite depth based on the forced Korteweg-de Vries(FKdV)framework and the polynomial *** stability studies are focused on the symmetric solitary wave for the subcritical flow with the Bond number greater than one *** its steady symmetric solitarywave-like solutions are randomly perturbed,the evolutions of some waves show stability in time regardless of the randomness while other waves produce unstable *** representing the perturbation with a random variable,the governing FKdV equation is interpreted as a stochastic *** polynomial chaos expansion of the random solution has been used for the study of stability in two *** it allows us to identify the stable solution of the stochastic governing *** it is used to construct upper and lower bounding surfaces for unstable solutions,which encompass the fluctuations of waves.

A novel isoxazole compound CM2-II-173 inhibits the invasivephenotype of triple-negative breast cancer cells

Invasion and metastasis are important hallmarks of breast cancer and are the leading cause of patient ***-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive type of breast cancer characterized by a poor prognosis and a lackof effective targeted therapies. The present study investigated the inhibitory effect of a novel FTY720 derivative on theinvasive phenotype of TNBC cells. Here, we showed that a novel compound with an isoxazole ring, 4-(3-Decylisoxazol-5-yl)-1-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)butan-2-aminium chloride (CM2-II-173), significantly inhibitedinvasiveness of MDA-MB-231 TNBC cells. Expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 and invasiveness ofMCF10A normal breast cells induced by sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) were reduced by CM2-II-173 *** of pMEK1, pAkt, pERK, and p38 MAPK by S1P were inhibited by treatment with *** and anchorage-independent growth of MDA-MB-231 TNBC cells were significantly decreased by CM2-II-173. CM2-II-173 efficiently induced apoptosis in MDA-MB-231 TNBC cells. CM2-II-173 significantly inhibitedinvasive phenotypes of breast, liver, prostate, and ovarian cancer cells. CM2-II-173 exhibited a more potent effect onthe invasiveness of MDA-MB-231 TNBC cells compared to FTY720. Taken together, this study demonstrated thatCM2-II-173 has the potential to be a lead compound that can inhibit cancer progression of not only TNBC cells, butalso of liver, prostate, and ovarian cancer cells.

With the advancement of camera phones,selfies have become part of Chinese popular culture,known as *** the lens of Goffman Dramaturgical Theory and User and Gratification Theory,the research views selfies as multifaceted culture and seeks to scrutinize the construction of digital self-representation through selfies,thus more focusing on selfie taking and editing,behaviors before posting.A survey of 420 individuals via online questionnaire examined the relationship between gender difference and selfie-related behaviors: selfie taking and editing,selfie taking and editing motivations,and the notion of *** research revealed females were more actively engaged in selfie taking and editing than *** identified by exploratory factor analysis,selfie taking motivations consist of self-approval,socialization and attention seeking whereas selfie editing motivations include attention seeking and *** the correlations between all the motivations with selfie taking and editing frequency respectively,only self-approval motivation and entertainment motivation were statistically *** carried significantly relatedness with selfie taking and editing frequency.

Micro/nano-wrinkled elastomeric electrodes enabling high energy storage performance and various form factors

Stretchable elastomer-based electrodes are considered promising energy storage electrodes for next-generation wearable/flexible electronics requiring various shape ***,these elastomeric electrodes suffer from the limited electrical conductivity of current collectors,low charge storage capacities,poor interfacial interactions between elastomers and conductive/active materials,and lack of shape *** this study,we report hierarchically micro/nano-wrinkle-structured elastomeric electrodes with notably high energy storage performance and good mechanical/electrochemical stabilities,simultaneously allowing various form *** this study,a swelling/deswelling-involved metal nanoparticle(NP)assembly is first performed on thiol-functionalized polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)elastomers,generating a micro-wrinkled structure and a conductive seed layer for subsequent *** the assembly of metal NPs,the conformal electrodeposition of Ni and NiCo layered double hydroxides layers with a homogeneous nanostructure on the micro-wrinkled PDMS induces the formation of a micro/nano-wrinkled surface morphology with a large active surface area and high electrical *** on this unique approach,the formed elastomeric electrodes show higher areal capacity and superior rate capability than conventional elastomeric electrodes while maintaining their electrical/electrochemical properties under external mechanical *** notable mechanical/electrochemical performance can be further enhanced by using spiral-structured PDMS(stretchability of~500%)and porous-structured PDMS(areal capacity of~280μAh cm^(-2)).

This study introduces the design details of a tool to create interactive projection-mapping content in a convenient *** the proposed tool design,a homography-based camera–projector calibration method was applied with the use of red–green–blue-depth images from a Kinect V2 sensor that did not require accurate camera calibration *** addition,the proposed tool simultaneously achieved static projection mapping that projected the image content onto a fixed object,and dynamic projection mapping that projected the image content onto a user’s body,by tracing the moving *** verify the effectiveness of the proposed content-creation tool,users with no programming capabilities were employed to create contents that were projected onto various objects in fixed positions and a user’s body in various poses,thereby analyzing the tool’s ***,the projection accuracy was analyzed at different depth positions,and the projection-mapping accuracy was verified with the use of the proposed method.

The effects of alloying elements(Co,Cr,Mo,W,Al,Ti,and Ta)on the oxidation resistance of Ni-(0-15)Co-(8-15)Cr-(0-5)Mo-(0-10)W-(3-8)Al-(0-5)Ti-(0-10)Ta-0.1 C-0.01 B alloys were *** sample compositions were designed by the Box-Behnken method of design of experiments(DOE).The alloying elements show complicated effects on the mass gain due to oxidation,depending on the alloy *** reduces the mass gain *** other elements except Al do not appear to exert a strong effect on the oxidation rate on average,but their influences are shown clearly in the alloys with a low Al ***,W,and Ta reduce the oxidation rate,while Cr,Mo,and Ti promote *** is the most effective element in reducing the oxidation rate of the alloy with a low Al *** is confirmed that a continuous Al2O3 layer is essentially required for high oxidation *** oxide scale of easily oxidized alloys has various oxides such as NiCr2O4,NiAl2O4,NiO,Cr2O3,CrTaO4,and TiO2.
