Wide-range ideal 2D Rashba electron gas with large spin splitting in Bi_(2)Se_(3)/MoTe_(2) heterostructure

An application-expected ideal two-dimensional Rashba electron gas,i.e.,nearly all the conduction electrons occupy the Rashba bands,is crucial for semiconductor spintronic *** demonstrate that such an ideal two-dimensional Rashba electron gas with a large Rashba splitting can be realized in a topological insulator Bi_(2)Se_(3) ultrathin film grown on a transition metal dichalcogenides MoTe_(2) substrate through first-principle *** results show the Rashba bands exclusively over a very large energy interval of about 0.6 eV around the Fermi level within the MoTe2 semiconducting *** a wide-range ideal twodimensional Rashba electron gas with a large spin splitting,which is desirable for real devices utilizing the Rashba effect,has never been found *** to the strong spin-orbit coupling,the strength of the Rashba splitting is comparable with that of the heavy-metal surfaces such as Au and Bi surfaces,giving rise to a spin precession length as small as~10 *** maximum in-plane spin polarization of the inner(outer)Rashba band near theΓpoint is about 70%(60%).The room-temperature coherence length is at least several times longer than the spin precession length,providing good coherency through the spin processing *** wide energy window for ideal Rashba bands,small spin precession length,as well as long spin coherence length in this twodimensional topological insulator/transition metal dichalcogenides heterostructure pave the way for realizing an ultrathin nanoscale spintronic device such as the Datta-Das spin transistor at room-temperature.

We present a new normal basis multiplication scheme using a multiplexer-based algorithm. In this algorithm, the proposed multiplier processes in parallel and has a multiplexer-based structure that uses MUX and XOR gates instead of AND and XOR gates. We show that our multiplier for type-1 and type-2 normal bases saves about 8% and 16%, respectively, in space complexity as compared to existing normal basis multipliers. Finally, the proposed architecture has regular and modular con-figurations and is well suited to VLSI implementations.

Aim:Chondrosarcoma is a malignant primary bone tumor that responds poorly toboth chemotherapy and radiation *** aim of the present study was toinvestigate the effect of alendronate,a bisphosphonate,on the invasion andmigration of human chondrosarcoma cells(JJ012).Methods:JJ012 cells weretreated with alendronate of various concentrations up to 100μmol/L for a speci-fied period,and then gelatin zymography and matrigel invasion assay was per-formed to study the effects of alendronate on matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-2activity and the invasion ability of JJ012 cells,***:Our datashowed that alendronate exerted a dose-and time-dependent inhibitory effect onthe invasion and migration of JJ012 ***,gelatin zymography andRT-PCR showed that alendronate treatment decreased the activity and mRNAlevels of MMP-2 in a concentration-dependent ***:Our find-ings suggest that alendronate may reduce MMP-2 secretion at the transcriptionaland translational levels,and inhibit the invasion of chondrosarcoma ***,alendronate may be a potential candidate for the systemic therapy of chondro-sarcomas,as well as other malignant diseases.

Quay crane and yard truck scheduling are two important subproblems in container terminal opera- tions which have been studied separately in previous research, This paper proposes a new problem for the integrated quay crane and yard truck scheduling for inbound containers. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer programming （MIP） model. Due to the intractability, a genetic algorithm （GA） and a modified Johnson＇s Rule-based heuristic algorithm （MJRHA） are used for the problem solution. In addition, two closed form lower bounds are given to evaluate the solution accuracy. Computational experiments show that the solution algorithm can efficiently handle the scheduling problem and that the integrated methods are very useful.

Truck scheduling and storage allocation, as two separate subproblems in port operations, have been deeply studied in past decades. However, from the operational point of view, they are highly interdependent. Storage allocation for import containers has to balance the travel time and queuing time of each container in yard. This paper proposed an integer programming model handling these two problems as a whole. The objective of this model is to reduce congestion and waiting time of container trucks in the terminal so as to decrease the makespan of discharging containers. Due to the inherent complexity of the prob-lem, a genetic algorithm and a greedy heuristic algorithm are designed to attain near optimal solutions. It shows that the heuristic algorithm can achieve the optimal solution for small-scale problems. The solutions of small-and large-scale problems obtained from the heuristic algorithm are better than those from the genetic algorithm.

By embedding secret data into cover images,image steganography can produce non-discriminable *** turtle shell model for data hiding is an excellent method that uses a reference matrix to make a good balance between image quality and embedding ***,increasing the embedding capacity by extending the area of basic structures of the turtle shell model usually leads to severe degradation of image *** this research,we innovatively extend the basic structure of the turtle shell model into a three-dimensional(3D)*** intrinsic properties of the original turtle shell model are well preserved in the 3D *** analysis shows that the new proposed models have good performance both in the image quality and in the complexity of the reference *** experimental results justify the theoretic conclusions.
