The pyrolysis and oxy-fuel combustion characteristics of Polish bituminous coal were studied us/ng non- isothermal thermogravimetric analysis. Pyrolysis tests showed that the mass loss profiles were almost similar up to 870℃ ha both N2 and CO2 atmospheres, while further mass loss occurred ha CO2 atmosphere at higher temper- atures due to char-CO2 gasification. Replacement of N2 ha the combustion environment by CO2 delayed the com- bustion of bituminous coal. At elevated oxygen levels, TG/DTG profiles shifted through lower temperature zone, ignition and burnout temperatures decreased and mass loss rate significantly increased and complete combustion was achieved at lower temperatures and shorter times. Kinetic analysis for the tested coal was performed using Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose （KAS） method. The activation energies of bituminous coal combustion at the similar oxygen content in oxy-fuel with that of air were higher than that in air atmosphere. The results indicated that, with O2 concentration increasing, the activation energies decreased.

Pharmaceutical residues, mainly antibiotics, have been called "emerging contaminants" in the environment because of their increasing frequency of detection in aquatic and terrestrial systems and their sublethal ecological effects. Most of them are undiscovered. Both human and veterinary pharmaceuticals, including antibiotics, are introduced into the environment via many different routes, including discharges from municipal wastewater treatment plants and land application of animal manure and biosolids to fertilize croplands. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the widespread problem of antibiotic resistance, modem and scientific approaches have been developed to gain knowledge of the entire antibiotic-resistant microbiota of various ecosystems, which is called the resistome. In this review, two omics methods, i.e. culturomics, a new approach, and metagenomics, used to study antibiotic resistance in environmental samples, are described. Moreover, we discuss how both omics methods have become core scientific tools to characterize microbiomes or resistomes, study natural communities and discover new microbes and new antibiotic resistance genes from environments. The combination of the method for get better outcome of both culturomics and metagenomics will significantly advance our understanding of the role of microbes and their specific properties in the environment.

The paper presents the application of Finite Element Method in thermal analysis of underground power cable system. The computations were performed for power cables buried in-line in the ground at a depth of 2 meters. The developed mathematical model allows determining the two-dimensional temperature distribution in the soil, thermal backfill and power cables. The simulations studied the effect of soil and cable backfill thermal conductivity on the maximum temperature of the cable conductor. Also, the effect of cable diameter on the temperature of cable core was studied. Numerical analyses were performed based on a program written in MATLAB.

Shale gas and tight gas exploration and extraction processes create potential threats to the *** Poland,no comprehensive guidelines for environmental risk assessment have been prepared so *** paper presents a proposal of environmental risk assessment methodology which can be used for corporate risk management procedures during exploration and extraction of unconventional hydrocarbons in *** most frequent environmental threats that may occur during the exploration and exploitation of unconventional hydrocarbon deposits include degradation of soils through construction of drilling rigs and access roads,landforms change,local soil pollution caused by fuels,cleaning agents and materials used to prepare drilling fluids,rubble,cement,gravel,pollution of surface and underground water as a result of emergency discharges of sewage,infiltration of pollution from waste reservoirs,disturbance of hydrogeological equilibrium through significant water intake,noise and atmospheric pollution resulting from the combustion of *** check the level of these threats' six exploration sites form Pomeranian and Carpathian region of Poland(3 wells of shale gas and 3 wells of tight gas) have been evaluated in detail,and the risk quantification has been *** of a local,short-term and reversible environment impact,the environmental risks for the exploration and extraction processes of unconventional hydrocarbons have been found to be medium or negligibly *** is recommended that using the same methodology for other regions of Poland where we can find unconventional hydrocarbons and it can be enriched in dedicated application with spatial maps to give the investors a quick feedback on the potential environmental risks.

In 2004, an association of genetic variation in the discs large homolog 5 （DLG5＇） gene with inflammatory bowel disease （IBD） was described in two large European study samples. The initial report of DLG5 as a novel IBD susceptibility gene sparked a multitude of studies investigating its effect on CD and IBD, respectively, leading to controversial findings and ongoing discussions concerning the validity of the initial association finding and its role in the aetiology of Crohn disease. This review aims to summarize the current state of knowledge and to place the reported findings in the context of current concepts of complex diseases. This includes aspects of statistical power, phenotype differences and genetic heterogeneity between different populations as well as gene-gene and gene-environment interactions.

With the rising interest in the regulatory functions of long non-coding RNAs （IncRNAs） in complex human diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, there is an increasing need in public databases offering comprehensive and integrative data for all aspects of these versatile molecules. Recently, a variety of public data repositories that specialized in lncRNAs have been developed, which make use of huge high-throughput data particularly from next-generation sequencing （NGS） approaches. Here, we provide an overview of current IncRNA databases covering basic and functional annotation, IncRNA expression and regulation, interactions with other biomolecules, and genomic variants influencing the structure and function of lncRNAs. The prominent IncRNA antisense noncoding RNA in the INK4 locus （ANRIL）, which has been unequivocally associated with coronary artery disease through genome-wide association studies （GWAS）, serves as an example to demonstrate the features of each individual database.

Wind-induced sand erosion is a natural process, and can have several negative impacts on human health, environment, and economy. To mitigate the wind-induced sand erosion, an environmental friendly technique that helps to bind soil particles is desirable. The microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation(MICP) treatment has lately become renowned and a viable alternative to enhance the binding of sand particles(especially against wind erosion). The efficiency of Sporosarcina pasteurii bacteria in inducing calcite formation can be influenced by various factors, including the type of growth media used for bacterial culture. Most of the studies have mainly validated the efficiency of S. pasteurii bacteria usually under single growth media for the MICP treatment. However, the efficiency of S. pasteurii under different growth media on calcite formation is rarely explored. The current study explores the effect of *** bacteria on calcite formation under the presence of three different growth media, namely,molasses(MS), tryptic soy broth(TB), and nutrient broth(NB). The three growth media have been applied in the laboratory with and without bacterial solution(control samples). Altered cementation media concentrations(0.5 and 1.0 M) with different pore volumes(PVs), namely, 0.25, 0.50, and 1.00 PV were used in sand-filled tubes for 7 and 14 treatment cycles(1 cycle=24 h). The pH and EC were measured for 12-h period in every 2 h interval, to monitor values at the time of treatment at room temperature. The calcite precipitation was confirmed using SEM(scanning electron microscope), PXRD(powder X-ray diffraction), and calcimeter tests. It was observed that MS generates lower calcite precipitation as compared with NB and TB. However, MS has the advantage of being more economical and abundant(waste product from sugar mills and refineries) as compared with other growth media(NB and TB). Eu（Ⅲ） complexes with chosen Keggin polyoxomatalates, POM, containing organic counter cations （tetrabutylarnmonium, tetrabutylphosphonium, triphenylethylphosphonium）, were synthesized, and their photophysical properties were studied. The synthesized complexes had the general formula of XnH5-n[EuSiW11O39], formulated based on the results of elemental and thermogravimetric analysis and FTIR spectroscopy. The photophysical properties of the obtained compounds were investigated using photoluminescence and electrochemiluminescence, ECL, methods in solutions and solids. The most intense luminescence of Eu（Ⅲ） was observed for the complexes with tetrabutylarnmonium cations. After the addition of phenanthroline to the XnH5-n[EuSiW11O39] solutions, a large increase in the Eu（Ⅲ） luminescence intensity and a lengthening of its luminescence lifetime were observed as a result of the formation of ternary complexes. Attempts to apply ECL as a method of light emission by generating species capable of forming excited states in Ln/POMs, i.e., Tb（Ⅲ） and Eu（Ⅲ） in the Na9EuW10O36 and Na9TbW10O36 complexes, were made. The influence of the POM complexes on the ECL was also tested using the Tb/EDDHA （EDDA=ethylenediamine di（o-hydroxyphenylacetic acid）） complex, which is effective in generating ECL.
