Background:Respiratory morbidity of former preterm infants and especially those with bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD)is high during infancy and early *** sources:We performed a review based on a literature search including EMBASE,MEDLINE,and CINAHL databases to identify all relevant papers published in the English and German literature on influenza and respiratory syncytial virus infection associated with preterm infant,prematurity,and BPD between 1980 and ***:Recurrent respiratory symptoms remain common at preschool age,school age and even into young *** viral respiratory tract infections due to different pathogens cause significant morbidity and necessitate rehospitalizations during the fi rst years of *** uenza virus infection plays a minor role compared to respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)associated respiratory tract infection during infancy and early ***,particular morbidity to both viruses is ***:The particular burden of both viral diseases in preterm infants is dominated by RSV and its associated rehospitalizations during the fi rst two years of *** measures include vaccination against influenza virus of family members and caregivers and active immunization starting at the age of 6 months,and monthly injections of palivizumab during the cold season to avoid severe RSV disease and its sequelae.

Hypocrea/Trichoderma is a genus of soil-borne or wood-decaying fungi containing members important to mankind as producers of industrial enzymes and biocontrol agents against plant pathogens, but also as opportunistic pathogens of immuno- compromised humans and animals, while others can cause damage to cultivated mushroom. With the recent advent of a reliable, BarCode-aided identification system for all known taxa of Trichoderma and Hypocrea, it became now possible to study some of the biological fundamentals of the diversity in this fungal genus in more detail. In this article, we will therefore review recent progress in (1) the understanding of the geographic distribution of individual taxa; (2) mechanisms of speciation leading to development of mushroom diseases and facultative human mycoses; and (3) the possible correlation of specific traits of secondary metabolism and molecular phylogeny.

The non-specific lipid transfer proteins （nsLTPs） are small, basic proteins characterized by a tunnel-like hydrophobic cavity, capable of transferring various lipid molecules between lipid bilayers. Most nsLTPs are synthesized with an N-terminal signal peptide that localizes the protein to the apoplastic space. The nsLTPs have only been identified in seed plants, where they are encoded by large gene families. We have initiated an analysis of the evolutionary history of the nsLTP family using genomic and EST information from non-seed land plants and green algae to determine：（1） when the nsLTP family arose, （2） how often new nsLTP subfamilies have been created, and （3） how subfamilies differ in their patterns of expansion and loss in different plant lineages. In this study, we searched sequence databases and found that genes and transcripts encoding nsLTPs are abundant in liverworts, mosses, and all other investigated land plants, but not present in any algae. The tertiary structures of representative liverwort and moss nsLTPs were further studied with homology modeling. The results indicate that the nsLTP family has evolved after plants conquered land. Only two of the four major subfamilies of nsLTPs found in flowering plants are present in mosses and liverworts. The additional subfamilies have arisen later, during land plant evolution. In this report, we also introduce a modified nsLTP classification system.

In the highly fragmented landscape of central Europe, dispersal is of particular importance as it determines the long-term survival of animal populations. Dispersal not only secures the recolonization of patches where populations went extinct, it may also rescue small populations and thus prevent local extinction events. As dispersal involves different individual fitness costs, the decision to disperse should not be random but context- dependent and often will be biased toward a certain group of individuals （e.g., sex- and wing morph-biased dispersal）. Although biased dispersal has far-reaching consequences for animal populations, immediate studies of sex- and wing morph-biased dispersal in orthopterans are very rare. Here, we used a combined approach of morphological and genetic analyses to investigate biased dispersal of Metrioptera bicolor, a wing dimorphic bush-cricket. Our results clearly show wing morph-biased dispersal for both sexes of M. bicolor. In addition, we found sex-biased dispersal for macropterous individuals, but not for micropters. Both, morphological and genetic data, favor macropterous males as dispersal unit of this bush-cricket species. To get an idea of the flight ability ofM. bicolor, we compared our morphological data with that of Locusta migratoria and Schistocerca gregaria, which are very good flyers. Based on our morphological data, we suggest a good flight ability for macropters of M. bicolor, although flying individuals of this species are seldom observed.

This work presents the synthesis of Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+),χCa^(2+)(χ=0 mol%,1 mol%,3 mol%,5 mol%,7 mol%,9 mol%,11 mol%)nanophosphors with enhanced photoluminescence properties through a facile solution combustion method for optoelectronic,display,and lighting *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns of the proposed nanophosphor reveal its structural properties and crystalline *** transmission electron microscope(TEM)results confirm the change in the shape of the particle and aggregation of particles after co-doping with Ca^(2+).Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and Raman vibrations also confirm the presence of Y-O vibration and subsequently explain the crystalline nature,structural properties,and purity of the *** the synthesized nanophosphors samples emit intense red emission at 613 nm(~5D_(0)→~7 F_(2))under excitation with 235,394 and 466 nm wavelengths of Eu^(3+)*** photoluminescence(PL)emission spectra excited with 235 nm illustrate the highest emission peak with two other emission peaks excited with 466 and 394 nm that is 1.4 times higher than 466 nm and 1.9 times enhanced by 394 nm wavelength,*** emission intensity of Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+),χCa^(2+)(5 mol%)is increased 8-fold as compared to Eu:Y_(2)O_(3).Doping with Ca^(2+)ions enhances the emission intensity of Eu:Y_(2)O_(3)nanopho sphors due to an increase in energy transfer in Ca^(2+)→Eu^(3+)through asymmetry in the crystal field and by introduction of radiative defect centers through oxygen vacancies in the yttria *** is also observed that the optical band gap and the lifetime of the~5D_(0)level of Eu^(3+)ions in Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+),xCa^(2+)nanophosphor sample gets changed with a doping conce ntration of Ca^(2+)*** also reveals high thermal stability and quantum yield as estimating activation energy of 0.25 eV and 81%,***,CCT,and color purity values(>98%)show an improved red-emitting nanophosphor in the warm region of light,which m

Parkinson's disease is an idiopathic disorder of the central nervous system, characterized by resting tremors, muscular rigidity, slow and decreased movements. Oral rehabilitation of these patients requires special care, especially in those cases where the patient's socioeconomic status is not good and patient cannot come several times for fabrication of a complete denture. This clinical report presents a case of a Parkinson's patient who was completely rehabilitated in 3 appointments using special techniques. Border molding, f inal impression and jaw relation procedures were done in one appointment by using a custom tray with detachable handles and occlusal rims.

Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD) represent challenges, both from a diagnostic, and therapeutic point of view. Deep-seated anatomic structures are difficult to assess by ultrasound technique alone. As radiation-free alternative cross-sectional imaging method, magnetic resonance imaging of the intestinal structures is costly and time-consuming. Examination of pediatric patients imply additional considerations: reduction of body motions in younger children and consideration of the most appropriate preparation, and examination technique. The demanding Sellink technique is the only means for appropriately distending the lesser intestine in order to detect small bowel strictures. Oral intake of contrast medium(CM) alone shows its limitations regarding distensibility. The need for intravenous contrast media application needs to be considered, too. Active inflammation of both intestinal wall, and mesentery can be demonstrated accurately. Nevertheless, viable alternatives to CM application is desirable, considering non-negligible adverse reactions. Recent data suggest diffusion weighted imaging might fill this diagnostic gap. Irrespective of sequence technique chosen, bowel movement remains a major obstacle. Antispasmolytics in their function as smooth muscle relaxants help in improving image quality, however, their use in children might be off-label. Optimal preparation for the examination and appropriate imaging technique allow for diagnosing typical patterns of changes in IBD, such as bowel wall thickening, ulcers, mural stratification, strictures, creeping fat, and comb sign, and lymphadenopathy. The article gives a detailed overview of current significance of magnetic resonance imaging pediatric patients suffering from IBD, considering indications, limitations, and safety aspects.
