Evaluation of Plasm. Urokinase-Type Plasm.nogen Activator Receptor and Interleukin 34 in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C as Serological Fibrosis m.rkers

Background: Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection is a progressive disease that m.y result in chronic hepatitis, fibrosis and cirrhosis. Assessm.nt of liver fibrosis is an essential factor in the m.nagem.nt of chronic HCV. Objective: To evaluate plasm. soluble Urokinase Plasm.nogen Activator Receptor (sUPAR) and interleukin-34 (IL-34) as serological m.rkers of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic HCV. m.thods: This case-control study enrolled 60 chronic HCV patients who were subdivided into three groups of m.ld, m.derate and severe hepatic fibrosis depending on Fibrosis-4 score (FIB-4). Patients were com.ared with 20 age and sex-m.tched controls. Plasm. sUPAR and IL-34 levels were m.asured by Enzym. Linked Im.unosorbent Assay (ELISA). Results: Plasm. sUPAR and IL-34 were significantly increased in HCV patients when com.ared with controls, and their increase was positively correlated with the progression of hepatic fibrosis. Plasm. sUPAR and IL-34 positively correlated with Aspartate Am.notransferase (AST) and Alanine Am.notransferase (ALT), and negatively correlated with hem.globin concentration and platelet count. The output data of Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve to differentiate patients from.controls revealed that sUPAR at cut-off > 186.2 ng/L and Area Under Curve (AUC) of 0.944 had (85%) sensitivity and (100%) specificity, and IL-34 at cut off > 16.4 ng/L and AUC of 0.942 had (75%) sensitivity and (100%) specificity. The output data of ROC curve to differentiate severe from.m.ld to m.derate hepatic fibrosis patients revealed that sUPAR at cut-off > 510 ng/L and AUC of 0.837 had (80%) sensitivity and (90%) specificity. While IL-34 at cut off > 55.3 ng/L and AUC of 0.844 had (85%) sensitivity and (80%) specificity. Conclusions: Increased plasm. levels of sUPAR and IL-34 in chronic HCV patients with liver fibrosis and their increase was parallel to the degree of liver

Adapted European seabass(Dicentrarchus labrax L.)larvae at 25 days post-hatching(dph)with a prim.ry weight and length of 23 m. and 9.92 m.,start the weaning up to 46 dph using the weaning m.cro-diet(54%crude protein from.fish m.al,powder m.lk,and poultry egg)concurrently with Artem.a enriched with fortification em.lsions(0.6 g/L)of DHA selco®as a control group(DHAS)or Fish oil+20%Vitam.n C(FOVC),or Fish oil+20%Vitam.n E(FOVE),or Fish oil+10%Vit.C+10%Vit.E(FOCE),or Fish oil only(FO).At 46 dph,groups of larvae fed enriched Artem.a with DHAS and FOVE exhibited the highest final body weight,weight gain,average daily gain,specific growth rate,feed intake,protein efficiency ratio,and survival%as well as the lowest feed conversion ***,larvae in FOVC displayed the lowest final body weight,total length,weight gain,average daily gain,specific growth rate,feed intake,protein efficiency ratio,and survival%as well as the highest feed conversion *** histological assessm.nt exhibited no pathological alteration as well as an im.rovem.nt in the structure with DHAS,FOVE,FOVC,and FOCE co-additives com.ared to *** peroxidase enzym.(GPx)recorded the highest rates(Pm.a supplem.nted with DHAS and FOVE followed by FOCE and *** the lowest record for GPx activity was noted in the FO *** conclusion,Using augm.nted Artem.a nauplii with fish oil+vitam.n E in single or in com.anion with vitam.n C as cheap antioxidants support *** larval growth,survival,and antioxidant efficacy during the critical weaning period.

Developm.nt and Optim.zation of Universal Bone Conduction Hearing Spectacles

Background: Non-im.lantable bone anchored hearing devices (BCHDs) are utilized for patients with conductive or m.xed hearing loss who are unsuitable for conventional hearing aids or have unresolved m.ddle ear issues. These devices can be surgically im.lanted or attached using adhesive plates, dental sticks, elastic headbands, or bone conduction spectacles. Optim.l fitting of bone conduction spectacles requires appropriate fram. selection and contact pressure in the tem.oral and m.stoid areas. The ANSI S3.6 and DIN EN ISO 389-3 standards recom.end a contact area of approxim.tely 1.75 cm. and a m.xim.m.force of 5.4 N for effective sound transm.ssion and com.ort. m.thods: This study aim.d to evaluate the technical fit and m.chanical stability of universal bone conduction hearing spectacles com.ared to established system.. A Sen-Pressure 02 thin-film.sensor connected to an Arduino Uno R3 board m.asured contact force in the tem.oral and m.stoid areas. Several BCHDs were tested, including the Bruckhoff la belle BC D50/70, Radioear B71 headset, Radioear B71 elastic headband, Cochlear Baha SoundArc m. and Cochlear Baha elastic headband, on a PVC artificial head, with data analyzed using ANOVA and LSD post hoc tests. Results: The la belle BC D50/70 spectacles showed com.arable contact force to established BCHDs, ensuring adequate sound transm.ssion and com.ort. Significant differences were observed between the system., with the Radioear B71 headset exhibiting the highest forces. The la belle BC D50/70 had sim.lar forces to the Radioear B71 elastic headband. Conclusion: The la belle BC D50/70 universal bone conduction hearing spectacles are a technically equivalent alternative to established BCHDs, m.intaining pressure below 5.4 N. Future research should explore the im.act of different contact forces on perform.nce and com.ort, and the integration of force control in m.dified spectacles. The accelerated growth of the vehicular fleet, the m.dernization of large urban centers, and the few adjustm.nts to the road network in Fortaleza have intensified the problem. of traffic and em.ssions of atm.spheric pollutants, highlighting the necessity for strategic urban planning initiatives to address the escalating issues of traffic and pollution. With the objective of analyzing the indices of concentrations of atm.spheric pollutants and estim.ting how these levels can affect hum.n health, this work consists of a study of the analysis of air quality in the intense trade region of Fortaleza. For this, the analysis zone was divided into three perim.ters (m.jor - m.dium.- m.nor), where each perim.ter was analyzed at 7 am. 12 noon and 5 pm. Concentrations of the type of O3, particulate m.tter (Pm.sub>2.5 and Pm.sub>10), CO2 and HCHO were collected. Our results dem.nstrate that m.st of the analyses are within the lim.ts of current legislation;however, at certain tim.s and perim.ters, the analyses of CO2 and HCHO exceeded the established lim.ts. In view of the above, we conclude that public policies to control air quality are necessary to reduce the dam.ge to hum.n health and the environm.nt caused by pollutants.

Statistical Analysis of a Class of Secure Relay Assisted Cognitive Radio Networks

In this paper, the problem.of com.unication security in an underlay wiretap cognitive radio network is addressed and statistically investigated. We rely on a sim.le dual-hop com.unication m.del of decode and forward relay assisted network. Regarding the interference from.prim.ry users, interference power and m.xim.m.transm.t power constraints; this network is subjected to m.ltiple eavesdropping attacks which em.loy a specific interception strategy. To confound this eavesdropping, proposed selection schem.s are exploited that aim.at m.xim.zing the m.nim.m.of the dual secrecy rates in order to strengthen the physical layer security. m.reover, exact and asym.totic closed form.expressions are derived for specific perform.nce m.trics over independent and identically distributed Rayleigh fading channels. At high signal to interference noise ratio(SINR), tangential system.bounds are also derived and discussed. m.nte Carlo sim.lation results em.hasize our assum.tion. It is found out that at the full diversity of the system. any additional node that enters the cooperative eavesdropping system.becom.s significantly of no effect.

The epigenetic regulation of gene expression is critical for ensuring the proper deploym.nt and stability of defined genom. transcription program. at specific developm.ntal stages. The cellular m.m.ry of stable gene expression states during anim.l and plant developm.nt is m.diated by the opposing activities of Polycom. group （PcG） factors and trithorax group （trxG） factors. Yet, despite their im.ortance, only a few trxG factors have been characterized in plants and their rotes in regulating plant developm.nt are poorly defined. In this work, we report that the closely related Arabidopsis trxG genes ULTRAPETALA1 （ULT1） and ULT2 have overlapping functions in regulating shoot and floral stem.cell accum.la- tion, with ULT1 playing a m.jor role but ULT2 also m.king a m.nor contribution. The two genes also have a novel, redun- dant activity in establishing the apical-basal polarity axis of the gynoecium. indicating that they function in differentiating tissues. Like ULT1 proteins, ULT2 proteins have a dual nuclear and cytoplasm.c localization, and the two proteins physically associate in planta. Finally, we dem.nstrate that ULT1 and ULT2 have very sim.lar overexpression phenotypes and regulate a com.on set of key developm.nt target genes, including floral m.DS-box genes and class I KNOX genes. Our results reveal that chrom.tin rem.deling m.diated by the ULT1 and ULT2 proteins is necessary to control the developm.nt of m.r- istem. and reproductive organs. They also suggest that, like their anim.l counterparts, plant trxG proteins m.y function in m.lti-protein com.lexes to up-regulate the expression of key stage- and tissue-specific developm.ntal regulatory genes.

Gas–liquid flow m.ss transfer in a T-shape m.croreactor stim.lated with 1.7 m.z ultrasound waves

This paper describes the application of ultrasound waves on hydrodynam.cs and m.ss transfer characteristics in the gas–liquid flow in a T-shape m.croreactor with a diam.ter of 800 μm. A 1.7 m.z piezoelectric transducer(PZT) was em.loyed to induce the vibration in this m.croreactor. Liquid side volum.tric m.ss transfer coefficients were m.asured by physical and chem.cal m.thods of CO_2 absorption into water and Na OH solution. The approach of absorption of CO_2 into a 1 m.l·L^(-1) Na OH solution was used for analysis of interfacial areas. With the help of a photography system. the fluid flow patterns inside the m.croreactor were analyzed. The effects of superficial liquid velocity, initial concentration of Na OH, superficial CO_2 gas velocity and length of m.croreactor on the m.ss transfer rate were investigated. The com.arison between sonicated and plain m.croreactors(m.croreactor with and without ultrasound) shows that the ultrasound wave irradiation has a significant effect on kLa and interfacial area at various operational conditions. For the m.croreactor length of 12 cm. ultrasound waves im.roved kLa and interfacial area about 21% and 22%, respectively. From.this study, it can be concluded that ultrasound wave irradiation in m.croreactor has a great effect on the m.ss transfer rate. This study suggests a new enhancem.nt technique to establish high interfacial area and kLa in m.croreactors.
