The impact of male overweight on semen quality and outcome of assisted reproduction

It is well-documented that male overweight and obesity causes endocrine disorders that might diminish the male reproductive capacity; however, reports have been conflicting regarding the influence of male body mass index （BMI） on semen quality and the outcome of assisted reproductive technology （ART）. The aim of this study was to investigate whether increased male BMI affects sperm quality and the outcome of assisted reproduction in couples with an overweight or obese man and a non-obese partner. Data was prospectively collected from 612 infertile couples undergoing ART at a Danish fertility center. Self-reported information on paternal height and weight were recorded and BMI was calculated. The men were divided into four BMI categories： underweight BMI 〈 20 kgm^-2, normal BMI 20-24.9 kg m^-2, overweight BMI 25-29.9 kgm^-2 and obese BMI 〉 30 kgm^-2. Conventional semen analysis was performed according to the World Health Organization guideline and sperm DNA integrity was analyzed by the Sperm Chromatin Structure Assay （SCSA）. No statistically significant effect of male BMI was seen on conventional semen parameters （sperm concentration, total sperm count, seminal volume and motility） or on SCSA-results. Several pests feed on leaves,stems,bases,and the entire plant,causing plant *** a result,it is vital to identify and eliminate the disease before causing any damage to *** detecting plant disease and treating it is pretty challenging in this *** processing is employed to detect plant disease since it requires much effort and an extended processing *** main goal of this study is to discover the disease that affects the plants by creating an image processing system that can recognize and classify four different forms of plant diseases,including Phytophthora infestans,Fusarium graminearum,Puccinia graminis,tomato yellow leaf ***,this work uses the Support vector machine(SVM)classifier to detect and classify the plant disease using various steps like image acquisition,Pre-processing,Segmentation,feature extraction,and *** gray level co-occurrence matrix(GLCM)and the local binary pattern features(LBP)are used to identify the disease-affected portion of the plant *** to experimental data,the proposed technology can correctly detect and diagnose plant sickness with a 97.2 percent accuracy.

In this paper, the problem of communication security in an underlay wiretap cognitive radio network is addressed and statistically investigated. We rely on a simple dual-hop communication model of decode and forward relay assisted network. Regarding the interference from primary users, interference power and maximum transmit power constraints; this network is subjected to multiple eavesdropping attacks which employ a specific interception strategy. To confound this eavesdropping, proposed selection schemes are exploited that aim at maximizing the minimum of the dual secrecy rates in order to strengthen the physical layer security. Moreover, exact and asymptotic closed form expressions are derived for specific performance metrics over independent and identically distributed Rayleigh fading channels. At high signal to interference noise ratio(SINR), tangential system bounds are also derived and discussed. Monte Carlo simulation results emphasize our assumption. It is found out that at the full diversity of the system, any additional node that enters the cooperative eavesdropping system becomes significantly of no effect.

AIM: To assess vitamin D (Vit D) abnormalities in hepatitis C infected patients and their relationship with interleukin (IL)-17, IL-23 and N-terminal propeptide of type Ⅲ pro-collagen (PⅢNP) as immune response mediators. METHODS: The study was conducted on 50 Egyptian patients (36 male, 14 female) with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, who visited the Hepatology Outpatient Clinic in the Endemic Disease Hospital at Cairo University. Patients were compared with 25 ageand sexmatched healthy individuals. Inclusion criteria were based on a history of liver disease with HCV genotype 4 (HCV-4) infection (as new patients or under followup). Based on ultrasonography, patients were classified into four subgroups; 14 with bright hepatomegaly; 11 with perihepatic fibrosis; 11 with hepatic cirrhosis; and 14 with cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Total Vit D (i.e., 25-OH-Vit D) and active Vit D [i.e., 1,25-(OH) 2 -Vit D] assays were carried out using commercial kits. IL-17, IL-23 and PⅢNP levels were assayed using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay kits, while HCV virus was measured by quantitative and qualitative polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS: Levels of Vit D and its active form were significantly lower in advanced liver disease (hepatic cirrhosis and/or carcinoma) patients, compared to those with bright hepatomegaly and perihepatic fibrosis. IL-17, IL-23 and PⅢNP levels were markedly increased in HCV patients and correlated with the progression of hepatic damage. The decrease in Vit D and active Vit D was concomitant with an increase in viral load, as well as levels of IL-17, IL-23 and PⅢNP among all subgroups of HCV-infected patients, compared to normal healthy controls. A significant negative correlation was evident between active Vit D and each of IL-17, IL-23 and PⅢNP (r = -0.679, -0.801 and -0.920 at P < 0.001, respectively). A unique circular path of moving single bubble sonoluminescence in water

Based on a quasi-adiabatic model, the parameters of the bubble interior for a moving single bubble sonoluminescence （m-SBSL） in water are calculated. By using a complete form of the hydrodynamic force, a unique circular path for the m-SBSL in water is obtained. The effect of the ambient pressure variation on the bubble trajectory is also investigated. It is concluded that as the ambient pressure increases, the bubble moves along a circular path with a larger radius and all bubble parameters, such as gas pressure, interior temperature and light intensity, increase. A comparison is made between the parameters of the moving bubble in water and those in N-methylformamide. With fluid viscosity increasing, the circular path changes into an elliptic form and the light intensity increases.

With the obvious throughput shortage in traditional cellular radio networks,Device-to-Device(D2D)communications has gained a lot of attention to improve the utilization,capacity and channel performance of nextgeneration *** this paper,we study a joint consideration of power and channel allocation based on genetic algorithm as a promising direction to expand the overall network capacity for D2D underlaied cellular *** genetic based algorithm targets allocating more suitable channels to D2D users and finding the optimal transmit powers for all D2D links and cellular users efficiently,aiming to maximize the overall system throughput of D2D underlaied cellular network with minimum interference level,while satisfying the required quality of service QoS of each *** simulation results show that our proposed approach has an advantage in terms of maximizing the overall system utilization than fixed,random,BAT algorithm(BA)and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)based power allocation schemes.
